Aquila seethed as 'Laverna' began to shout for guards. Stopping as he reached Deadeye, he turned to face 'Laverna'. He had had enough of these mind games of hers.

"One of the saboteurs decided she wanted to get even. Feel free to put a few bullets in her - my status should be enough to handle the guards easily enough." Aquila sputtered between breaths, making sure he said the first part loud enough for any nearby pedestrians to hear. If she was going to play the crowd, so would he.

Storm kept up the shouting as long as it took her to reach the ponies. Flying was definitely faster and more effective, she reached the two just seconds after Aquila had stopped. The guards weren't far either.

"I wouldn't shoot any captain of the coalition" she stated, pulling out of her saddlebags a golden piece of metal, engraved with the name of whoever had been unlucky enough to get lifted by Storm earlier that month, but marks were a useful asset. "I'm captain" - she took a quick look at the golden object in her hooves to read the name on it - "Fast Forward" What a stupid name, I could have probably come up with a better one "and you two are charged for several federal violations".

She whispered over to Aquila "So, sweetie, how do you like it now, staring at the flank of a captain?" she bluffed, knowing that her fake coming out as captain wouldn't stand very long. Even this dumbpony must notice after a while it's not true

"Shut your mouth, Storm!" he called. "Your lies won't work here! I know ya! Why the hell are you messing around with this stallion anyway? I gave you a job to do!" Celestia and Luna could be killed any minute, and all of these crazy ponies just wanted to buck around. "Get your lazy flank over here!"

Damn, I knew Dead Eye would be a hard one. Her situation wasn't easy at all. She was in the middle of a crowd, surrounded by a lot of guards and the slightest error would cost her her life. Her only option was to get rid of the guards ASAP.

"Shut your own mouth, you bastard!" she yelled back. This time it was not part of a role, she was close to panicking. She needed to throw in some pills urgently, her body was sweaty and she had a hard time trying to concentrate.

"You traitor! You left us sitting on the last mission!" her anger boiling. "We did the job and you left us there, saved your own sorry flank!" she knew it was all lies, but fear made her go on. "But it is over now! I'm gonna throw you into a dark pit where you can rot for eternity".

For her, Dead Eye was responsible for the failure of the last mission. Although he got what he wanted and she got pay, her best friend who had done every job with them died due to an error in planning, Dead Eye was good at being hard and knocking everything over. But not at plotting his way in and out.

She on the other side preferred a more silent approach, watch the enemy, study it and then with a single quick and painless blow to eliminate it. Manipulation was her strength and swift and powerful strikes her tool. She did never wield a gun and wasn't planing on doing so for a while.

[Needed to make some backstory for this two. In order to explain her behavior and being after checking the plan.]

"You had to dive head first into that changeling hive!" she then took a few deep breaths. Restoring her calm façade she said addressing the guards "I'm gonna take this two to my ship and gonna present them to a military trial".

He shook his head. Crazy mare. He remembered that mission. He tried to save her, but that damn mare had to be the hero. He leaned over to Aquila and whispered, "Play along for a bit, then we'll bring her down. We can't do this in front of the guards." He then turned back to Storm. "Fine. We'll go peacefully."

Aquila was about to expose Storm when Deadeye spoke up, claiming that she was working for him.

Figures, Aquila thought, grimacing. She's not even honest around her employers.

The debacle that followed however revealed something else about their relationship. Storm didn't hold back when she hollered at him - it was a genuine mixture of panic and anger, all directed at Deadeye. Perhaps there was more to this encounter than her general trickery. Nevertheless, she revealed to Aquila time and time again that she was a master of facade, and not to be trusted. Perhaps the name he gave to her was more appropriate for the mare than her own name.

That wasn't all, however. Storm's suspiciously genuine anger and Deadeye's involvement with her mired prior relations. He might have thought the merc was dense before, but employing Storm? She went behind his own back, sure, but he still employed the mare. He'd play along for now, but as soon as an opportunity presented itself, he'd take it.

Aquila didn't care if he had to put a bullet in each of their legs, they would play his game. And if it came to it... Well, he had a feeling a grizzled merc and a two-faced saboteur wouldn't be missed.

Storm disarmed the two stallions and ordered them to move. She was relieved none of the guards had offered to help her with them and walk her to 'her' ship. As soon as she lost sight of the guards she directed the group to where she felt safe, a dark and narrow alley.

