Royal nodded. "Yes, we share a dorm." Royal briefly considered telling him they were together, but he decided it didn't matter. 

 

"Minty, I've seen her around." He said. He remembered her.

 

"The little stunt he pulled with Todd helped me win a bet with that game. I got a lot of money out of it. I sent him some bits, but i felt i should come thank him in person." He chuckled.

Flint chuckled a bit. "Oh, now that's just not nice. You need to train your mare better, Rambler. Back in the good old days we would have both bedded her already. Why don't you talk some sense into her, huh? Let your little brother have a roll with her?"

 

By this point Rambler was visibly trembling with rage. If his teeth were clenched any harder, they would have shattered. "Flint. This. Isn't. Like. That."

 

"Oh, come on, Rambler. You never had any problem with sharing before, and I certainly never minded sharing with you."

Neon was getting real mad "I was going to be nice about you being here but you are being a real jerk! I don't know how it was 'back then' but Rambler isn't like that! Not anymore anyways.." She said madly. She got up and walked over to Flint "I...i think its about time you left"

"Oh, come on now, love. Don't be like that. You know you want to have a go with me. Come on, let me show you a good time." Suddenly he grabbed her and started making out with her aggressively, almost violently. 

 

Rambler should have done something. He knew he should have. But he was too stunned to do anything more than sit there, trembling with rage.

"She's a cute mare, isn't she?" Saronyx says, chuckling. His tone didn't suggest any attraction, merely an observation.

 

"Ah, so that's her name," Saronyx chuckles, "That stunt? It worked pretty well, for a time. I think that might be a little bit of what ended Windy up in here," he glances out the window, "I bet the ponies you bet against weren't to happy about that?"

Neon looked at Flint madly still pointing at the door, she wanted him out! She rolled her eyes at what he had said "No, i do not want to-" She was saying when suddenly he grabbed her and started kissing her. For a second or two she stood there still with her eyes wide open confused on what happened. She started trying to pull away from the kiss "Y-you jerk!"

Royal nodded, taking another seat across from him.

"She is. Very shy, too. I could tell she wanted to say something but didn't know how." He smiled, remembering the night they shared.

 

"Yeah, i almost feel bad i felt positive about him doing it." He glanced outside. "Yea, they aren't to happy of my luck. It's funny, it's my only talent and now it's in my way." He chuckled.

Rambler was finally able to break out of his shock and do something. He got up and punched Flint in the face, knocking him onto the floor, his lip bleeding. "Get. Out. Now."

 

"What are you doing, Rambler? Is this how you treat your brother when he comes to visit after not seeing you for years?"

 

"Maybe not seeing you for so long was a good thing. I don't know what happened to you, but you used to understand what the word 'no' meant. You used to have respect for ponies. But now... now you're just digusting. Get out of here and don't come back."

 

Flint picked himself up off the floor and slowly walked out without saying another word.

Saronyx laughs, "She seemed to be a shy type, though she was fine around me. Good luck with her." He says, grinning.

 

The navy Pegasus huffs, "I feel pretty horrible myself. Hell, I helped him do it." He shrugs and chuckles, "In that case, I suppose wishing you good luck might be a double edged sword, huh?"

Royal smiled. "Yea, she's a keeper." 

 

He laughed. "I guess i have you to thank and curse, too." Then he shook his head. "Trust me, i don't need any more luck. I have plenty, and i think if i had any more i couldn't trip without finding a hundred bits." He laughed, but he was a bit solemn inside. He appreciated his luck, but like always it got him in trouble.

Neon got away from Flint and was surprise when Rambler suddenly punched him. She sat down on a chair and watched as he left. She sighed and looked at her food "Well, there goes our romantic dinner.." She took a sip of her water then laid down on her bed. She was happy Flint finally left.

Rambler sat down next to Neon. "I'm so sorry. He... he used to be a better stallion than that. I really don't know what happened to him. Maybe... maybe he took after me a little too much. I was never that aggressive, but back then... we certainly had our way with the mares. I guess I had forgotten just how different things were in those days."

