no! I can't go to the hospital! What if they decide I need to stay there for a bit, that would be torture! she thought.

 

"Can we just go back to the lodge, I promise if my hoof gets any worse ill go to the hospital." She begged, "please?" She said, reluctantly getting on his back. Snowdream new the help was necessary to get down the mountain but felt awkward accepting it,like she was admitting defeat.

 

"Snow, trust me. I've had sport injuries before. I've had an injury like that, and if it doesn't get the proper treatment, it's going to get worse. Okay?", Scorching reasoned with her, as he started to head down the slope slowly, to make sure that he doesn't hurt Snowdream much. "If the doctor or nurse says that it's just minor, then we'll head straight back to the lodge, ok?"

 

They both hit the bottom of the slope, with Scorching looking around for some sort of infirmary or hospital or anyplace.

Once Scorching and Snowdream both got inside the hospital, he immediately went to the front desk, being greeted by a mare behind it.

 

"Hello, what can I help you with?"

"Hi, my ma--" 

 

Whoa, whoa, wait. Do I even call her my marefriend? I mean... Yeah, I like her, and she likes me because she called me hot... Or I think that was because of my skin... Which was it? DUDE! You got a hurt mare on your back, so get your flank outta that business and help her!

 

"My friend got injured in a skiing accident, and I think she might have sprained her hoof... Do you think that we could see a doctor right away?"

"Hmm... Well, yes, I believe so. Just head down the hallway here, and just take the fourth right. That's the X-ray room, I'll request a doctor to be with you."

"Perfect. Thank you so much, ma'am. Hear that, sweetie? We'll get you checked out really soon.", Scorching replied with a smile, not realizing he had called her 'sweetie'...

Snowdream stayed silent while she was on his back as he talked to the mare at the desk. There were a few ponies in the waiting room, Snowdream looked at them, trying to guess what kind of injuries they all had. She tuned into the very end of Scorchings conversation with the desk mare. He turned his attention to her and sai something.

Still not realizing his one word, Scorching headed down the hallway with Snowdream, appearing in the X-ray room, seeing that a doctor was already inside the room.

 

"Ah, so this is the young mare that I've been told about?"

"Why don't you place her in this chair here?"

"Got it. Here we go.", Scorching replied, putting Snowdream in the chair carefully.

"Thank you, lad. I'll just need to take some X-rays, that's all."

"OK. Snow, I'll wait out for you in the lobby, okay? I'll see you soon." 

 

Scorching went ahead back towards the lobby, before stopping and then horribly blushing. "I just called her sweetie..."

 

"Ah, yes... So, young mare, could you tell me your name? And how you were hurt?", the doctor asked her.

"Ah, ice patches... If I had a bit for every time I had a patient who came here to me for that... Don't worry, ma'am, this will go by fast..." During the few minutes of putting a lead vest on Snowdream, having her hoof X-rayed, and receiving the pictures later, the doctor had came back smiling. "Good news! Luckily, this is just a mild sprain to your hoof. But, it's still a sprain, so you'll need to stay off of it for a few days. I have a set of crutches you could use, or unless your coltfriend is so nice enough to carry you everywhere.", he joked with a chuckle.

Once they had gotten back to the lodge, Scorching turned over to Snowdream, smiling at her and putting a wing around her back as a form of her hug. "I'm just glad it wasn't anything serious... I wouldn't know what I would do if you got hurt even worse than a sprain..."

Star blushed slightly as Dusk placed his scarf around her neck. "Th-Thanks..." She said, almost slipping again as she pulled off her skis and followed him back towards the mane building.

 

 

Fire decided she had spent enough time in the spring and decided to get out.

She grabbed a towel and started drying herself off as she made her way back towards her room.

Dusk helped her return her rented skis, and walked her back inside the warm building. He ordered her a hot chocolate before walking her over to the hot, crackling fireplace in the lobby, hoofing her the drink and gesturing for her to sit. He sat down besides that seat, placing his hoof on the backrest.

She mumbled something about not wanting to get a cold before she looked up at Dusk. "So...I heard the hot springs are r-really nice, and you're allowed to b-bring the hot chocolate in if you're careful not to spill it...would you w-want to go there? It's outside and the snow m-melting in the steam is really pretty." She said, giving one of her usual shy smiles.

She cleared her throat and tried to speak a little louder than just her usual whisper. "D-Dusk...um...the springs...Are that way." She said, pointing in the opposite direction that they were walking as a blush spread across her striped cheeks.

"All this meeting new ponies, skiing, crashing, it's tiring business i tell you!" Snowdream said trying to keep a straight face.

 

Scorching smiled, moving a bit to where Snowdream was resting her head on his chest, his wing now back to his side, and his hooves now hugging her around her stomach. "Well, at least I've got a large amount of stamina.", he teased, then chuckling afterwards. "I'm kidding. This really has been an eventful day. Skiing, hospital visits, and now just relaxing here with the most beautiful mare I've met in my life..." He started to trail off, now realizing what he had said...

Minath chuckled, and took the flask back from Rambler. If she knew her parents, they would more likely than not ban her from Rambler. Sometimes it was good to be an orphan.

 

"Ya' know, I was the one to turn Lightning Storm into an alicorn. He trained under me for five years. When I first met him he was a weather Pegasus. I said to him, 'you want to be a guard, right?' and he said 'yes ma'am.' I said to him 'prove it' and he picked up a brander, and branded my cutie mark on his wing. That kid was either so smart or a total dumba***" Minath said, reminiscing.

I'll be right behind to make sure that you don't screw anything up, all right?"   ...Crap, that sort of came off as if I was scolding him...

 

((I'm so sorry I kept you waiting for so long. I was trying to wait for Minath, and then I got distracted by other things.))

 

Rush nodded. Slowly, he started moving forward. Before he knew it, he was gliding downhill, just like he used to. He was surprising even himself with how quickly he had gotten back into his groove. Maybe it was because he was so surprised that he didn't pay attention to where he was going for a few seconds and the next thing he knew he was face first in the snow.

Rambler thought for a while. "I think it's probably the latter. Still, you have to admire that kind of dedication. Of course, he was probably really just thinking about being able to spend time with such an amazingly beautiful mare."

"Oh please. I'm pretty sure my trainees made me sound like a monster. But after a while we became friends. When I told Celestia I was graduating him, she asked me if I thought he could become an alicorn. She suggested I learn the spell and be the one to do it, and that's the story of Lightning Storm the alicorn." Minath said and took a swig from the flask.

Minath blushed as Rambler ran his hoof along her side. She was still new to this whole "physical affection" thing. While not unwanted, it was a foreign concept to her.

 

"Oh, I don't thing me abusing that power is even possible. I was so worn out I couldn't use magic for weeks." She said, and drank more whiskey.