Her legs were trembling and her whole body shaking. Fear, shock and anger sharing her mind and confusing the mare. She felt dizzy and lost her balance, leaning onto a wall and letting the heavy guns fall to the ground below her.

She had always relied on her emotional distance to everything. She had left behind what had happened, locked it deep inside her mind and drowned every bit of a memory in pills and alcohol. But everything was coming up again, her past was catching up with her.

The danger of two adult stallions keen on killing her was secondary right now. She craved a shot. Fiddling with the latch of her saddlebags with such shaky hooves proved difficult, desperate she threw the bag to the floor and collapsed to her haunches.

She started sobbing, overwhelmed by her situation, everything had gone alright this time, but it could have gone terribly wrong. She retried on the bag, this time the latch gave in and the bag opened, spilling it's contents on the floor. She picked up the orange plastic container labeled codeine and threw in some pills. Relaxing almost instantly by the mere knowledge she would feel better soon.

Looking down at their weapons, Aquila shook his head. Though the flow of emotion was certainly genuine, it arrived at a bad time. Grabbing the weaponry with his magic, Aquila teleported to the other side of the alley, maintaining enough distance from Deadeye and Storm that he could gun them down long before they reached him.

"Now," Aquila began, aiming his weaponry at both ponies, "I'd like you to get against the wall, Deadeye. I want answers, and both of you are going to give me them."

Aquila didn't wait for Deadeye to comply, instead continuing. "Who are you, how do you know Storm? And you must have employed Storm for a reason, so what was she supposed to do, and what are you planning to do?"

He sighed, shaking his head as if to say 'I'm too old for this crap...'.

"First of all, stop making a fool of yourself, and put the weapon down. I'm...me. I worked with Storm in the past, and I recruited her for some basic reconnaissance, which was apparently too much for her," he said bitterly, looking at Storm with spite. "She needed to get some of the CoE data from the royal database to help me understand the reasoning between an attempted assassination of Princess Luna which I thwarted this morning. I plan to track down exactly where this assassin was from and put an end to their plans. Good enough for ya?"

He looked at him impatiently, not going to the wall as ordered.

Slicer nodded. "Okay then...we go...and talk...and make money. Sounds...nice." He said, looking up from a bug on the table to smile at Metal Gear before he finished his drink...and in his food before he jumped to his hooves. "Lets go...right now...come on." He said, laughing and skipping towards the door.

Storm coughed up some laughs as she listened to the conversation. "This is so sweet! Why not blame it all on the emotionally unstable..." - the thought of her name made her shudder - "mare!".

She loosened the grip of the hidden blade until the metallic piece slid of her leg, the sound of it hitting the ground echoing from the walls. "You want to know who I am? I'm not going to tell you" she said, while starting to slowly move towards the pony on the other end of the alley.

"This is my problem and it has nothing to do with your sorry flank. So please, shoot me if you want! You'd be dong me a great favor."

(Mastigia - Latin word for scoundrel or rascal. Amusingly, also a genus of moth.)

Aquila ignored Deadeye, keeping his weapons at the ready. He had the advantage now, to simply surrender it would be madness. Storm's approach however worried him. Even disarmed, he knew the mare would attack him given the opportunity. He took a few steps back.

"I know how you work, mastigia. Take another step closer and I'll blow your kneecaps off," Aquila warned, firing at the ground in front of Storm.

"And I know your name, but I don't know you. Why should I trust you, Deadeye?" Aquila continued, determined to understand exactly what his situation was.

"What a waste of ammo! Look," she said lowering her head until it was the height of her knees - "If you shoot my head you just need one shot and I won't be rolling around in pain and making unnecessary noise." She had grown to be reckless with her body and to stop fearing death, so she continued her slow advance towards the unicorn.

But she was curious, "How do I work? Did you read my past off my flank while you were staring at it? No mister, this is not how it works."

"I'ma comin' don't ya go worryin'" Metal Gear smirked, finishing his own drink. "But first I really gotta go 'n' put this in the ship, t'aint safe walkin' round with a cannon on yer back ya know" he knocked his brace indicatively as he stood up and walked past Slicer, out of the door and into the street in the direction of the ship.

"And I know your name, but I don't know you. Why should I trust you, Deadeye?" Aquila continued, determined to understand exactly what his situation was.

