"Erm... Guys? Sorry to interrupt everything that's been happening all around, but... I have to get back to my farm as soon as possible. The apples aren't gonna buck themselves, and I really need to do something urgent... Is it okay if I take the midnight train back to Ponyville? You guys don't need to come with me if you want. Actually, I insist that you stay here and rest, since you all look very tired. I can rest on the train, I guess... Nothing that a few good ol' apples can't do for ya! Haha...", said Applejack

 

The quiet Doctor turned his attention to Applejack, who seemed a little anxious to leave.

 

"Um...hi again Applejack. If you must leave, than I see no problem. As long as you can get out of here safely. I mean, Discord is still active out there, no doubt about that, so you better be careful." The Doctor tried to warn her.

 

He looked at her rather closely. He was indeed reminded of his companion/lover Rose Tyler...just by the look of her blonde mane.

 

"S-Sorry if I stare....it's just, you really remind me....of someone I miss....more than the world.." The Doctor explained rather despondently.

The Doctor's eyes widened at the mention of a good opportunity. He was not sure though. It had been several hours since he traveled in the TARDIS and he was a little afraid to do so again. But this orange pony seemed...special to him. Maybe offering her a ride back in his TARDIS, would remind him of the good times he had with Rose...which was he always wanted, regardless of those memories making him feel both sad and happy. 

 

"Fastest way huh? Well Applejack, you have not seen my TARDIS. You wanna see it? It's parked right outside of here?" The Doctor asked giving a confident smile.

 

He then turned to Pinkie Pie. "Hey, I don't mean to interrupt your conversation. But I have to go really quick. I promise I'll be back though! I'll meet you in the bedroom near the balcony." The Doctor said as he began leading Applejack the way back to the entrance.

The Doctor looked at her with much surprise. "What? No! Look it's a long story..." The Doctor whispered carefully to her.

 

 

 

"Anyways, don't know a drop of what a DARTUS or something like that is, but if it's faster than the train (highly improbable), I'll gladly take it,"

 

"Oh you'd be surprised."  Said the Doctor. He soon lead her out of the crystal empire, and introduced her to his blue compact TARDIS.

 

"Come on inside!" The Doctor urged as he ran into his TARDIS. "The inside is much bigger than what the outside suggests!"

Princess Cadence gave Pinkie Pie an understanding smile as she then gave her a gentle pat on the back. "Pinkie Pie, you weren't just guessing. You are in love! My magic can sense it. And to answer all your questions, yes! You already grown to understand it so well! Oh I am so proud of you!" The princess happily exclaimed as she gave her a hug. "Y-You have grown and matured so much since I last saw you!" 

 

"yeah... I have matured haven't I," Said Pinkie Pie as she fiddled with her Mustache

 

She secretly hoped the Princess wouldn't change her mind on that when she discovered the whoopee cushion she'd placed on her throne while she was busy chatting with Ricky and Ditzy. "Maybe i should sneak off and get it" she considered... "Nah! who can resist a prank like that?" she decided.

 

 

 

"Oh I wish I could tell you whether or not...your Doctor reciprocates your feelings! But for the first time, I find it impossible to read his emotions.." Cadence explained, finding difficulty in sensing the Doctor's feelings.   "It's like....there's so much baggage...complications with previous relationships....pain....loss....so much pain and loss." Cadence said sadly. She was now feeling a little guilty attempting to read his feelings in the first place.

 

"The Doctors in pain?"  Pinkie Pie said gawking at Princess Cadence. Forgetting all about the whoopee cushion Pinkie suddenly wanted to run to him and throw her hooves around him. She remained where she was.

The Doctor actually dropped his jaw upon her comment. "N-Nothing special!?" The Doctor managed to say, in utter disbelief. "This beauty that you are inside, is one of the most marvelous creations in all of the universe! How could you have seen better?"

 

The Doctor tried calming himself down a bit. Despite her already not-so-good impression, he still wanted to try and be nice to her since he was giving her a ride home.

 

 

"So, how does this thing work? Where do I sit?", said she while looking around. "Doesn't seem very pony-friendly, all this stuff,"

 

The Doctor was still quite perplexed by this pony's nonchalant behavior. She seem to act so natural in this thing...it made the Doctor wonder. He tried ignoring the confusion for now.

 

"It would take hours to explain how the TARDIS works. Basically, it can travel anywhere...any time! And If you want somewhere nice to rest, I can take you down to the bedroom." The Doctor explained, leading her the way to his main bedroom.

"The Doctors in pain?"  Pinkie Pie said gawking at Princess Cadence.

 

 

"Yeah. There's just so many different emotions going on inside of him that it's like reading a huge jumble of random words." The Princess explained. "And it seems he just went off to take Applejack home...so I've heard. I'm sure he'll back soon though."

