Justin ZW 396 July 2, 2013 Share July 2, 2013 For those unfamiliar with the mega-album series, there's currently about three or four super-albums which feature numerous brony artists collaborating. They are: Balloon Party: 100% No Feeble Cheering (Created with the concept of MLP music meeting Knife Party) Balloon Party: After Party (More music that didn't make it onto 100% NFC) Balloon Party: Apple 2012 (Actual mash-ups of songs from 100% NFC) Rainbow & Rooted: Four's Fall Down (An album themed around Rainbow Dash) So far, it's pretty tough to choose a favorite, but I would say that it's between 100% No Feeble Cheering and Four's Fall Down. Both of them are 3-4 hours long and feature amazing dubstep, metal, rock, and electro. If you've never heard them, I recommend checking them out. They are all free to download. http://balloonparty.bandcamp.com/ Apparently, bandcamp only gives a certain amount of free album credits or something, but they encourage you to seek out the torrents for any of the albums which no longer have free downloads. Alternatively, you can pay a minimum of $1 for a good 3-4 hours of awesome music. Oh, and ignore Silence Party. It's a joke album that has tracks which are literally just like 5 minutes of pure silence. Given all this, if you've heard these albums, which one was your favorite? Viscra Maelstrom 3,719 July 2, 2013 Share July 2, 2013 Pinkamena Party kicks Balloon Party in the ass about kicking ass. there's even a second album in the series now, which is surely to be better. at least, if you enjoy hardcore music (Balloon Party being hardcore MY ASS. it's just a giantfest of mainstream electro house and dubstep, with 2 actual hardcore tracks in it. oh, and some dnb and okay-sounding not-so moombathon tracks in it too). that's not to say i DISLIKE the Balloon Party albums, mind you. but it being "the most hardcore pony album" pffttt bwahahahahahahaha get out of here you bad joker. Justin ZW 396 July 2, 2013 Author Share July 2, 2013 (edited) Did I ever say it was ZOMG SUPER HARDCORE? No, I believe I said I enjoyed it. You're entitled to your opinion, but don't shit on mine, goddammit. Edited July 2, 2013 by Justin ZW A Whovian Administrator of Zelda Wiki who loves Rainbow Dash and all her antics. Freewave 1,145 July 2, 2013 Share July 2, 2013 (edited) Meh i guess 100% no Feeble but for the most part it seemed one-note. Very dubsteppy and about the drop (even Tarby had to have one). It also brought out a lot of the class warfare in the community (only about 15% of the tracks made it on to these comps), internal drama, and as Princess said above wasn't really that hard (and it was what they were claiming for months(how hard? this hard!). But it made money to get people to bronycon something rainbow & rooted sadly didn't achieve, ($3000 to spread out for the winners) and there are some good tracks on it. Sad thing is most of those albums are all about making glossy edm tracks and VERY LITTLE about making music about ponies. That's my biggest gripe. A community album should represent what we like making music about (ponies) PS I'm giving my opinion here. i really hope that being not happy with these projects isn't seen as "shitting" on anyone's opinion. I'm not doing that at all, just stating how it went down in my eyes. Edited July 2, 2013 by Freewave I have made brony music since 2011. I like all kinds of music and genres. I'm sure you'll like some of it.. Here's My YouTube..I have several albums on Bandcamp and Pony.FM. Check out the 20+ Musician project Maressey which I am running. Proctra Music 335 July 3, 2013 Share July 3, 2013 The songs from Fours fall down submissions were not legitimately chosen, most were established on the album through personal connections. My personal opinion was the 100% NFC was the greatest. It was made right at the pinnacle of brony music by the best artists around. Really good quality stuff. Where exactly did you get that information from? Because, as far as I know, there was a judges' panel that chose the songs for the album, as the case had been with NFC. And what exactly do you mean by "through personal connections?" Edited July 15, 2013 by mesogears

It's been a buzz around musicians such as YaC, Challa, Drummerbot. All of Circuit's choices reflected upon his own friendships, and those who are famous enough to bring light unto the album. If you were not predominately chosen then you were pretty much screwed if your song(s) weren't advertised enough.

I had never talked to Circuit before the album event started (all I've ever said to him consisted of questions regarding the album), and me and him don't know each other almost at all. I kind of see where you're coming from with the "not legitimately chosen" part, but I still would've enjoyed several of the tracks even if I didn't make it on. Well of course there are a few legitimately chosen. There wouldn't be enough substance of just circuit's friends to compile the whole album. In a whole the album was, as I said, not legitimate. FoxyCryptid 4,330 July 16, 2013 Share July 16, 2013 Meh, I listened to one song from the first one and really wasn't my thing. I'm not into really hard edged stuff much(with the example of some Demon Hunter stuff) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoxnhwH7Q_4 "You know, I don't know who or what you are Methos, and I know you don't want to hear this, but you did teach me something. You taught me that Life's about change, about learning to accept who you are, good or bad. And I thank you for that." -Duncan McLeod.
