EP1C N3RD 45 July 8, 2013 Share July 8, 2013 I uploaded a story on fanfiction.net a week ago and it hasn't got any reviews yet and just barely any views. I don't know what I'm doing wrong If it had any spelling errors or grammar errors people would've of flamed my ass by then. Anyway I sought some advice and it told me to change the rating from M to T which I did, also it told me to not say it was my first fanfiction and I changed that. If you want to read the story yourself It's called Eternal Insomnia in fanfiction.net and it's about Rainbow Dash suffering from a life threatning illness in which she can no longer sleep and she goes months without any ( It has a happy ending though). I thought people liked those kind of stories oh well then. If you guys could give this sorry lad some advice that would be greatly appreciated. Ampharos 1,009 July 8, 2013 Share July 8, 2013 That actually sounds pretty interesting. In all honesty the reason you don't have a lot of views is because it's your first fan fiction and so you aren't well known. If you haven't already, make a thread on this site advertising the story. Just be like "Hey I made this story! Go check it out and stuff blah blah blah." I dont really have any other tips cuz I've never made a fan fic so I've never been in this situation. Hoped that at least helped a little RWBY DISCUSSION THREAD
Zygen 6,066 July 8, 2013 Share July 8, 2013 Its probably because you've not made any, so your not well known, maybe after making a couple you'll be a bit more well known and thus get more views. I'd also post it here and to Fimfiction as well, another fanfic site for MLP fanfics. Other then that sometimes it just takes time i guess, good luck! Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! Blique 211 July 8, 2013 Share July 8, 2013 I agree with the others - it's mostly about publicity. You could have a Shakespearean masterpiece written, but if no one knows about it, there's no one to see how good it is. Market yourself, advertise everywhere. I often get good results when I advertise things in my signature. The important part is getting people to know it exists - after that, whether or not it takes off depends on your skill. I make digital art, traditional art, scarves, and crafts. http://mlpforums.com/topic/65309-bliques-ponies/
