(OOC: This is my second swing at this Idea! Guaranteed to be better than the first, as editing can only improve things.)

Clear Skies, Cold Hearts

Once, there was a mare that was loved. But not by one stallion. Neigh! She captured the hearts and minds of the world. The sweep of her hoof was as the wind stirring the most gorgeous blossoms. Her mane flowed and roared like the vast oceans, catching all of the unwary in its grasp! The sun and moon duplicate on her face observed the whole world bow in awe. A name, oh what a name she has, Radiant Heart! That utterance made the mountains themselves bend in awe. For all of creation would have groveled just to be by her side.

But be wary ponies, griffons, and all things that live in harmony. Where there is beauty, there is jealousy! All of the world loved her, but none would be content until she was theirs alone. A spark, there never was one more deadly than the flint struck by Radiant Heart herself, to set the world ablaze in passion. For though the mare was loved, she could not give love to them all as they so desired. Never so lonely was there a mare as one put on a pedestal by all existence, leaving her so far away from anything and everything.

But there was one, a stallion of true nobility, the steel for the flint! His heart held only pity for her. He alone saw past her beauty and witnessed the agony inside. His name, Dawn Sky! Never was there such a name that captured the hatred of all living beings into one place. Because it was he alone that Radiant Heart came to love, and learned to truly be her other half! In rage, the world collected struck at itself quicker than the lash of a viper; tearing all that was asunder! But my brothers and sisters, this time has long been forgotten; hidden away from all hearts and souls but two, for the sake of peace and harmony! It is we few that remember, we remember the day that the Sky fell!

Intro Summary:

At one point in Equestria there was a mare named Radiant Heart. Everyone, including Celestia and Luna, was completely enamored with her. So, they all started fighting amongst themselves for the right for her to be their lover. But because she was so idolized, she couldn't have any friends or actual lovers because they would be killed or hurt by everyone else. She meets a stallion, the pegasus Dawn Sky, who for some reason is the only one to understand what she's going through, they bond and fall into true love. Of course, the rest of the world notices and turns to fight him instead of themselves, as Radiant Heart feared would happen. Some supernatural event occurs, 'the day the Sky fell', that ends all the fighting. Afterwards there was a cover-up so that everyone could go back to their normal lives. But someone was smart enough to write the whole event down so that the lesson learned would be preserved.

 

Story Plot:

After the return of Luna to Equestria, the world began to balance itself out. Celestia had a hard time managing both the day and night, causing weather patterns to change. Now that they have returned to normal, a shift has taken place that has not occured since before Luna was banished. Mount Eversleep, the tallest and most harsh mountain in the world, has warmed slightly. While still bitterly cold and unforgiving, it is now possible for life to exist there, if properly prepared. Perma-frost near the bottom of the mountain has melted, eroding to reveal ancient structures and knowledge.

 

As such, Canterlot University has carefully planned for months, keeping a tight cap on the information. While Equestria is a trusting and wonderful place, something about Mount Eversleep makes all that go there uneasy. So it was decided to tell no one but the most trusted advisors of the shift, so that academic study could begin and operate unimpeded. Oddly enough, not even the Celestial Sisters were told this secret. Now your character has been selected to be part in an elite group that will scale to the summit of Mount Eversleep and discovers what secrets lie within!

 

Rules: (I don't have many, so they're simple.)

1. No Meta-Gaming, God-modding, or anything that you shouldn't know/be able to do. Your pony cannot suddenly mutate into a dragon or so forth.

2. Sub-plots: I like them, but if it starts to drag the rp off course, you will be asked to stop. Leading to rule number three.

3. Arguing: I will not allow it. That is not to say that one cannot have a polite debate over an issue. But at the first sign of emotional conflict, the conversation will be ended.

4. Content is to be kept to PG-13. The site has rules about it and I'm already toeing the line.

5. If  you read these rules and want to apply, put the phrase 'the sky is clear' in your application in a noticable place.

(Otherwise, let your creativity explode and splatter pretty colors and ideas all over the place!)
 

Character Requirments: (Really basic.)

1. Name

2. Race (Anything sentient but dragons. Be careful which you choose, as I watch this closely.)

3. Age (I doubt fillies are going on this trip, but if you give a good reason I'll accept.)

4. Cutie Mark/Abilities (Run free with this, just make it awesome!)

5. Literacy (I try hard to be as descriptive as possible.)

6. If you read this post carefully you will know what this requirement is for applications.
