I have made several changes to the OP, and would like you all to take a revisit to the spoiler sections. I am afraid, that due to my inexperience with creating and using stats effectively, you may have to revisit your own statistics and check they still add up. 

Sneaking has been implemented properly as well as - finally - weapons! 

We have a pretty solid system in place as far as i'm concerned, I just hope my brain doesn't die trying to sort all of this out, and the RP doesn't die in the first 5 minutes after the work i've put into this :3

First of all, I disagree with the species benefits for Diamond Dog. They're basically built like gorillas with canine features, so strength and/or dexterity would be far more appropriate than toughness. However, I've already adjusted my stats accordingly. I would prefer them as they were before, but I don't want to bother you with it. So this whole paragraph is kind of pointless, I guess.

 

Anyway, the main reason I'm posting this is because if I'm not mistaken, I would be far better off using my fists than any starting weapon. Their base power is 1, which is of course far less than my strength, so unless I read it incorrectly, they would only serve to reduce the damage I can deal.

 

Oh, and I won't be awake at 15:00 UK time, so don't expect me to post for a few hours.

Sorry, I get confused looking back through all the damn text, especially when i'm tired like now  -_-

Combat is worked out the same, weapons are a modifier, so strength + weapon + dice roll = damage. (It's basically extra strength) 

Also, i'll go back and change the cap - small weapons should be 2, fists capped at 1. 

 

As for posting at 15:00, there's a good chance i'll not start it then either It's most likely going to be about 18:00 or something. 

OH! And the reason Diamond Dogs have toughness, is because in my mind I am thinking toughness is physical resilience. The way I see it, Diamond Dogs are digging around underground a lot, they're going to get hit by the occasional rock or two, and constantly rubbing against the walls of caves and such would develop a resistance in physique eventually.

That reminds me, if I'm not mistaken, the sizes of the weapons aren't listed. I'm an idiot, ignore that.

Honestly I was undecided on what to give, strength or toughness, and I decided on toughness because of the physical resilience that would be needed and developed more than the strength, I could imagine the natural toughness of their species to be passed down in genetics, whereas the strength would be developed and improved by their own actions. 

That's why I gave the free stat, because I couldn't decide and I didn't want to give them the same stats as Earth ponies. If you want me to change the stats to give them strength + any, I will happily do that

 

Now, i'm going to quickly throw my character up there, i'll be using Frostbite because she's the only OC I have free at the minute, and then i'll get to creating the first post of the RP, and hopefully we can have some fun

 

As i've said, I would prefer this RP to be an immersive one, more than a story driven one. It's pretty free, and there'll be an underlying story in there, vaguely. I can see this being a RP that will die off rather than come to a definite ending, but if it gets enough attention - ie, if we manage to get some good plot development from our own ideals, i'll drum a solid story while we move along. 

 

Edit: It's clear to me now just how much this RP's character creation system sucks. I even forgot to include magic. Guess that's what you get when you change ideas so much. Hopefully the next RP I attempt will start off better than this one. Sorry about this rabble guys. I'd be happy burning this RP and starting over I'll just take this as a learning curve I guess. So, enjoy it for what it guys, and thanks for sticking around through my stupidness

Alright guys, so the RP is live, eventually. 

I'm sorry this took so long and I still don't have a decent system in place, but i'm just going to leave it how it is now, i've messed around with it enough.

I'm probably going to keep his backstory as a veteran, but it won't add to his bonuses, just his personality.

 

EDIT: I did completely over look weapons however.

 

You can outfit him with a pistol,

And probably a workman's hammer.

It's okay, we've only just gotten into it, really. Barely scratched the surface of the RP. 

 

Also, i'll have to look over everyone's stats again and make sure i've compiled them all correctly in the first post, lest we have a mess up. I would do it now, but as i'm typing this my brain is shutting down more and more
