blackwolverine2 3 July 9, 2013 Share July 9, 2013 What if one of the Wonderbolts permanently lost his/her wings and had to learn to live as an earth pony. This pony would also have to deal with the depression of never being able to fly again. What does everypony think of it? Has it been done before?
Proton 565 July 9, 2013 Share July 9, 2013 I don't think something like that has ever been done. Originality FTW. However, how can a WonderBolt lose his/her wings? This fact is what matters the most. You can't just say "Spitfire woke up without wings oh my" or something like that. "Walk always in shadows, so that you will see your foes before they see you." Moniker 93 July 9, 2013 Share July 9, 2013 That doesn't sound right, let me check *searching database, ding* no there is no record of that type of stories, and besides if your OC is truly original then there is no need to worry.

This fact is what matters the most. You can't just say "Spitfire woke up without wings oh my" or something like that. I was thinking he/she could be in an accident and injure his/her wings to the point of needing amputation. There are probably some ponies in Equestria that are missing limbs from accidents, why not wings?
--Thunder Bolt-- 534 July 9, 2013 Share July 9, 2013 I like this idea! I even had an idea for the beginning hit me: Rainbow Dash gets a letter from the Wonderbolts Academy. She is, to use Pinkie Pie's neologism, very "nervouscited." She angsts awhile over it: what if it says she gets to be a Wonderbolt? What if it says she's out of the Academy for good? With the encouragement of her friends, she finally opens it. There's an opening! A slot--in the Wonderbolts--for HER! She's holding in her hooves everything she'd ever wanted for as long as she can remember. Then it hits her--what if it means she won't get to see her friends anymore? Should she tell the Wonderbolts 'no?' Her encounter with the "Shadowbolts" comes to mind. But then her friends remind her one by one that having friends doesn't mean you have to abandon your dreams. Supporting you in reaching for your dreams is one of the main things friends do. Twilight reminds her that if she's fast enough to be a Wonderbolt, she's obviously fast enough to come visit on her off-time, and that they can all go visit her too. Pinkie Pie wants to hold a party, etc.. Cut to: Wonderbolts Academy. Rainbow's friends are all walking toward the barracks to see her off, while she's zipping to and fro and round and round, tying rainbow-streak knots in the air, etc., saying over and over again, "IgettobeaWonderbolt!IgettobeaWonderbolt!IgettobeaWonderbolt!" and so forth. Then she spots one of them, walking forlornly away. She recognizes him/her immediately and zooms down to meet him/her. "[pony name]! I'm Rainbow Dash! I've just been invited to join you guys!" she says, proudly holding her invitation in front of [pony's] face. She shakes [pony's] hoof with wild enthusiasm. "This is The! Most! Awesome! Day! EVERRRRRR!" *zoom!* *zip!* "I can't WAIT to fly with you, man!" The others are all watching happily when there's a sudden *doink?* moment, and all their eyes go wide. But Rainbow doesn't notice. She's too ecstatic, flying rainbow-colored circles around [pony] "IgettobeaWonderbolt!Igettobea--" Suddenly, it's as if she hits an invisible wall. Her eyes are wide and iris-filled, her jaw dropped. Now she notices that [pony] is miserable, and she's looking right at the reason: the bandaged nub where [pony's] right wing used to be. Then, switch to [pony's] P.O.V. Surprise, readers! This isn't a story about Rainbow Dash becoming a Wonderbolt. Clarity: I'm not gonna write this fanfic. It's all yours. I hope you like the idea.
Sky Warden 2,243 July 9, 2013 Share July 9, 2013 Write it. That sounds like a pretty interesting idea. Don't forget that you can get help easily in this place.
