New Avatar Painting/Drawing

So, after a long overdo redesign, I've finally gone and redone my Avatar and OC, BassClef.

 

I decided that I didn't like his color scheme - that it was too intense (and quite frankly pretty bad if you looked at it for a while), so I recolored him, and simplified his design. It's more Generic, I suppose, but it suits me better now anyway.

I plan to do a full picture soon, but that will wait. Any comments on the new design of the character, or just the picture in general?

I love the detail on the mane; the way that it looks like every single strand is there is really impressive. Also the shading is incredible, especially with the reflections in the eyes. ^3^

 

If I would point out anything, it's that the horn outline is a bit shaky. :\

 

Still, I really love this as a whole. As a character, the fire/determination in his expression definitely makes up for any kind of "generic" color scheme. Great job! /)

Thank you so much! I've been working really hard on improving for a while now! ^.^

 

And, in my own opinion, a lot of the lines are shaky... at least for my standards, but photoshop doesn't have a smoothing tool or line guide thing or whatever it's called, like SAI does, and I'm used to using that, but thanks for the feedback on that!

I think hes got a pretty nice color scheme overall, and the picture looks pretty detailed particularly on the texture in the mane.

 

So i'd say it looks pretty sweet .

If I may say, I prefer the first picture but that is mostly because I like the color scheme. Overall, both are very well done. Needs a bit of sharpening of the detail but overall...

Thank you! Once again, the color scheme of my previous design (Still don't know what I was thinking x], haha) was too intense for my tastes, and I don't think it worked overall. This new scheme is more... me, I suppose. x3