"In which case, I will not wish you anymore luck." Saronyx says, before chuckling, "Though I think that tripping and finding a hundred bits would be pretty nice. But to much luck can be a hindrance, I suppose."

He looks out the window, and then to Windy, who had been silent this whole time. Whethe he was awake or not was unknown.

Neon sighed then looked up at Rambler "Its...its alright...Its not your fault your annoying brother came here and ruined our romantic dinner..." She looked away then looked back and smiled a bit. She kissed him on the cheek. "Well...you gave him a good punch" She laughed a bit

Rambler shook his head. "But it is my fault. I should have done something. I didn't lift a hoof to defend you until it was too late. That's... That's not what a coltfriend is supposed to do. I shouldn't have let him get anywhere near you. And... If I hadn't snapped out of it, he wouldn't have stopped on his own, and he wouldn't let you stop him either, no matter how much you fought back. He would have had his way with you, and I almost let it happen."

Royal laughed. "Its never quite that good, but you see what i mean." He turned to windy.

"Well i suppose we should be comfortable." He chuckled.

"So, hows college been going for ya? Other then the fights, i mean." He rolled his eyes. "I've heard enough of them, let me tell you."

Saronyx chuckles, "Eh, college's been college. Nothing wholly special. The fights, and there have even plenty of them in my four years here, aren't to bad. At least when my allies aren't hospitalized, but hey."

He shrugs, "You learn how to pick up on things when you've been around college aged ponies for four years. How about yourself? How's it been so far?"

Royal shrugged. "Pretty good, i'd say. Got along well with denim, and like i said i already made quite a bit of cash. I wasn't planning on a relationship, but hey, things just sort of happened." He chuckled.

"And it seems I've made some allies against todd, thankfully."

Saronyx chuckles, "Things usually work in ways we're not expecting. Besides, you said it yourself, she's a keeper, just keep an eye on her. With how some things have been going on here, I wouldn't be surprised if she got threatened before to long.." He lets that sink in for a bit before shrugging, "And having money's not to bad either."

 

He nods, "I've put up with Stocks for most of my time here. It was about time I started whittling down his ego."

He nodded. "I've been trying to keep her out of things, but i'm afraid her curiosity will get the best of her." He sighed. 

"She and minty both. I'm afraid they will get to involved." He looked over at windy. "Minty is already to deep in, and i don't want denim part of something like this." He sighed, trying to make himself more comfortable. "I tried to stop the rumors, but i'm afraid i only slowed them down."

"It's difficult, defending the ones we care about. Sometimes though, things just happen that are beyond our control."

He looks out the window, "We can't keep them protected forever. Denim seems innocent, but I feel like there's something she's not mentioned yet, but I'm sure she'll tell you when she's ready."

 

Saronyx sighs, "It is to bad about Minty. I'm thinking I might need to have her and Windy move into the apartment next to mine after the incident last night, whatever happened."

He sighed. "I know. I only meet her a few days ago and i'm already defending her like I've known her forever." He shook his head.

"We all have secrets to hide. Some things never come into the light." He looked at the floor, thinking about his brother. "Some secrets stay secrets."

 

"You may have to. I know that todd knows where he lives, so i think getting them away would be good." He sighed. "Unfortunately, nothings going to change unless we do something about todd himself."

"Well, when you care for something, or someone, you tend to be protective of it." Saronyx says, leaning back into his chair, "We'll just have to see how things turn out."

 

He studies Royal's face as he speaks. He senses an underlying meaning, a skill you learn being a writer, but doesn't comment on it.

 

"I'll run it by them when Windy wakes up, and next time I see Minty. As for Todd.. Graduation for the senior class is still a decent stretch of time away. We could try to get him expelled, or hell, even arrested. He's done enough to land him in jail for a decent amount of time, we just don't have much proof of it. We'll think of something."

Royal nodded. "I've lost to much to let anything go now." He sighed.

 

Looking over at Saronyx, he could tell he was analyzing him, and he moved his head away so he couldn't read his face.

 

"I'm sure windy would appreciate anyone on his side." He said, looking over at him. "I think he's had enough of enemies."