"Well, to start, I'm not the one currently trying to kill you..." he said, eying Storm. "Secondly, I'm not trying to build or destroy nations. I have no grand scheme. I don't want to kill anypony. I just want to keep ponies safe....and I would like any help I can get. Now point that weapon somewhere smarter. It'll do no good against me anyway."

Aquila continued to back up, firing another round in front of Storm. He had no reason to kill her currently, however her head was in the way of any non-lethal shots - any exposed portions weren't worth the risk of potentially hitting her head, and Aquila didn't trust his aim as much as he used to.

"Even if I did swing that way, there's a reason I named you after the goddess of trickery. You cannot be trusted, now stop," he ordered, staring at the mare.

"As for you, Deadeye, I suppose. Could you reign in your partner?" He continued, not taking his eyes off Storm. "My patience, and my conscience, are wearing thin."

[...] "My patience, and my conscience, are wearing thin."

[Just a heads up, Storm is angry and says stuff even she would probably regret at a later point. I don't share 'her' views]

Storm coughed at the sudden display of force of Dead Eye, he was way bigger and stronger than her and her neck was paying the consequences. She pushed herself away from him again, "No, I'm not Ok" - he was the last pony she wanted to have close to her right now.

"So..." she said addressing Aquila "What can the goddess of trickery" she said with a fake seductive tone "do for the coltcuddler with the gun?". She returned her gaze to Dead Eye and continued with a mocking voice - "This time it's you who has to fear getting assaulted, prepare your rear!"

Perfectly aware that she was going to far, she wanted to push the situation. He would probably not shoot her for making jokes about his preferences, but he'd probably answer faster and explain what he wanted from her and Dead Eye.

He didn't look like someone who would stay if he didn't knew that either Dead Eye or Storm had something he wanted or needed. But she didn't want to wait for an answer-

(Don't worry about offending me, where I come from it's considered a requirement to dissociate one's self from their character. It ensures actions taken in an RP don't incite personal feuds. By the way, I'm curious: any chance of Storm lightening up to Aquila? In my experience all players are a part of a single group, but since this RP works a bit differently, I'm trying to figure out who is going to end up joining the main party.)

Aquila snorted, rolling his eyes. The first thing Storm does when he reveals his sexuality is make juvenile jokes about it.

"Anyways, what is your actual name, and why did you drag me to your house?" Aquila asked, now directing all their firearms on her. He didn't expect a reliable answer, but Deadeye seemed to know a thing or two about Storm. If she wouldn't tell him anything, then he'd have to ask Deadeye, or figure it out himself. Either was satisfactory, as long as she gave him some sort of answer.

Truth be told, Aquila just wanted to leave. Storm was nothing but trouble. The farther he was from her, the better - for his nerves, and his health.

Slicer casually followed behind Metal Gear, staring straight at the back of his partner's head, with his usual crazy smile.
He would occasionally glance over and wave at groups of ponies who all gave him rather...scared looks.

He chuckled and looked back up at Metal Gear. "So why not just keep the cannon on? Who gives a buck. It'll keep you protected and...stuff."

Cerberus sat in his ship, yet again. There was no gravity or oxygen-supplies, as he needed none. He swam-float his way over to his work-table, which was attached to the top wall. He grabbed the small, drill-like tool with his levitation magic, and swung his leg around to meet the tip. He started to repair his leg, which had been acting up quite a bit since the last, bloody battle alongside his last master.

That's when it hit him. A master. He was programmed to serve, and his programming demanded him to find one to serve. He tried to ignore it, yet it overcame him and quickly "flew" over to the ship's controls. His hooves tapped a few buttons, and it went into hyperspace. His programming let go of him, and gave him control again. He really hated when that happened.

(OOC: Melly, I'll let you pick the landing point, like last time.)

He was growing tired of this. He spied a strong metal bar on the side of the building they were next to. Suddenly he let out a pill which exploded and covered everything in smoke. He handcuffed her to the bar, the key thrown at Aquila. Out of the fog he shouted, "Meet me at my ship!" before disappearing.

He wandered off and decided to lie low for an hour or two. He went off to an abandoned part of town, long forgotten. It was dark, wooden, and rustic. He stayed there. Suddenly, there was a loud crash and fiery explosion as something big landed into a nearby building. "Oh dear Luna!" he yelled, picking up his weapon and running at it, making sure to be careful. What the hay could it be?
