Mel turned to the wait. "We'll be sharing the large plate of spaghetti...and a bottle of red wine please." The waiter looked at them a bit odd, but wrote down the order and walked away. He returned his attention to his date. "Sunny is so cute, sleeping in your mane like that."

 

Chirp chuckled. "Sometimes I think she likes my mane more than her actual nest back at the apartment." He said, smiling.

He sipped some of his water and looked around the room...that's when he noticed the ponies laughing at him. He turned a bright pink and started rubbing his hooves together as he looked down at the ground.

He placed a hoof over Chirp's hoof on the table. "Don't worry. They're not laughing at you. They just think the was Sunny sits in your mane is cute," he chuckled. "She does look kind of silly. In a good way, of course." He smiled at Chirp lovingly. "Even if they were, don't worry. I won't let anyone hurt you or pick on you."

Chirp blushed and took Mel's hoof in his own. "Thanks Mel..." He said, smiling shyly.

The waiter returned with the wine and poured it into two wine glasses before placing the bottle in the middle of the table. "You're food will be out momentarily." He said, smiling and walking off to the kitchen again.
