She looked back down at her leg, and shut her eyes tightly.She knew that popping dislocated limbs back into place was very, very painful.

Silver Note startled as he followed Redwave's gaze to where Lyona was stirring. he cantered over to her relieved.

 

"Ma'a.... ur Lyona! You're awake!" He said with glee, not sure if he should fling his hooves around her in a hug or not..  he hesitated. then gazed down at her leg twisted out of shape.

 

He glanced at Redwave. "You wouldn't happen to be a medic would you?" Silver twitched nervously. He was still so afraid of losing Lyona.

 

Before he could think, he nuzzled Lyona's cheek gently. "You're not allowed to die you know," he told her affectionately. "I've already been there...." He hadn't told anypony about his out of pony experience, but it just slipped out! "Stay with me" He requested.... a haunting song going through his head...

Redwave chose to ignore Silver for the time. Grasping the leg, he counted down.

He snapped the leg back into place with an audible crack.

 

"Not at all, but I've dealt with my fair share of injuries. He said calmly. "You learn to deal with things like this, out at sea.

Lyona gritted her teeth to spot herself from screaming. She let out a breath, as the pain ebbed away. " Ow."

 

Slowly standing up and favoring her hind leg, she looked around at the soldiers. " Is everypony okay? No-one injured?" She called, and coughed again.

 

-Damn it. My cough is still here.-

"Two charming Pegasus mares, one confused earth pony, two blundering fools, the witch who tried to burn the forest down and myself, Madame.

 

Red relayed the ponies he had noticed around the clearing.

 

"You're injuries seem to be the worst by far, my lady."

" If a dislocated leg is the worst, then we're all good. Thank goodness I have the worst injury." She smiled, relieved. Her mind then replayed what he had said.

 

" But do not call anypony fools. Or witches. I won't have anything like that on this mission." The pegasus frowned.

"Not at all, but I've dealt with my fair share of injuries. He said calmly. "You learn to deal with things like this, out at sea.

 

"At sea?" So he was some kind of sea pony? Not the kind that swam in the water, but a sea fairing pony. Silver Nodded to Redwave.

 

"Thank you" he said. "and I... well... If I mistook you for the troublemaker... I'm sorry. My friends were in danger, Lyona was hurt and I was just.... " Scared. he thought but said "Frazzled"

 

Silver turned to Lyona.

 

 

 

" Is everypony okay? No-one injured?" She called, and coughed again.

 

" You have the worst injuries. Don't worry about us, We're a fine, rest that leg" he orderd. Not that he had any right to bark orders at his own commanding officer... but he some how felt that she needed it.

 

he turned back to Redwave, pulling him aside so that Lyona couldn't hear.

Then Silver Note softened his tone. "I'm glad you were here to help Lyona" he added. Unsure if he liked or disliked this new stallion.

Lyona rolled her eyes, and flapped her wings, hooves not touching the ground. " I'll just fly. No walking, alright?" She looked at her compass again. Now, it pointed north again.

 

" Magic compass is not crazy anymore, so the danger has passed. Hmm..." Lyona tapped her chin again.

 

" Who wants to continue with the journey, raise your hoof. I'll leave this up for a vote."

But of course, I shall curb my tongue." Red bowed deeply - it wasn't something that he could help - after the hardships of the sea, dry land constantly felt like a formal affair.

 

"My task was to locate your party. I have succeeded in it. If I was intending on leaving so soon, I already would have, my lady."

Magic compass is not crazy anymore, so the danger has passed. Hmm..." Lyona tapped her chin again.   " Who wants to continue with the journey, raise your hoof. I'll leave this up for a vote." 

 

Silver Note frowned.

 

"I vote no. I think you need to recover more before we move, wings or no wings! You just woke up from a very troubling experience. I know what that is like."  He remembered his own out of pony experience and brush with death with a shudder.

 

"Please Lyona," He begged with pleading eyes... 

 

 

'If you don't take care of yourself, you can't take care of the others."

Lyona hesitated. -Everybody is probably pretty tired... And my leg does hurt a bit...-

 

" Fine." She sighed. " We'll rest until dawn, then we continue. No later than that." She added. It was midnight, but thanks to the clouds nothing could be seen.

 

" We'll eat, then sleep. Since we finished the hay bacon, we're going to eat preserved salad today." She reached into her saddlebags and dug out bowls with salad.

((Can I just add, before I started RP'ing I had no idea that Red was going to talk so weird, it just kind of ended up that way. =] ))

 

 

"As you wish, Madame." Redwave answered. "Should you need anything, you have but to call."

 

Bowing again, he left to find a place comfortable enough to rest.

Silver Note winced at the thought of eating preserved salad... but he was hungry, and he was sure that his little friend, hidden in his mane, must be super hungry too! 

 

"It's ok little guy" he said very quietly to the parasprite. "We'll get something for you to eat soon"

 

Then he turned to Lyona and said "delicious!" and settled himself down beside her. "I'm so relived you are ok." He told her as he accepted the preserved salad. He wasn't very good at hiding his true feelings, though Cinder seemed to have been oblivious to them... everypony but her had known how he'd felt. Never mind he thought. She has a special somepony and Lyona... has such a beautiful mane and tail, and those feathers.... so soft and delicate. He noticed himself staring at her with starry eyes.  He decided to concentrate on eating... slipping a morsel here and there to the innocent little parasprite.

After Lyona had hoofed out the food, she began eating. The salad was rather tasteless, but it was still food.

