Long ago midnight a demon that could cause great destruction was divided in six parts and each one sealed in a certain object. The demon was isolated and sad for 3000 years. That was until night dart came across the objects and let midnight out. He was very grateful but then was enraged and sought revenge on equestrias rulers. He has given warnings such as nightmares and disease. He is going to Chrystal empire first to attack his aunt ,with the help of his colleagues night dart and surreal darkness. Cadence may he have mercy on your soul...

 

It was a bright day in equestria and celestia was visiting cadence. Meanwhile in midnights castle.. "Night dart! Are we ready to go?" Midnight asked he was happy to have his revenge for being trapped like an animal. "Today cadence is gonna have a date with me. It will be a date to die for! Muahahahaha!"...

Night Dart's ears pricked up as he heard his master call out.

"Almost, Master, I'm just looking for that moronic Chimera went... Oh well. The thing's not worth our time. Couldn't fight right if it's life depended on it."

The black Pegasus walked to the barracks. The monsters all stood to attention.

"The Master is ready to leave. Try to stay under the cover of the Forest. We shall aid our Master in his revenge."

A dark sliver of a smile crept across Night's face. Not only his Master's revenge, but his own as well.

"Now, where is ?"

Diamond Dust, a 15 year old Crystal Pegasus, opened the window of her room and looked around her house.. Other Crystal Ponies were trotting about, happy to have such a beautiful morning. She stretched her wings as a smll breeze tugged at her mane. No weather work today, it seemed. She grinned and turned around, walking to her bedroom door. She quickly ate breakfast and walked downstairs to her hop, but not before looking at the picture of her family."Hello, Dad. Morning, Mom." She said, a melancholy smile on her face.

The young mare walked to the window, switching the sign to say "~Open!~", and unlocked the door. She walked around to the counter and started putting examples up.

Diamon had been living on her own for almost a year now. It had been to years since the Crystal Princess, Princess Cadence, had first graced the Empire. Her dad had been a Pegasus, and was in Cloudsdle when the Empire disappeared. Her mother, a full Crystal Pony, had died almost a year ago from a deathly illness. She missed them both terribly, sometimes to the point of shutting herself off from the world and breaking down, but she knew neither of them would want her to be sad.

So, since her mother had died, she had made a shop in the lower level of the house left for her, selling beautiful decorations of varying shapes and sizes. Sometimes out of ice, which made being the pony in charge of leaning up Winter every year that much more convenient.

Now, a Crystal Pony mare walked though the door, making the bell jingle quietly.

"Hello, ma'amm. Welcome to my shop. I am Diamond Dust. Can I help you with finding anything?"

 

"Ahh, no, thank you, not at the moment. I may make a visit soon, though. Beautiful designs. Anyhow, the Princess has asked to see you this afternoon. She is intrigued by your decorations. Princess Celestia may psi still be here as well."

Diamond Dust's blue eyes went wide as she gasped, smiling with surprised elation.

"The Princess? Me?! Oh, what an honor! I will make something beautiful, as a gift to her, to thank her for such am honor! Oh, and for Princess Celestia as well! What time?"

The empires sky began to get dark, then the sky opened up. Dark creatures came out of the opening. Midnight gave orders to his army and went through a portal he made under feet. Midnight was trying to get to the castle unseen... The castle actually made sure you can't go under ground and up. Midnight shot himself back up. So he switched to miasma form and slipped through the door.

"Almost... there..."

 

Resh, a large, clawed daemon lord was bent over a table, trying to add exactly ONE DROP to this new formula he was creating... trying to perfect the Guardian-class mutant design. One... more... drop...

 

Something crashed behind him, and he tipped up the chemical before anything came out, slamming his other fist down. "Black Star," he growled. "Do try to be a bit more careful? Especially since I am trying to make you additional units other than your mindless, bumbling Guardians."

 

"They fit the bill, do they not? Is this necessary? Some of my... lieutenants are getting rather paranoid that you'll blow up the hive one day."

 

"What dost thou mean? I have every respect to those in here worth respecting."

