@,

Rambler couldn't help but chuckle a bit. "Why do you have to be so negative? Here I am, coming up with this beautiful metaphor to tell you how fantastic you are, and you have to go and ruin it by saying something like that," he said jokingly.

"And I certainly don't need diamonds. I have you, which is more than enough."

@@Alex Kennedy,

"Well, because I'm a negative pony. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst. In my line of work, the worst is usually what happens." Minath said in a tone way to light for her words.

"And diamonds are worthless. They're just sparkly rocks. I do like the rainbows though."

@,

Rambler chuckled. "Well, you may be negative, or at least pragmatic, but I love you for it. At least one of us has to keep all four hooves on the ground. And you're right about diamonds. That's why I don't need them. You're the only beautiful thing I need, and you're worth far more than they are."

@,

Rambler smiled and nodded. "Of course. Ireland is a beautiful place. The green hills and fields, the blue ocean, all the birds and other critters. And the ponies there are some of the nicest, most fun-loving ponies you'll ever meet. Of course, if you mess with them they aren't about to back away from a fight. I remember growing up in Stallionshire, you could hear singing and laughing coming from the pub every night, and more often than not you could hear fights break out, only to be completely forgotten as soon as they were over and both parties would go back to being the best of friends. I promise, some day when you have the time, I'll take you there, and you'll be able to meet my whole family, and see the beauty of the countryside for yourself."

@@Alex Kennedy,

Minath smiled and laid in Rambler's arms, enjoying the feel of another pony's body heat. She pictured the streets of Stallionshire, the pubs and the ocean.

"I would offer to bring you to Manehatten, but I bet you've already been there. And there's nothing to see. Just grey."

Rambler enjoyed the feeling of her body against him, although he couldn't help grimacing for a moment at the pressure on his still full stomach. "Well, I've been to Manehattan a few times, but it's a big place. There's still plenty I haven't seen. And there must be something good there, after all, it produced you, the greatest marefriend ever."

@@Alex Kennedy,

"I am a production of my environment. Manehatten would've been wonderful for me if I hadn't been raised in the darker side of it. There's probably things you could tell me that I don't know." Minath said, a hint of bitterness in her tone.

"I only remember one street of the whole city. Depressing, huh?"

Freezing hung back to see how Rush did, instead of speeding past him like she planned. Once he hit the bottom, Freezing nodded, and sped down the hill, in some ways dangerous to even go down there quickly. She swerved through multiple trees, spreading snow throughout her turns. That was up until a patch of ice caught her off balance, and right close to Rush. She was about to hit him head on, and there was no stopping her...

"LOOK OUT!!", she called out, but it was too late. She crashed right into Rush, sending her into a deep bank of snow.

@@Snowdream,

Scorching nodded off, and headed down towards the hot springs with Snowdream.

They finally got there, seeing that one of the springs was completely vacant, perfect for the two of them. Scorching was about to step right in, but he still had his gear on...

"Right... I should take these off.", he said, stripping of the coat, pants, boots and hoodie he had underneath, until he was wearing nothing at all. He smiled at Snowdream, motioning a hoof to the springs. "Mares first."

Snowdream was finally getting used to limping o three hooves, raising her I juyred one away from harms way, when they reached the hot springs. She made her way into the room and towards the water. She dipped a hoof in and sighed, the temperature of the water was perfect.

She entered the hot spring and relaxed, enjoying the warmth of the water.

"Come on in, the waters amazing!" She called to Scorching.

Scorching nodded, deciding to trick her. He took a running start into the spring and leaped into the air. But then, he descended down slowly with his wings, slowly submerging into the water, and floating over to Snowdream. "I'm not like that guy. I wouldn't do that. Especially since you're in here.", he replied, moving over to hug her with a hoof.

Rambler shrugged. "Well, at least you got out. Now you have one of the most important jobs in all of Equestria, you're close with the princess, and you have a stallion that loves you more than anything. I think it worked out pretty well for you in the end."

@,

Rush watched her struggling to get up with a concerned look on his face. "Are you injured? Here, maybe I should just carry you back to the lodge."

"No...really, that was very kind of you. I was worried I would come here and...well, not meet...and if I did, I thought they would be like most ponies and just talk over me because they can...but you're different..."

"Thanks for saying so, sweetie. That means a lot."

"I um...I...sorda...kinda...I...think I...have a crush...on...you..."

"W-what? Y-you do? Um...I...I sort of like you too..." he muttered.

She smiled and blushed, looking down into the water...now what was she supposed to say?

She gulped and looked back up at Dusk, opening her mouth to speak...but she closed it a moment later, still blushing. She squeaked and looked Back down into the water, trying to come up with something else to say. "Uh...r-really?" She asked, mentally facehoofing.

His blush became more intense. He hugged her back, but let his wings hang back, drifting in the hot water. He looked back into her eyes; her marvelous, beautiful eyes and smiled weakly. "U-um...h-how about we meet up at your room....at six...?" he asked. It was currently around 2 pm. "B-but for now...let's relax..."

((You should be fine. And you're right, this is getting to be a pretty long day.))

Rambler smiled. "Maybe Manehattan had a positive effect on you, even if you don't realize it. It's part of your past, and it helped to shape who you are now. But anyway, I guess it doesn't really matter so long as you're happy with your life the way it is now."

"I love my life the way it is now. My life is amazing. Even better now with you in it. To think, I could've ended up with a alicorn. Did you know that all the alicorns Celestia set me up with is the reason I dislike alicorns? Jerks, the bunch of them." Minath said, giggling.

Rambler shrugged. "Well, Nightfall didn't seem like that much of a jerk. Of course, he got pretty bitter about losing out to me. Honestly, you're the only alicorn I know who's really nice. A lot of them seem to think that their better than everyone else. I guess it's probably partly the orphanage that humbled you."

"That's probably right. After all, being made fun of for being different tends to make that one view their rarity as a curse, not a gift." Minath said, and sighed. "I guess that's why Note and I are such good friends. Did I ever tell you about her?"

"Well, now at least you've found a place where people respect you for the things that make you different. And a stallion who loves you for them." Rambler nuzzled her and kissed her on the cheek. "I don't think you ever did mention anyone named Note, no. Who's that?"

@@Alex Kennedy,

"She's my best friend. I met her the first time I went to the Gala. Heck, that was 10 years ago. I was scared out of my freakin' mind and hid behind the musician's stage. At the time Note was apprenticed to Octavia, so she was behind the stage too. At the time I think that was when she was learning the piano, her 2nd instrument.  She drew me out of me protective shell, and we became friends quickly. 3 years after we became friends, we were about 15 at the time, she told me that she was a filly-fooler. I had my suspicions before, but I didn't mind. Note had always felt like an outcast, and when Octavia found out Note was kicked out. Note lives with me now, she was out at her marefriend's the night you met me." Minath sighed, and sighed out of nostalgia.

Rambler was quite surprised. "How is it that I didn't know about her until now? I mean, maybe I don't need to know every facet of your day-to-day life, but if someone lives with you, I think that's worth mentioning. Especially if she's a filly-fooler. I don't want her getting any ideas about my mare." He grinned and nuzzled her, obviously joking around about the last part.

@@Alex Kennedy,

Minath laughed.

"I didn't think it to be relevant. After all, she makes it so she's always at her marefriend's house when you come over. When she became open she didn't like spending time with other ponies as much anymore. Did you really think nopony ever stayed in those extra rooms?" Minath said, and laughed again.
