"Well we do have about 4 magic users, so I'm sure we can get him out if it comes down to it. Speaking if which, we should probably have a set time for when he should come out. I suggest an hour and a half, and if he's not out we'll storm the base." Echo used his sonar and looked at the group.

"Also, keep your communicator in a place where none of the others can see it, but you can fetch it out of there quickly. This way, when everything is said and done, we can start to use magic, but you have to be out of there quickly. You can't talk to anypony, nor let anypony see you disabling the magic sensors." Agent Thunder explained.

Moon Crypt gave Thunder Dash a look. "You seem to think that I haven't done this before. And failed before, and succeeded before." He sighed. "Alright... here we go." He hid the communicator and his invisibility device inside of his mane. "Now, if you would be so kind as to show me the base?  I wasn't here for the initial recon yesterday."

Agent Thunder pointed to the west where a faint image of a concrete wall could be seen. "It's that way." He said as he walked a little towards it. "Alright, just to let you know, all of us will be armed in case of an emergency." Agent Thunder explained as he adressed the others.

"Armed?" Curious said in surprise.

 

"Well, I shouldn't be too surprised, this is a mafia we are infiltrating, but still... I never have liked weapons. I can typically make my own way out without them when things get sour, but it would be foolish of me to put the others at risk."

 

"Um, what kind of armaments, exactly?"

"Magic, teleportation spells and any gagets that can be used as a weapon. I could have the base send over some stuff via teleportation." Agent Thunder said. "But until we know that Agent Moon is in there safely, we will have to wait patiently until further notice." Agent Thunder said.

Curious breathed a sigh of relief. Technically, he was the worse off of any of the agents: no magic, no spiffy gadgets. But if there was one thing he learned from his mentor, is that all you need to get out alive was your wits.

 

"Right, wait patiently." Curious looked up at the sky and tugged at his scarf. "Could we at least try and find some shade?"

Agent Thunder looked around. He then spotted an oasis not too far away. "Hey, I see an oasis over there. We can probably make that our temporary base." Agent Thunder said as he trotted towards it. "Come on everypony, let's go." He said waiting for the others to come. "Once we get word from Agent Moon, I'll let him know about the oasis." Agent Thunder added.

Entry went rather well. There weren't many guards at the gate. All it took was a touch of invisibility, and he was in. He picked a place- free of cameras and people- and saw a set of wires on the ceiling. "Well, there it is," he said to himself. He walked along the hallways, keeping his head down. He quickly sent a mental message to his communicator, which translated it and sent it along to the others.

 

I am in base. No suspicion yet. Please do not respond.

Agent Thunder's communicator suddenly beeped. He looked at the message. "Yes, he's in!" He said happily. "But let's not get our hopes up yet, anything can happen. We must now wait for the magic sensors to be disabled." Agent Thunder said as he put his communicator back in his bag.

Agent Midnight stood in place, hearing the communicator beep.  She heard the good news and started to feel a little better.  She was worried most about the magic sensors.  If he can't get the sensors down, we can't teleport without them tracking our location.  She waited for further alerts.

Agent Thunder kept watch over the oasis. He wondered when he would hear from Agent Moon again. He hoped that the magic sensors would be disabled soon so they could have the advantage. He looked at Agent Midnight as she stood upright, listening to almost everything.

It had taken him a while, but he had finally been able to get into the room with the sensors in it. He took off a jamming device- it would disable the scanner, but feed power to the computer stations to trick them into thinking that they were still online.

 

Scanners disabled. Exfil?

Agent Thunder heard his communicator beep. He saw the text and sent Agent Moon a message that stated that he can teleport back to the location they were at. After, he gave a sigh of relief. "Now we can use magic without having to worry about them tracking our location." Agent Thunder said.

And with that, Moon Crypt dropped his disguise and teleported away. He appeared with a flash in front of Thunder Dash, smiling. "Tada! Mission one complete. Now what's our next move, now that that's done?"

"Alright, now we must observe, what they do for the next few days. We must listen hard about what they will do with the Crystal Heart. Fortunately, I have a device that lets us tap into the communication system and listen in to the plans. Nopony doesn't even have to sneak in and put something inside the base to make it work." Agent Thunder explained.

Agent Midnight thought about the plan. It sounds good, but she wasn't sure. "The problem is we can't stay here for days. We only have less than two days. And what if they figured out about the magic sensor going down? And when we do find out what they are going to do with the Crystal Heart, should one of us go in?" She questioned Agent Thunder.

"We've got Agent Moon to figure all of that out. We also have tappers that allow us to tap into the communication devices in enemy territory. So we're covered for now." Agent Thunder explained as he dug into his bag for a small bite to eat. He then checked the time.

Agent Midnight decided to stretch again. She looked into her bag found an apple. She quickly ate the red object. She looked at the Pegasus. "Do you mind if I go for a quick run? My legs are aching and I need to loosen them up" she asked Agent Thunder. Maybe I can spy on the mafia people and see what they are up to when I go past the city

Echo's legs were also aching. "Yes I wouldn't mind loosening up my legs as well. No sense in going in there remotely paralyzed. Do you mind if I go with you Agent Midnight?" Echo directed the question towards Thunder Dash. Frowning, the unicorn twitched his ears and looked towards Midnight. "Hehe... woops."

"We can go for a walk around the place, but I still don't think it's safe to go near that base without Agent Moon's transformation, so let's take a walk around the place. Who knows, we might even spot some ponies who know about the secret base and get some valuable information from them." Thunder Dash said getting up and starting a brisk trot.

Agent Midnight smiled at Agent Echo and started to trot around. She stayed side by side of him and looked as they went around town. She saw a market with ponies crowded in it. Hmmm. Looks like a good place to look around in for suspicious activity she thought.

Echo had the same idea. "Maybe we should go over to that market and ask around." He started walking in the wrong direction, then realizing that Midnight wasn't next to him he turned back. His ears flattened against his face. "Heh, I'll assume I was going the wrong direction. Anyway, Do you think that we'll get any trouble there? You never know. Some of these folks might be loyalists to this group we're against. I could just be over thinking it though."

Thunder Dash noticed the two wandering off, and turned to follow them. "The market is a pretty good place to search for clues." He then caught up to them. "Hmmm, I wonder...". Agent Thunder said as he kept on trotting to keep up with Agent Echo and Agent Midnight.

"I'll just stay back here then! You know, in case of whatever." Curious shouted to the departing three. Why he didn't just use his communicator, he didn't quite know. He supposed it was just easier to yell.

 

Curious paced back and forth through the impromptu made camp. He'd rather not have been left behind to house sit, as it were, but he'd rather be alone anyway.