 

"One drop of fire in the wrong place, and it touches a Spawner's slime, and the entire place- as well as your new master, 'Midnight' and his castle- goes up in flames. And I personally do not think that he would like that. I certainly wouldn't."

 

"Oh, lighten up, general. See if that lazy daemon has actually opened the portal yet."

 

"Not one big enough to put our units through."

 

"Tell him to hurry up, eh? And can you also ask him to see if he could float some crystal ponies my way?"

 

The shadowy figure behind Resh nodded and slipped away.

"Inquisitor... look at this."

 

Lord Inquisitor Moon Crypt stood up and went to the window. "A cloud of dark ominousness... what do you think?"

 

"I think that something happened."

 

He nodded to his assistant. "Clever boy." He stood up and trotted through the castle near Cadence's rooms, temporary swallowing his fear of Shining Armor- he was a changeling, after all, and Shining Armor had a nasty temper and paranoia towards changelings. Cadence didn't especially mind, but Shining Armor sure did. He gulped and knocked on the door.

Midnight sent someone to get resh and black star. He tried to get in the castle as miasma but there was a force field. he would have to go in his normal form so he went to go create some chaos, and get night dart,surreal,and resh to help him. Midnight destroyed some houses and street lights until he found his colleagues....

"He wishes to see us."

 

"Already? You haven't even left the room yet." Resh sighed and put the vial back down. "And why should I be surprised? Because I'm not going to finish this formula- ever. I've been working on it for two straight RPs now and it never gets done!"

 

"As the fourth wall becomes a shattered pile of glass. Don't do that again."

 

He sighed. "Fine. Not like those viewers on the other-"

 

"No."

 

He growled. "Fine then! Let's just go and get this over, then."

He stepped through a small portal- he needed to conserve his strength- into... the Crystal Empire? Odd. And interesting. So he decided to start the attack single-handedly, ignoring all the help that he would have promised him if he had just asked. He brushed himself off and smiled, still in his spattered- and smoking- lab coat. "Yes, Oh High and Mighty Midnight?" He smirked. "What might I do for you?" The tentacled and mutated form of Black Star followed him, glaring at Midnight, the crystal ponies still running from the street, the monsters, and any sentient being in the near vicinity.

Resh I need your help getting in the castle. All my tricks didn't work. This is the time your smarts are needed the most! Wait lets wait for night dart and surreal. I will need their counciling.

 

Shining armor opened the door. "Oh it's you" shining wasn't very happy about a changeling in the army but in a time like this, he would need all the help he could get..

He grinned. "Heh... I'm flattered." He nodded and looked among the Crystal Ponies running about. "Do you mind...? I'm running low on test subjects, and I've never tried my chemicals on a Crystal Pony. If so, it gives us an entire empire of useless soldiers that work as distractions"

 

"Perhaps they could be used tactically. I'm seeing, with the current positioning, about three ways in. However, it'll consume more time and energy then I think that we have." Black Star lifted a hoof to his chin, his tentacles folding under his wings. "I don't think we want to lay siege- we don't have that style of troops for extended cutoff. That, and if there is one inquisitor- no matter what wing they are from- they send word to the Grand Inquisitor, who then sends an army to relieve them. And being attacked from both sides is not good. We'd be crushed..."

 

Black Star continued to ponder the situation. Resh looked at him for a bit before turning back to Midnight. "And that is why I obtained a military genius."

Moon Crypt smiled rather nervously. "Hello... I assure you've noticed the ominous cloud raining monsters. I wish to assist in the manner...? I'm awaiting orders, and, due to my Inquisition status, they come from the Grand Inquisitor, the Princess, or anyone like that... like you." He stood back and put his hat on. He was proud of his hat. It was the main sign of his powerful position in the Equestrian Government. "Any suggestions, sir?"

"Hmm go ahead take any pony for a test they will all either be dead or my slave anyways! Lets wait for the others to help..." Midnight saluted black star and resh. He flew away to see if he could find a way in the castle.

