New Concept Of Connecting Gamers Together

As you may have noticed, game developers are connecting tablet users with gamers by allowing them to assist them in gunfights and battles.

The first example I'll be using is Battlefield 4's Commander Mode. It appears that you can now assist your fellow teammates and friends even when you're not at home sitting in front of your computer.

Another example would be Watch Dogs. At 5:28 of the video below, a tablet user hops in and assists Aiden Pierce in escaping from the police.

There's another example, but this time it appears to be more complex. Tom Clancy's The Division allows you to control a flying drone on a tablet, dropping in and out of a live co-op game.

There's a game with a similar concept of connecting each other together which also has that kind of open-world feeling to it called Destiny.

After watching the last two videos, you might have noticed that they connect each other seamlessly, dropping in and out without a loading screen, somewhat similar to Borderlands 2, but on a larger scale.

What are your thoughts about developers connecting tablet users with gamers around the world? Do you think that this is a good idea or will tablet users abuse this power and troll around?

I think that it's a great concept, allowing tablet users to assist gamers in-game. Although there are trolls who will undoubtedly abuse this power,  it's a great way to allow gamers to have a little fun when they're away from their home gaming console and provide a different experience.

It's definitely a double-edged sword kind of idea. Sure, it's an interesting concept, and it enables people to join in on games without the use of a stationary console, but like everything else that uses the internet, it won't always be used in good nature. Making use of the ability to join games on a tablet is essentially like playing a game online or randomly browsing the internet; we would go in fully aware that there are other people doing the same thing, who might potentially troll around. It never really stops using services like these. Worst case scenario, developers of tablet-enabled games just slap a "Online Interactions Not Rated by the ESRB" label on their products and life goes on.
