i walk for an empty table, when i see a dark haired mare sitting alone reading. * guess i could sit by her, might as well make at least one new friend* i walk towards her table "May i sit here?" i politely ask in a deep, but almost grim sounding voice. *Pelates voice is like that naturally* I place my food near but not too close to the mare.

 

Elipsis:

Elipsis was too cowardly to sit next to somepony, she sat in an empty table in the back of the food court, and looked around at the other ponies with their friends. *i wish Soapy (OOC soapy is another one of my OC's) was here, but shes in Fillydelphia* Elipsis always hated going to new schools, mainly because she never knew anypony who went there which made today even harder for her. Elipsis finishes her small portion of food and sits there with a frown.

((OOC: Thats what I get for not getting online for most of the day. Just a note: I don't actually know how to read Tarot cards. As such I'm not using the standard Tarot deck. As well, they don't have aces, numbers, or the standard face cards depicted.))

After the cards had been selected, the remaining one hundred sixty two quietly settled back into a stack. The cards chosen were: A softly grinning mare, two interlocked claws, the sun breaking over the horion, a deflated foal's ball, rain clouds, the autumn leaves, and something that looked like a burning castle. After a moment studying the cards, Steeleye looked up at Whirl Wake. "Funny thing, fortune telling that is. I learned it from a zebra when I was deployed in the Changeling Deserts. So many different ways to interpret a single card. Your selection is mercifully straight forward, thank Celestia."

 

"Your fate is: while at the University you will face issues of love and the heart. Whether those will be easy or difficult is a bit ambigous, though my reading suggests that it will be a bit challenging. The cards representing weather are all bundled together. You will have success in your Meteorology class and discover that you are able to exceed previous expectations when it counts most. The claws, ball, and castle are a bit more ominous. You will have to face two of your enemies who have become allies, or you will have to become the ally of one you hate. Your time of abundant fun and free time is coming to an end. You had best take advantage of it while you can. The castle is... difficult to explain. It doesn't get drawn terribly often. It signifies great upheval of some kind, though what will be changing is hardly ever made clear."

"Hm..." Light was thinking about the interpretation an all possible meanings. "Seems somewhat vague, to be sure... but seems like a harmless enough venture." She reached into her purse and grabbed a few bits and threw them up on the table. "Me next. I need to see this all first hand."

As Steeleye finished his fortune, Aroma Remedy walked into the food court. She had been late but was now all sorted out. Her roommate hadnt been in the dorm, but that made sense. She had a certain... aroma around her that smelled like pine. It was very soothing. She saw the fortune teller and walked over excited. The beautiful mare saw that a group was there, and thought it would be a perfect opportunity. The closest pony to her was Whirl Wake and she decided to introduce herself.

"Hi there! My name's Aroma Remedy but you can just call me Remmy! Or Aroma. Ooooh did you just get your fortune told to you? That's so cool!" she blurted out. It had come out in a rush that sounded like one sentence, but she didn't seem to notice.

 

 

Inks' jaw almost dropped. The mysterious unicorn had just predicted that Whirl Wake would have his heart strings pulled, and here was this admittedly pretty mare. Inks didn't say anything about it though, but most likely because he was too shy to.

She watched as the pony sat down next to her but not too close, it was a nice to do for somepony you had just met. Starry set her book away and turn to the pony.

 

"I'm Starry Night, you can just call me Starry, or Night, or Star. I don't really care."

 

Starry smiled. This one seemed nice.

 

"What's your name?"

I make a small smile "I think I like Star" then i respond to the question "the names Pelate Overcast, which is strange because I don't like cloudy days heh" I adjust my wing "pardon me..."

(If you don't know yet his wing is crippled so he has to adjust it so it doesn't dislocate itself) I look at her book "what're you reading?" I ask hoping to start a conversation.

Noticing that the stallion didn't answer her, Aroma quickly lost interest in what was going on. Seeing Pelate and Star, she quickly trotted over and sat down

But Pelate. He looked quite fetching. Then again so did the stallion that had gotten his fortune told to him.

"Should probably go ta the food court right? Ahm starving!" After all these years, it was easy to mask how he felt on the rare occasions that he thought about Chisel

Apple Stem nodded. Apple Stem set down his notebook. He quickly grabbed it. He placed it in the saddlebag. "So you grew up in Ponyville?" Apple Stem wanted to clarify. "Have you ever bought apples from the market?" Apple Stem wasn't quite the talker normally but he felt more comfortable around Diamond Dust. Apple Stem stopped in his tracks before heading out the door. "Wait, I...I don't even know where the food court is, well, I'm sure you know, I'll follow you," Apple Stem said.

He asked what she was reading, nopony had ever asked stuff like that before!

Starry didn't mind his messed up wing, she actually thought it kinda cute... Another mare sat next to them.

 

"Oh, I don't mind! I like Remmy, that's a cute name."

 

She readjusted her glasses that almost fell off when Remmy came over.

Remmy frowned at the sound of Pelate's voice. "Nice to meet ya Pelate. You sound a little down. Are you sad about something? I don't really like when people are sad." She trailed off. She wanted to give him chance to answer. She knew she rambled sometimes, but she never acted upon it.

(OCC this is before Remmy came)lick my lips "is that the book with the thi-..." THen I see a mare come toward the table *oh thank celestia almost made myself look stupid* (OOC now back to the present hope I didn't confuse you)

 

I cock an eyebrow "no, I'm not sad, it's just my voice, it sounds like that. I am a little serious sometimes and it sounds even worse." I quietly laugh at myself I hear her trailing off, but I didn't want to ask. I finish my food and I speak up "I'm going to throw away my garbage, I'll be right back." I stand up and start for the trash can.