Pinkie snapped her head around as the Doctor spoke. He'd been tied up in a conversation with Applejack but she'd been busy talking to Princess Candence... and planting whoopee cushions... so hadn't really caught the conversation.

 

"Ok" she said... a little taken off guard. She eyed the Doctor and AJ as they walked away towards the TARDIS.

 

"Was he looking at her... like THAT?" she wondered.  "Oh great" She thought. "Now he has a thing for one of my bestest friends... and doesn't even notice me! He probably wants to meet with me to tell me that he likes her and not just likes her... but LIKES her likes her. How did I get so unlucky in love!"  A little tear formed in her eye... but to cheer herself up... She did what she often does.

 

she broke into song.

"It is?" Pinkie asked in awe. "Really? You mean you find your special somepony and your whole world changes?... is it like... discovering some part of yourself that you never knew you'd lost... and when you look at him" She said, glancing over her shoulder at the John Smith Doctor, all sparkling and crystaline,  "Is it like... losing yourself and finding yourself at the same time? and when you catch the sparkle in his eyes... is it like you've just found starlight more precious than a thousand diamonds! ....and do you find yourself lost in some time vortex where the rest of equestria just fades from view, and all that is left is... just you...and him.... bound together by ethereal cords that can never be broken...." Pinkie then snapped back to her present moment. "Of course I'm just guessing" She said nervously, fiddling with her hooves. 

 

 

 

 

Derpy slid to a stop in front of Dissy and watched as the other Doctor trotted away.

 

@ Dissy "I hope I'm not interrupting anything important here Doctor... but I'm soooooooooooooooo nervous around the Princess... I'm scared I'm going to do something clumsy and stupid!" she decided to hide behind him.

Dissy looked at Ditzy and said

"Dont worry,i trust you.I know you wont do something clumsy and stupid,and im here no matter what.You know that"

Dissy then smiled,put his wing around Ditzy and kissed her,before turning back to the others.He then hears about their mention of "Bed" and says

"Oh good,i kinda need the sleep.Thanks princess"before thinking

Ok,i hope me going to bed and announcing it in front of Ditzy doesnt go anywhere...... and he sub-conciously blushed.

"I'm tired too." She admits. "It's been such a long ordeal. Where are the mares rooms?" she says looking at Princess Cadence nervously.  she wondered if she would get to share a room with Pinkie Pie. She hoped so as she enjoyed the laughter of the pink mare.

Cadence was beginning to feel very sad for Pinkie Pie, especially since she couldn't even correct her assumptions for it was impossible to fluently read the Doctor's endless emotions.

 

I've always been great at reading anypony's emotions. How come I can't read his? It's like he's had....a lifetime to carry all these countless feelings of his.

 

The Princess did her best to try and cheer her up. "Oh Pinkie Pie, you seem to worry too much. Try not to assume things so quickly, just talk to him when he get's back. Who knows, you may be surprised." Cadence patted her on the back again, giving a reassuring smile.

 

Where are the mares rooms?"

 

The Princess turned her attention back to Ditzy. The currently present group had finally arrived on the 3rd story of the Crystal Empire, which was a hall of numerous bedrooms, each room having their own design and characteristics.

 

"None of these bedrooms are gender specific, but if it is that much of a concern to you, then I could easily lock whatever room you want to sleep in for the night." Cadence generously offered.

 

"Just tell me which room you want, and I'll be happy to escort you there."

I did", said Applejack, bragging about her first Discord encounter. "Besides, this thing is not very well designed. Like, the size of the steps is almost too big for a simple pony to clear. This center main thingy is too tall for most ponies, and these guard rails don't actually do anything, since we can easily go right under them," she said, moving around the TARDIS.

"Besides, I'm very well rested, thank you very much. Anywhere any time? Ok. I would like to go to Sweet Apple Acres at about now!", she said, closing her eyes and leaning forward as she expected something to happen. A few seconds later she opened her eyes, looked around and said "Well, it didn't work at all. Are you sure you're right in the head, honey?"

The Doctor was getting a little bemused by this. He kind of expected her to have a personality...well, not like what she had shown. None the less he continued to try and win her appreciation. What really amazed him the most is how she seemed like the stereotypical cowgirl...yet none of the centuries advanced technology surrounding her at the moment seemed to amaze her as he hoped.

Clearly appearance says nothing about who the person really is....despite how much the appearance says otherwise. The Doctor thought as he gave a soft sigh. 
 

Ok. I would like to go to Sweet Apple Acres at about now!", she said, closing her eyes and leaning forward as she expected something to happen. A few seconds later she opened her eyes, looked around and said "Well, it didn't work at all. Are you sure you're right in the head, honey?"

 
"And are you sure you're right in the head?" The Doctor began to retort. "You don't just close your eyes and boom! You there! No, this is not like Wizard of Oz!" 
 
