If you'd prefer not to record the whole thing you could always just take a picture every now and again, and then put them all together into gif or video. The more pictures more often the better as it would make for a much smoother transaction between each. It's an easier way of doing a time lapse but it still works. Sorry for the delayed reply, I had to make sure some changes were made to make the announcement more clear.