 

" we must not charge them yet an act too soon could end in disaster. Try to find the leader or leaders. Take them out first. I am going to check on my wife." Shining walked off bravely. Though he was really scared for this could be his last day, or his wife's last day. He went to protect her

The first thing he did was pull out his communicator. He turned it on. "Lord Inquisitor Moon Crypt here... please connect me to Grand Inquisitor Karma." There was a click a few seconds later, then what appeared to be two people talking back and forth. "Mr. Karma?" At this, the conversation halted. Then Karma came on. "You two, get out of here! Yes, Now! I'll talk to you two in a few hours. Try solving it yourselves until then." He paused. "What do you want, Lord Inquisitor?"

 

"We have... something going on in the Crystal Empire."

 

"No! That can't be why your calling me!"

 

"It i- is that sarc-"

 

"Yes it's sarcasm, you daft changeling! Now what the hell is wrong?"

 

"Daemon. Lords. Two of them. The one with the mutants and the one with the traumatic backstory."

 

"Hmph. Expect the Daemontouched to be coming in about a week. Can you hold out that long?"

"Perhaps. Hopefully. Until then, then."

 

"Yes. Keep me updated." *click*

 

He siged. This was going to be a long week... he looked outside before grinning and, in a burst of green fire, turned into a Crystal Pony, and he then galloped. along, blending in with all the panicking ponies.

Resh grinned. Excellent. He looked around. "Alright then... I'll take you- and you- and you- and you! Haha! All of this is going well so far!" He exclaimed, scooping up ponies left and right and putting them, screaming and panicking, into the portal, where they were quickly apprehended by a large group of Guardians and put into holding cells, horrified at the daemon's work.

And at this, Lord Inquisitor Karma played along perfectly. But the moment he entered the portal, he activated his invisibility device. Perfect. In his new alchemy chamber. Time to mess around until he came back...

Midnight watched resh grab the ponies "ahahahaha...AHAHAHAHA! Now you will suffer as I did! Go on and suffer...SUFFER!" Midnight was growing more powerful because he feeds on misfortune.

 

Shining armor was with his wife waiting for a monster to burst in. He would risk anything for his love cadence. "Cadence do you think your nephew is behind this?" He never knew midnight but he heard his story. He thought "if midnight is behind this...I will kill him."

"And then... yes... Yes... YES! Got it! We have to weaken the energy shield. The shield extends only about twenty feet underground. We sap our way in, and then we have our sappers destroy the field, and then we enter! Perfect! Two hours max time."

 

Resh grinned. "Excellent. Now if you excuse me... I have ponies to experiment on." He gave a sweeping flourish of a bow. "Until then, Midnight." He entered into the portal. "Now to perfect the formula..." He took out the vial and- slowly... added... one...drop...

 

BOOM.

 

The resulting explosion could be heard by Night Dart, who was still at base, looking for his assistant.

 

Once the smoke had cleared... there was nothing in the vials. It had all evaporated up. "Wha...? But... What happened?" He culled his rising anger by obliterating a drone that had been crawling around, doing nothing except waiting for orders. He looked at his table- and noticed one of the ingredient bags was open. "Who was the idiot that added nightlock to the formula?" He then noticed a small card on his table. It was a calling card- a calling card with a large red I on it. "I know who did this..." He said, growling.

 

"MOON CRYPT!!! I WILL FEAST ON YOUR SOUL THIS DAY, YOU ANNOYING LITTLE BUG!!"

Midnight liked black stars plan he was in favor of it. He detected a flaw in it though. "Black star that is a great plan except...we don't have that kind of time is there a way to do it faster?" Midnight liked having black star because he was strong and clever.

"It could work faster... but it depends on what type of troop that you have. For example, if you have any troops that specifically dig holes, that'll cut about thirty minutes off... And if you have troops specifically for magical draining, that'll decrease it once again. And, of course, if you contribute your own power..." He did some quick calculations in his head. "We will be done within thirty minutes of us beginning. Start digging here." He took a tentacle and marked an X behind a small house. As it came back, it whipped into a Crystal Pony's shop door, tearing it off of it's hinges.

 

((I know, right? I'm going to stop posting and let the others get goin'. I'm going to be gone for quite some time after this, though. Fair warning.))