 

 

 

Then he turned to Lyona and said "delicious!" and settled himself down beside her. "I'm so relived you are ok." He told her as he accepted the preserved salad. 'I was so worried that i... that we... were losing you.  I couldn't bare the thought... I mean we... none of us... could bare the thought of losing you."

 

 

The pegasus reddened slightly. She waved it off. " I promised that I'll always be here, and I intend to keep that promise. I would never abandon my friends." She smiled.

Cinder sat in the shade, listlessly pouring chemicals from one bottle to another. She sniffled quietly to herself.

 

'What were you thinking? Of course it wasn't him...'

 

For a moment she had thought that her friend had come for her: come to help than, save them. She had been so happy, so proud. Every adventure she had been on, he had been with her - for better or for worse - with each of them watching out for the other...

 

But she had been wrong.

 

True, the stallion looked a lot like Scribe, even with the obvious differences taken into account. He even acted in a similar way, if a little more... Confident.

 

'It obviously wasn't him. Why does it even matter? Get over it! Your not attached at the flank, you never needed friends before and you don't need him now. You don't need anypony! You are Cinderblock!'

 

What wouldn't she give to see her friends right now: she was feeling something she didn't realise she could, something her work usually blocked out of her mind.

Silver didn't even notice Lyona flushing. He glanced over at Cinder, dangerously playing with chemicals again. He trotted over to her and sat down beside her.

 

"Are you ok?" He asked kindly. He'd over heard her mumblings.

 

"I hate it here too" he admitted, "but we have each other.... we are all friends... You being... well the best friend I've ever had. and one of the few ponies who has ever hugged me..."

 

It was true... he'd had very few friends in his life, always keeping his distance from people, afraid they would torment him for his  dappled coat.

 

"I know you miss somepony, maybe you could write him a letter.... the mail pony is bound to show up again" He said, gazing up at the sky looking for Derpy Hooves.

 

"You dont' know how much you've inspired me" he told the sky.

 

Silver thought and thought, what could he do to cheer up his friend... a Song?

 

Of course  a song! Everypony loved a song.

 

He begin to sing an old favorite of his, acting out the appropriate bits where necessary.

((Just Cinder babbling on, no need to read if your busy, nothing important happening.))

 

 

Listening to the pegasus sing, she vented some frustration by stoppering the bottle, shaking it violently and hurling it into the forest where a plume of black smoke erupted upwards.

 

"I miss my friends Silver. She mumbled.

 

"When I met them, Scribe was an idiot who kept trying to lecture me. Symphony tried to steal out stuff and leave us trapped. Funny how things can change your view of ponies. "

 

She kicked the dirt out of frustration.

 

"We stuck together for... two years? She left, went back to the Crystal Kingdom. We moved to Ponyville. He wanted to be close to Twilight Sparkle." she smirked a little "The coward.cant even talk to her, it's a little bit sad watching him try."

 

Sighing, she slumped onto the ground.

 

"It's strange, being out here, in danger, without them. That's all. And that guy, he looks a lot like Scribe."

((( Some useless bantering from Silver Note... just cuz I can't be out done! LOL. I like hearing your backstories Cinderscribe.))

 

Silver listened carefully to Cinderblock. He wasn't sure he needed to say much... actually he couldn't think of a damn thing to say and sometimes... well sometimes somepony just needed someponyy else to listen.

 

He didn't miss anypony... mainly because he didn't HAVE anypony! His parents were never kind  or supportive. His brothers and sisters always seemed to look down on him because he pursued music rather than weather patterns, and called him "dim witted and clumsy" 

 

However, Silver understood the word loneliness. That horrible void inside that eats away at your heart and soul, threatening to devour you and leave you as just an outline. No color, light or shade. It was like being discorded, but worse, since you didn't even have a grey fill. Just... EMPTY!

 

He wanted to say all this to Cinder... but knew she needed more than silly words....

 

Silver grabbed her around the shoulders and hugged her tight. Not saying anything at all.... Just burying his face in her mane and leaving little wet droplets in it...

 

Huh?

Lyona smiled at seeing Cinder and Silver together. -Those two together is perfect. They both support one another.- 

 

She finished her bowl of salad. -Heh, it almost makes me wish I had somepony like that. But, I don't really need anypony. I can support myself, and I have supported myself before.-

 

The pegasus lay down on the ground, curled up. The feathers on her wings were messy, she had slightly burnt hair and a black and blue bruised leg. -I'm happy for them.- She went to sleep with a small smile on her face.

He pulled something from a bag that hung at his side - a brown bottle, quite different to the kind Cinder carried.

 

"Since we seem to be settling down here for a moment... Might I temp you with a drink?"

 

He rolled his eyes in anticipation of the obvious response.

 

"Purely from a medical point of view, of course. Very good for easing a ponies suffering is Brandy.

"oh him again" Thought Silver with a roll of his eyes. He excused  himself from Cinder and marched over to Redwave with a very determined look on his face.

 

'YOU!" he spat out angrily. 'You need to pay better attention. I didn't actually try to slay anypony! and I was not crying... I got hair in my eyes. If  not for your incompetence, Minty wouldn't have gotten captured and Fireblaze almost kill her... Mr .... Wonderfoal!"

 

Just as Silver said the word "Incompetence..." a little swarm of parasprites flew out of his mane all smiling cutely and buzzing around the group in a playful dance.

"it was just one cute little...... what did you call them?" Silver looked very uncomfortable. Oops... didn't know they bred that fast.

 

Embarrassed and unsettled he turned tail and took off into the woods, hoping that the little critters would follow him.but only one did... the first one. A cute little yellow bodied creature with pink wings.
