silvadel 1,393 May 9, 2013 Share May 9, 2013 The mane six should be making a good example for the rest of the ponies but every time we see a delivery made, there are no tips given and the door seems to be shut in their faces. Even in 3/13 there is a special delivery for Twilight and she grabs it and noseplants the delivery pony's face in the door. In 2/14 the only pony who even considers the delivery pony at all is Pinkie Pie and that is to give one slice of cake wordlessly OUTSIDE because it is his birthday. Even in 1/1 Twilight was thankful to the chariot ponies, but never delivery ponies. Silvadel, the Pegasus of Insight.
Sunnerino 182 May 9, 2013 Share May 9, 2013 I've noticed this too, and it just bothers me to no end, but I'm not sure why. But hey maybe Twilight hates delivery ponies because Ditzy dropped stuff onto Twilight's head in "Feeling Pinkie Keen." (I'm pretty sure that was the episode.) If you see me around, feel free to say hey!

But hey maybe Twilight hates delivery ponies because Ditzy dropped stuff onto Twilight's head in "Feeling Pinkie Keen." (I'm pretty sure that was the episode.) She was a furniture mover pony back then. She's like the Three Stooges, in that she appears to not be able to hold down a single profession or job. Being a mailmare/time travel companion is probably her calling, though. Mules have it worst, IMHO. Onwards to my DeviantArt page! Sig by the illustrious Kyoshi! Doctor XFizzle 8,670 May 9, 2013 Share May 9, 2013 Should take a look at the writer for each of those episodes and see if it's the same one. Maybe that writer has a grudge against postal workers or used to be one themselves. 1 MLP Forums' resident timelord, sports dilettante, and purveyor of wit and humor~*Traveling Timelord Nonpareil*~
silvadel 1,393 May 9, 2013 Author Share May 9, 2013 (edited) I've noticed this too, and it just bothers me to no end, but I'm not sure why. But hey maybe Twilight hates delivery ponies because Ditzy dropped stuff onto Twilight's head in "Feeling Pinkie Keen." (I'm pretty sure that was the episode.) For me it is just how small town friendly they are and just how very out of place their casual indifference to delivery ponies is. Edited May 9, 2013 by silvadel Silvadel, the Pegasus of Insight. Veylon 255 May 10, 2013 Share May 10, 2013 I think it's more of an ongoing societal disdain for wage-earners by the salaried or self-employed. Someone who gets paid by the hour is undeserving of dignity or empathy. You also see this in how Rarity and Celestia laugh off the bellhop's difficulties in Sweet and Elite. It's fairly common across TV shows in general.
~Silver Essence~ 2,625 May 10, 2013 Share May 10, 2013 True, most episodes with a mail mare or stallion usually don't get a thank you or something. I mean, if someone sent me a letter, I'd thank them! Like for example, from derpy!

There have been more episodes where there were delivery ponies were in them as well, like Putting Your Hoof Down where one invoked the wrath of Assertiveshy, but I think there was one in Wonderbolt Academy who was treated right.
