@, @@Applejack25,

Curious tempered his excitement a bit at the minor reprimand from Agent Thunder. "I never got the whole deal with all these ancient tomes. I mean, really, it's all so... boring." Curious audibly sighed, and lowered his head a few degrees. "But I suppose when you're dealing with all this ancient stuff the trail does start too cold for the more exciting bits of the case."

Curious started to follow behind Agent Thunder, and turned to Agent Midnight, "Come on then, Agent Midnight." Curious figured he shouldn't be too casual with his fellow agents, not so much to call them by their full names anyway. He still didn't much like it, but it was just one of those adjustments he's had to make since being recruited.

Midnight Glow nodded to Agent Curious.  "Coming" she said.  She followed the other ponies and librarian.  She looked at Agent Curious.  "Are you new?  Just the way you are, you seem to be newly recruited.  I'm Agent Midnight, but I guess you already knew that" she commented to him.

@@Applejack25,

Curious fell back a little from Agent Thunder, so that he could more easily chat with Agent Midnight. He chuckled a little when she asked him if he was new. "Ah, well, I suppose, technically speaking. I was recruited just about a month ago. But do not think I am inexperienced, I have spent the last 6 years solving mysteries! Though, I was always alone, and it was quite informal, but I got some attention after a particularly high profile case. Name's Agent C, short for Curious, by the way."

The librarian slowly strolled nervously towards the history section. As Agent Thunder was walking past the books, he noticed that all of them dealt with the history of the Crystal Empire itself. He kept his hopes up that there would be a book that contained the information on the symbol. Suddenly the librarian stopped. She looked at a book which was on the fourth shelf above. "M-m-maybe th-that b-blue one w-would do." She said still shaking. Agent Thunder flew up and got the book. "Come on everypony, let's go sit at that table over there. If this book doesn't contain the information on the symbol, we'll go to Twilight Sparkle's library." Agent Thunder said.

Agent Midnight nodded.  As she was following Agent Thunder, she turned to Agent C.  "Welcome to the agency.  I have been with these guys for about 2 years" She said and walked towards the table seated for four.  Midnight sat down and looked at the book.  Her horn glowed neon aqua. She used magic to start flipping through the pages and stopped about midway.  The unicorn saw an icon that had stars and the stripes going through the middle.  "Agent Thunder, is this the mark?" She questioned.

Curious's ears perked up upon hearing Agent Thunder talk. "Hey, I met that Twilight mare once. She was so utterly confused by my resistance to looking in books myself when I asked her for corporation with a case," he mentally noted, a bit reluctant at the prospect of  meeting her again, if they had to.

Curious sat down at the table, and looked at the page Agent Midnight had flipped to.

Agent Thunder took out the picture and lined it with the picture that Agent Midnight had shown him. "It looks awfully close, but it's not it. Keep looking." Agent Thunder said as he put the picture away. "Hopefully it's here, and hopefully Agent Moon is having good luck with Princess Cadence and Shining Armor." Agent Thunder thought to himself.

@,

Curious let out an audible sigh when Agent Thunder dismissed what Agent Midnight found, "Oh horse-feathers, of course it couldn't be that simple."

"Well, there's not much point in all of us being huddled around the one book." Curious stood up from his seat. "If you'll excuse me, I think I'll check some of the other books around here."

"That would be a good idea. Look EVERYWHERE. This would save us a lot of time, for we won't have to make that trip to Ponyville and get distracted from our mission. Time is critical now, we cannot waste any time in Ponyville, that is...if we can't find the book here." Agent Thunder said.

"Roger that, Agent Thunder. I'll be sure to report immediately should I find something." Curious turned away from the table and started to trot through the library, When he was out of sight , and hopefully hearing range, of the other ponies, he brought one of his front hooves to his face.

"Did I really just give myself more boring book work? Ugh." he exclaimed. He brought his hoof off his face. "But, I mean, if I have free range of the library, I could just move on over to the fiction section, grab a novel of 'The Adventures of Sherclop Pones' and wait until they find something or decide to go to Ponyville"

Curious shook his head. "No, no, this is serious, no time to waste as Agent Thunder said. I better start hitting the books and try to find something."

He started to look through the shelves and pulled out a book that seemed at least tangentially related to the matter at hoof.

Midnight got up from her chair and went ove to the non-fiction section. "Hmmm... Fantasy or historical? Lets try fantasy" she said to herself. She walked toward the fantasy non-fiction section. She saw a book that caught her eye. "Do you think maybe this book called The Legends of Equestria would help?" She asked the other agents.

Agent Thunder gasped. "Agent Midnight! That's exactly what we need! They've got some good stuff in there." Agent Thunder said excitedly as he used his electric abilities to levitate the book and flip through it. He then came to a section that discussed ancient symbols of Equestria. He then contiuned to flip through the book. He took out the picture and put it beside the book. He then came to a page where the symbol was stitched onto a piece of clothing. "Sweet mother of Celestia!" Agent Thunder said trying to hold his excitement in. "Everypony, I got it." He said to the others.