The Doctor cooled down for a bit. This pony was certainly not going to be easy to deal with but the Doctor hoped that he only had to deal with her for the duration of the ride. 
 
"I'll need to put in the coordinates for...um, Sweet Apple Acres? Can you be a bit more specific than that? I need latitude and longitude, elevation, province..."

The Doctor gave her a blank expression before replying. "A-Applejack....nevermind." The Doctor sighed, simply ignoring her weary concerns. He had to admit, she already seemed harder to get used to, than even Pinkie Pie when first meeting her. Except the difference was that at least Pinkie was always so energetic and interested in practically every detail.(No offense to AJ lol)

 

"You know how to back to Ponyville, right? If yes, that's perfect!", Applejack said. "If not, I'll gladly take the train."

 

"Oh Ponyville! That's a piece of cake!" The Doctor exclaimed, surprised how easy of a request she had. The Doctor immediately pulled a lever and dialed down the coordinates for Ponyville just as he remembered.

 

Within seconds the TARDIS arrived at the front of Ponyville. The Doctor then opened the doors and proceeded to lead Applejack out.

 

"Well here we are, Ponyville!" The Doctor happily exclaimed, somewhat relieved at the same time.

 Pinkie gave a nervous little laugh. "Sure.... .that would be fun." She said "I hope she doesn't break everything!" She thought. "It's probably a good thing we couldn't bring my party canon with us."

 

 

 

"Do you have a room with a sunset view?

 

 

"Oooh I've never seen a crystal empire sunset! does it sparkle?" Pinkie asked. "Hey this room looks nice... Come on Ditzy..." She trotted into a large room with two beds in it. Derpy followed flying not quite low enough and banging her head on the door.

 

"Ouch... miscalculated" she said with a sheepish little grin. "Should have just walked through..." 

 

  "This is going to be along night" thought Pinkie.

"If you want to see the Crystal Empire sunset, then I know two great bedrooms. These two rooms lead out to the main balcony of the entire Crystal Empire. There, you can see all the city glimmer under the sun's celestial glow!" Cadence happily answered and explained.

She lead the group to the two main bedrooms, opening in the door to first room as she escorted Pinkie Pie and Derpy inside.

 

"You like it?" The Princess asked, giving a wide grin. "The balcony just right outside has the most glorious view in the empire!" 

 

"Good night girls." She said, closing the door and letting them be.

She proceeded to escort the rest of the group to the bedroom in the next room over.

 

"Since you love my Crystal Palace so much Ricky. How would you like it if I reserved a bed for you, closest to the balcony? You'd get an amazing view!"

 

Now with great curiosity, the princess turned her attention towards Dissy.

 

"So are you the Doctor's twin brother? Sorry if I ask, it's just a little confusing for me."

The Doctor smiled and waved at her as she walked off. He saw how her blonde mane flowed through the wind, and was once again touched by the memories of his beloved, beautiful companion, now in another universe.

 

"Hope your having a great time...Rose. Because right now I ain't." The Doctor whispered to himself sadly. He walked back inside his TARDIS closing the doors behind him and slowly made his way to the console. He hung his head down. All the memories of his previous life, all the memories from the universe he was no longer in, was now started to flood his mind.

 

He struggled to pull down the lever and proceeded dialed the coordinates to returned to the Crystal Empire. Within seconds, he arrived. But he remained in the TARDIS. He was getting tired, his memories...seemed to be impossible to ignore at this point. He tried to brush it off, but it was now becoming too overwhelming for him. He collasped to the floor of the TARDIS, fighting off the tears as he tried his hardest to resist. He did not want to cry again..

 

No no no!! I can't keep thinking about my past! My past is past! It's gone Doctor! Get over it! N-No! Stop it! Shut up! I-I can't get over it! All these centuries, all these 900 years of running! Ignoring the pain, all the monsters I have created, all the disasters, regrets, and heartbreaks I've caused to the people around me and moving on as if nothing went wrong!!?!? I-I can't keep going on like this!! I'm so sorry ROSE!!

 

The Doctor's deepest thoughts of all his centuries of immense pain and loss were beginning to tear him apart emotionally. It soon became unbearable for his physical pony body and he eventually went unconscious for a few moments.

 

As he blacked out, memories of his life in his tenth regeneration began flowing vividly through his mind and single tear managed to seep out from his closed eyes.

"Finally! The same old farm!" thought Applejack as she approached the edge of her apple farm. "Now... where should I put it? Somewhere where everypony can see it, surely. Probably... on the edge of the road. There's no way you can come into the farm without passing through this spot," she figured.

 

Applejack started digging a hole in the ground. She then threw the muffin Discord conjured into the hole and covered it. "There. Hopefully this works. And now I finally can rest," said she as she walked towards her house.
