Morgan Card, an atypically happy teen, whom both luck and fate seem to have taken a shine too.

 

(BTW Scout, did you make a profile like you suggested?  I’d be interested to hear more about him, whether luck has always been on Morgan’s side and if the last name Card is an actual sirname a stagename of some kind.)   

 

I'll work on making a profile in the proper section today. When I originally thought up the concept of Morgan, Card was just the first surname I thought of. The whole "wildcard" thing came almost a year later.

Emily Winters, a shy but talented violinist and bookstore worker. (Had Ocean not beaten me to the punch, I would have suggested something like world manipulation through music.  What we need to ask now is what else we could derive from the magic of music...)

 

How about...she can manipulate things with her music as well as boost her friends abilities?

She could play a song and if her friends heard it they would feel stronger...or something.

Reminds me of the Bards from Dragon Age. They'd go happily singing a song in the middle of war and motivate their allies all the time

Indeed Agent.  The base concept is a staple of tabletop rps too, though with some minor alterations;

 

Moving right along; I actualy think this sounds like a good foundation to work from.  Anyone who's played WOW can get an idea of what inspiration music can do, play the right notes and you can inspire an army. We make have to tweak it a little as the power evolves, but I like it

Oooo, what about a young card conjurer? Has a mundane job obviously, but has ambitions for the shining stage. To be thrown into a world where magic genuinely exists? MindBLOWN!

So I added guitar to Emily's backstory just because she sings...and you can sing while playing guitar...because singing and playing the violin can be kinda difficult considering its placed below your chin...eeeeeeyup.

Silas is just the human form of my OC Slaes, who is part of a family that have joined forces with these demon-y type folks in order to gain power, though it does have a cost. I just haven't had time to finish up Silas' personality profile yet so right now he's basically a gun-toting maniac (minus the gun).

I would use Olivia but her powers are pretty much the exact same as InvisiblePinkUnicorn's, Illium isn't original enough (she's a Siren), Eos is kinda dry sometimes (she's a body-hacker, basically), Carullo (my other tulpa) doesn't want to have his OC participate, Wesley is too violent, Luce is too angry, Thalia is too crude.

All my human characters are too messed up besides Liv. XD 

I have a thing for the evil people.

Lastly, we have our little Chandra, the girl who is ever ‘going with the flow’ whose curiosity will no doubt be the end of us all.

 

(Starshine’s going for a more classic ability, that would effectively equate to super-speed.  My temptation when approaching such powers is to suggest a twist of some sort.  She’s physically week, yes?  So what if, rather than just being ‘fast’, she’s actually fooling around with air resistance in some respect, effectively slipstreaming through the world.  Remember this will only gradually become as powerful as you have described, but an easy way to start would be the apparent dodging of an aggressive attack where her personal slipstream actually directed the blow around her.  Sound good?)

 

You mean she's partially an airbender, in that the surrounding air resistance and such is under her control? That's actually a good idea

 

Yeah, in my mind she would learn about her ability from the first encounter with the enemy. The striking weapon would look much slower to her point of view and her body would feel much lighter than it should be.

Presently I'm trying to get the initial post finished and up before midday, though this may be a struggle.  Unfortunately the time I have to work with has been drastically reduced due to a last minute let down for one of my friends.  She's supposed to be moving to Preston today, which is a good two hours away.  Unfortunately the chap who promised to take her has given back-word at the last possible hour and I'm the only one available last minuet with a car >.>

Just so we're clear, I wasn't expecting the RP to start when I posted that last post, I was saying that with it being 3am is generally the time i'll go to sleep, so time zone differences will likely interfere with how active I can be at the same time as others considering i'll have to cut the time I stay awake by about 7 hours. It shouldn't be too bad though.

I have decided that I will go through with using Silas; however, I will make him much less evil as time goes on. Because I really want to flesh him out a bit as a character. If that's all right with you all.

Otherwise I will modify Olivia's power and make her either a chronomancer or like my OC Luce.

Well the intro is almost ready to go, hopefully I'll have it up after I get home from work. As you may have guessed I too am over the pond in good old blighty, so my post times are a little skued.

Ocean, did you have a think about profile or a more fitting power?

Also firesky and myself were discussing a possible new pony breed for the players transformation. How would everyone feel about an unpredictable species change? If people want I can reveal it to them via pm, or if you'd rather have a surprise we could just roll with it?

I was under the impression we would be choosing a race of our own selection for our people to transform into?

Either way I don't really mind what happens, thinking about it, if we have the DM change our characters for us, then for me at least it will give me a feeling of not being in control of my own fate. After all, there's no real point roleplaying if you know what's going to happen is there?

That'd be absolutely fine Agent, to be honest I think I worded that post wrong.  I'm not going to force a transformation on anyone who had plans already in mind, just offering an alternative if anyone would prefer a surprise.  Give me a yell via pm if you already had your heart set on something else  

 

Don't worry about getting left behind Fire.  Like I said  before, should be taking their time with posts, there's no race to be first.

 

(ps. sorry first post is taking so long.  I'm a little bit of a wood carver when it comes to posts, everything has to be just right.)