"OK." As Pelate stood up, Remmy noticed that Pelate's wing looked weird. "Hey is your wing okay? It looks damaged..." in Remmy's mindset, she didn't even think that Pelate might not like to talk about. But Remmy didn't gave much of a filter either, and it all came out fairly quickly.

Starry didn't really have any food but decided to go with them, she didn't realize that Remmy asked what her name was.

 

"Oh, my is Starry Night but you can call me Starry, Night, Star, or really whatever."

 

Starry smiled, her smiles were pretty. She was happy that she had made some new friends! Starry a tiny kinda sort of a crush on Pel. Funny right? She had just met him and didn't even know what he was like! Starry could tell that he was kind though.

Whirl Wake turned to see a beautiful mare hastily introducing herself to him. "Oh, uhh... Hi?" He had never seen the pony before, or at least he thought he hadn't. "My name's Whirl Wake, nice to meet you." He shook her hoof, turning back to see Light Eye getting her hoof read. "Yeah, I did. But I don't really believe in that stuff." He shifted his gaze back to... 'Remmy? Or was it Aroma... I could barely tell...' He shook it off. "Are you new here as well? I just moved in this morning." He found himself to be looking all around her body, finding each little detail of hers to be, well, beautiful.

Psych Ward watched the card readings.  She sighed, quietly getting her book out.  She read at the table silently, not taking any notice of anything else that was going on in the lunch room.

Steeleye shuffled the cards back into the deck, raising an eyebrow as his prediction was rather uncerimoniously ignored. He briefly considered telling the young stallion off, but he reconsidered. He wanted to have a decent time while he was here and making bad impressions couldn't possibly make things better. As the bits landed on his table, he looked to the mare who had put them down. Smiling softly, he slid them back across the table before gesturing at the sign with his hoof. "I appreciate the offer, but I don't take payment for predictions. I also don't accept any blame for the consequences my predictions might have in turn. Its mostly just for show, but I work that way on the off chance that something bad I predict comes true and people come looking for revenge." The cards whirled through the air again, forming a five pointed star, an octagon, and a square before being brought before her. "Unlike the lovestruck young stallion over here, only choose four cards. I'll explain it once you've chosen." He also saw a mare sitting alone reading a book out of the corner of one eye. A card flew out of the selection and settled on her book where a bookmark would be held. It depicted a yin-yang symbol with the day and night. "Please, come over," he called to her. "Even if you don't want a reading, I'd still like to get to know the students I'm going to be with for the next year or so."

Remmy turned to see the pony she had seen earlier talk to her. "Hmm? Oh hello Whirl Wake! Yea I'm new here but I might have been a little late. Hehe woops! Anyways that's pretty cool! What room are you in? Maybe we're in the same building!" Remmy was so excited to be making so many acquaintences in the first few minutes she had seen anypony!

 

 

Inks eyed the cards carefully. He didn't understand how the system worked. It seemed pretty random to him. He shrugged. What would he know? He looked over to see Whirl Wake chatting with the mare he had seen earlier. And Light was getting the card thing. So the only one left was Psych Ward.

@@Psych Ward,

"Um, hey! This stuff is pretty weird right? It seems so random... But then again I don't know much about this stuff. Uh, Psych Ward, right?"

"No mah sisters did most o' the shoppin stuff. But yea ah grew up in Ponyville. I dunno where the food court is either. Ahm sure we'll find it." He walked past Apple Stem and continued down the hallway, expecting the shy stallion to follow him. There must be some typ of sign somewhere that would direct him towards the... He looked up and saw a sign that showed the direction of the food court. He turned around so his roommate could catch up with him. "Hey bud it's this way."

Psych Ward looked up from her book, curiously.  "It really depends on the pony," she said.  "I've seen some pretty authentic card readers and I've seen one that just have too much time on their hands."  She nodded.  "Yep," she said.  "I tend to go by Psych as well.  What was your name again?  I'm not too good at remembering those."

Inks was relieved that this pony seemed to be nice. "I guess so. I'm Inks. It's nice to meet you Psych... again." He grinned. He was feeling a little more open now. Not as... anti-social. He still wasn't too comfortable around them, but it was a slight improvement. He took off his hat and sat next to her. "So do you know who your roommate is? I guess some ponies don't meet their roommates right away..."

Whirl Wake chuckled at the excited mare. "I'm in dorm 7, actually." He glanced back at the fortune teller, thinking for a second about what he said. 'Nope. No.' He kicked the feeling away, convincing himself that it wasn't real. Turning back to Remmy, he spoke. "How about you? What dorm are you living in?"

I clench my teeth, and look back "I will try to explain, I guess" my tone was almost depressing myself, other than the thought of explaining my wing. After tossing my trash I sit and let out a long *siiiighhh* "well, my wing isn't damaged, it's crippled. (oh boy a flashback!!!) I was born in downtown cloudsdale. But there was a problem, I was birthed legs first...and...I don't even want to think of what happened. To say the least, my wing got caught..." I stop and bite my lip "I think actually more disgusted than sad about it sometimes" I sit there silent with depressing looking eyes.

*trust me guys, I hate typing Pelates backstory, it's pretty gruesome*

I shrug, "ok ill put on a fake smile" I joke around. I let Remmy meet her friend while I wait resting my head on a hoof, lost in thought. I never explained this to anypony, because no pony asked...

(OOC Wow I am the first one with a love interest *Starry Night* I am doing much better role playing in this one than the old one)