Agent Midnight ran over to go see what Agent Thunder has discovered. She saw the mark stitched on the clothes in the book. "That's the mark! Should we start looking for the mark anywhere or tell Agent Moon what we have discovered?" She asked the pegasus.

Curious breathed a sigh of relief when he overheard Agent Midnight's findings. He placed the book he was absent-mindedly flipping through back on the shelf where he found it and trotted over to Agent Thunder, who was holding the book in his odd form of telekinesis.

"Hey, I know this is kinda off-topic, but how exactly does that work? The whole electricity spell stuff you do? I just mean, like, if you are using charged electricity to hold something, like a very flammable book, wouldn't it kind of heat it up?" Curious wore a sheepish smile after he asked that question.

"Perhaps that's a bit too personal of a question, but I can't help myself. That, and I am a little jealous that everypony here but me can do magic." He thought to himself.

Agent Thunder turned to Agent Curious. "Well, it's kind of complex. It started when I was a little colt. I was trying to rescue a pegasus who was lost in a storm and was struck by lightning. But...for some reason, the lightning was absorbed in my body. From that day on, I could wield electricity in my body. I actually learned how to convert the electricity into magic power, which is why the book isn't ablaze." Agent Thunder explained.

Curious looked at Agent Thunder Incredulously, "Right, what ever you say. Never have been too good at understanding magic, so I'll take your word for it."

"Well, I don't much understand weather manipulation either, but I don't think I should mention that embarrassing fact to my fellow pegasus. And for some reason, I get the odd feeling he has me confused for somepony else."((OOC: Hint hint, you typed Agent Moon in your post, when you were addressing me.))

"Anyways, so now that we have this clue, what's our next objective?" Curious asked, returning the subject to the case.

(OOC: sorry I meant to say that to you.)

Agent Thunder then continued reading about the symbol. He then turned to Agent Curious. "Alright, it says here that this symbol is related too some mysterious pony mafia or evil group. I wouldn't call it a mafia since it was decades ago. It also says that they lives near Saddle Arabia, which is approximately 250 miles outside the border of Equestria." Agent Thunder explained. "But what could they want the Crystal Heart for?" He asked himself.

Agent Midnight wondered that as well. "Well, they might try to reborn a new group. Most bad guys do that now a days. Most likely there is more than one pony as the 'culprit'. We might be able to investigate the town for clues, but if the 'mafia' is out and about, our cover might get blown" she said while pacing back and forth.

Curious nodded his head in understanding. "Right, Saddle-Arabian gangsters. If that's the case, perhaps they don't really have a use for it themselves. I mean, an artefact like the Crystal Heart could sell for an exuberant amount of bits on the black market."

Curious tapped his hoof against his chin in contemplation, "but if that's the case, we still need to track them down before they sell it."

Crypt Moon looked at the princesses. Panic. And that the guards haven't returned? Strange. His communicator beeped. He smiled as he looked at it. "Alright... last question for now. Do you recognize this symbol?" He held up communicator, revealing the (somewhat blurred) picture.

Agent Midnight thought of what to do. "Remember when Agent Moon, or I should say Cadence, said that guards have not returned? The place is so far away that guard must have lost track of the bandits and didn't know where they have stopped. They might stranded in the desert somewhere" she said to them. "The question is, how are we going to go 250 miles back and forth in one day?" She said aloud, still pacing back and forth.

"But wait a second. The Crystal Heart can't just be sold for bits and stuff. The question still remains assuming that they're Saddle Arabian gangsters, which I highly doubt they are, What will the pony or ponies do who receive the Crystal Heart? Will it turn into a giant selling chain just for bits. I mean, they could use it to power things. So it couldn't be just Saddle Arabian gangsters. I mean come on! We're some of the top agents in our league. If it were that easy, it would be a Class 1 mission. So don't assume anything." Agent Thunder explained as he continued to read more about the symbol.

Agent Midnight thought about it. He has a point.. "Maybe we should ask around town. They might be able to give us some info. We might be able to run into one of them. There is a little chance of that, but who knows. Should one of us look around town, while the others look up more info?" She asked Agent Thunder.

Curious rolled his eyes, "He'd be surprised by the kinds of things you could get away with selling. Especially if it's something that can do any number of miraculous things, like some big Crystal McGuffin. But I suppose he's right in that we can't assume that just because the symbol is related to the gangsters historically that is its use in this context."

"Right, I volunteer myself to ask around town."

"Well, here's the problem with that, they'll know that we're agents. So I doubt that'll work...say...maybe this has reached the news, which could reveal some potential evidence. Unfortunately, we'd have to travel to Manehattan, where my cousin Storm Rush lives. He let's me use his TV for certain situations." Agent Thunder suggested.