"Oh good I can do this myself thanks for the help." Midnight flew off to set the plan in motion. He started digging and it Was all down hill from there.

 

Shining was pacing back and forth he wanted it all to stop but his kingdom was being destroyed! He thought "I should go and help my troops but that would mean leaving cadence and her life would beat stake." He wondered what to do...

(Silent dawn I need cadence to reply)

"I'm not sure... Though, it is highly possible that it is Midnight... I'm not sure why he would want to attack, though." Cadence said, watching Shining Armor as he paced near her in the throne room. She heard him think out loud, barely a whisper, and stopped him mid-pace.

"Shining Armor, I'll be fine. You go help your friends. If any monsters get in here, I have wings and magic. The Crystal Ponies need your help. I will try to go out and help as soon as I can."

Diamond jumped as something broke off the door to her shop. She raced outside, seeing the monsters. She looked around and saw a small filly about to be attacked. She flew over and saved her, then helped her home.

"What the hay is going on?!" She shouted.

Looking around, the young mare knew what she needed to do. Help protect the Princesses.

She darted toward the castle in the center of the Empire and landed at the entrance. Finding her way to the thro

ne room, she saw Princess Cadence and Prince Shining Armor.

"Hello..." She said., bowing "I came here to try to protect the Princess."

Night Dart disregarded the explosion from within the castle and decided to just go meet up with his Master. He exited through a window and flew to the Empire. He saw a young Pegasus enter the castle and decided to follow her. He could care less about the fate of the Crystal Ponies. He just wanted to aid his Master in his revenge, as well as himself with his own planned revenge. He lost her though, so he got lost as well. He kept close to the ceiling so as not to attract any attention from the guards.

Midnight waited for the plan to work. So he went to check on things. Midnight saw the havoc he created. He saw a filly try to attack one of his monsters. He flew over and grabbed the kid. " mischievous little bug don't you know what you're dealing with." Midnight backhanded the filly and left him to die. He met up with night dart. " alright night dart the force field is gonna die down soon then we will move in. HAHAHAHA!" Midnight remembered when he was divided into six and sealed away. "No you will not haunt me anymore"

 

Shining armor nodded he walked up to her and hugged her. "You're sure you will be okay? Holler and I will come." Shining armor darted out the door and knocked out some monsters. "I will protect my home." He tried to look for any leaders and take them but he stopped in horror. He saw the leader. It was non other than midnight and night dart. "Oh no our worst fears have been realized.

Black Star looked upon the dying filly and, behind his back, picked it up and looked at it. It reminded him of when Resh found him. He slowly lowered it into the portal, telling one of the medimutants mentally to take care of the small filly. He shook his head. Destruction was good, but he wasn't all of the KILL ALL THE IDIOTS opinion, as daemons naturally tended towards. And that was proof that he was still a sane pony, albeit an evil one. He still had his honor.

Midnight noticed black star help the kid. He went up to him. "Black star what are you doing helping the enemy!" Midnight was mad could black star be his destruction? Midnight kept a close eye on him. Midnight was insanely mad so to him he would destroy anyone who gets in his way.

Cadence hugged Shining Armor back and said, "Of course. If I'm in trouble I will call for you." As her husband left, she turned to the Pegasus.

"Hello. It's nice to meet you, despite the circumstances. I couldn't possibly let you get hurt for me, though."

Diamond Dust ruffled her wings and said,

"It's an honor, Your Majesty. I'm Diamond Dust. Also, I want to help protect you, and I will. I'm sorry but I won't take no for an answer.

Princess Cadence seemed unsure, but she let Diamond have her way, sighing.

 

Night Dart whipped past Shining Armor and entered the castle. The Princess seemed to be distracted, for the moment, as her blue force field was weak enough to fly though.. Right after he got through the magic barrier, it solidified. His Master hadn't gotten through yet. ((To give him time to let him meet and talk to Diamond Dust, it has to happen for him to be killed.))

He quickly found his way to the throne room, and started to sneak up on Cadence, but somepony vaguely familiar galloped over, spread her wings, and glared at him, ears flattened, ready to charge. They made eye contact, and Night Dart's own pale gold eyes widened as he took a step back.

"D-Diamond?"

(Okay fine by me) midnight saw the force field go down. He gave black star the "I'm watching you sign" and flew away. Midnight was confronted by a bunch of guards. He thought " mindless idiots" he wiped them out in 2 seconds. As midnight walked through he heard footsteps. All of a sudden *BUCK!* midnight was kicked by shining armor. Midnight covered his face for a few seconds to get the pain out of the way. "YOU! Your her highnesses husband! I will have the pleasure of killing you first!" Midnight was in position to fight.

 

Shining armor said "I will not let you harm a hair on her!" He looked like he was ready to fight but was really intimidated. He finally met midnight he didn't know how he would fight but he hoped for the best.

The Inquisitor sighed as he stumbled out of the portal. Well, those were five monsters dead from a knife to the back. Piece of cake. He sighed, before silently transforming into a monster that he had just destroyed. Steathily making his way up the street- by acting exactly the way he was supposed to, destroying everything in sight, and getting closer and closer to Midnight...  A knife at the ready under his magical disguise.

Black Star sighed, not noticing that the daemon was already gone. "You wouldn't understand, daemon, due to your very nature. But since I am a mere mortal, I tend to have... regrets about what I do. Perhaps a remnant of my previous childhood. I will destroy anything in my path, as long as it apposes me... I saved that filly because the battle was drastically outmatched, the target was just a filly, and he might of been able to survive had you mot attacked him. Maybe you are still insane from your imprisonment... but as soon as I lose my honor, I become the beast that is represented by my physical form." He looked up and saw that the daemon was elsewhere, and sighed. Not that he cared for his lectures on honor. He was merely a shadow- a conjuration of dark magic, a purely dark entity without any light. He liked to think as himself as having some chance of redeption, but Resh was his friend, even after what he did to him... he decided to watch for now, performing little acts of terror as a precaution against anyone coming near.

Resh growled as he watched several of the drones stumble around after being temporary blinded by the flash. As being stripped to basically mindless slaves in a half pony body, they were never exactly the best creatures to rely on in battle- or at anything, at that. He was concerned about the spawners, but, although the more intelligent ones were complaining, they were fine. There weren't any guardians around, and the sole medic was doctoring over a crystal foal that had several marks upon it- another one saved to become a Guardian by Black Star's so-called 'honor'. He didn't see what was the harm in it. It was one less body to add to the grinding machines that generated to slime that kept his mutants nourished. But for now... he started repairing the damage done, lamenting to himself that he wasn't going to be finished with the chemical this RP either.

Midnight was writing for shining to attack. Shining was doing the same. Then shining tried to ram into midnight when all of a sudden he banished. "What where did he?" Midnight cut him off by reappearing and slugging him. " oh what? Was that too much because that's nothing!" Midnight had a gaping smile. Shining was angry so he tried to ram into him multiple times. Midnight disappeared then kicked him. Then he grabbed him "why do you even try?" Midnight threw him. Shining armor got up he could hardly stand "midnight I swear to celestia if you even touch her I will kill you."

Diamond Dust's eyebrows rose as she looked at the black Pegasus that seemed to recognize her.

"Um, excuse me?"

He gaped slightly.

"Diamond Dust, it's me, Night Dart. You stuck up for me when Cadence was banishing me to the Everfree... Don't you remember?"

As he said this, the Princess walked up to them and said, "Whether or not she does, does not matter. I, at least, remember you, and how you killed eight Crystal Ponies and two of my Royal Guards shortly after I returned the Crystal Heart. I banished you, and that ban has not lifted."

((Feel free to come in whenever. I think you might have figured out what's going to happen...))

(Oh no) midnight finished shining armor and walked in to see night dart confronted. Midnight tried to get diamond dust out the way. till he was tackled by night dart. "Night dart what are you doing!" Midnight saw he had affection for the pony. (Sorry silent dawn if this makes you mad) "if your gonna help the enemy then I will take your soul down with them!" Midnight was shot with a magic laser of...light. "You again I thought I took care of you!" Shining armor walked in a bit jacked up. "Midnight you have one flaw love destroys hate!"
