Our story starts as any story would. With deception.. This is the remains of Ponyville. It's a fort that has not fallen. it was built after the incineration of Equestria. The Forts name is Bavik. It was built on the grounds that used to be covered with flames and ash. But now resides as a living district for the living and the non-muted ponies that have survived. The fort is as big as town square used to be. There is 15 buildings that reside withing the Fort. Most of which have not been occupied. And now Pheonix Lark, Government Ambassador of Bavik. Is going onto the stage.
Pheonix Lark stands up onto the podium, and he stares at the audience that lies in front of him.
"Change......" Pheonix Lark says with a low voice that has cracks in the tone.
"That's what you were promised today." Saying with it eye half opened.
"We will show the shadows.." Saying with one eye open and an eye brow raised.
"That our Government is still strong!" Pheonix says.
"And the Storm that is coming will know, that we DO NOT FEAR IT!" Pheonix shouts.
"Now go and do what you think needs to be done. To help us prepare for the STORM!" Pheonix states.

Pheonix stands down as the crowd starts to cheer. Pheonix starts to walk off the stage.

"Sir, there's something we have to tell you." The Captain of the guard says.
"I'm listening..." Pheonix replies.
"Sir...uh...They know." The Captain says.
"We'll that isn't going to work, now is it?" Pheonix replies.
"N...n-no sir." The Captain replies.
"Captain, do not let this get known any further then it already is." Pheonix Snaps.
"Y-y-yes sir!" The Captain reply's.

The Captain pulls his cloak over his head and starts to run towards the Northern Gate. The guards open the gate as the Captain disappears in the mist.

HeartSong stands in the crowd admiring Pheonix's bravery...and good looks...

"I wonder if he would allow me to help with the rescue efforts?" She thought to herself as she walked back towards where she was staying, "it would be great to help out" after that thought she headed off to help out at the camp orphanage

One of the young fillys runs up to her, "Heartswong!" She yells as she runs up, "flower got sick today and HD to leave so.I don't have anyone to play with,will you play with me?"<br />"Of course I will!" HeartSong exclaims while.thinking, "oh no, we lost another one, man the sickness is getting worse, I need to talk to one of the soldiers about getting some coltsfoot root for the kids" nd with that thought she followed the filly into the orphanage

Pheonix starts to walk towards the Fort Stronghold.

 

Pheonix looks around while he walks.

This place will grow. We will not fall. My plan will work.

 

Pheonix finally arrived at the stronghold.

As he walks in he glanced back at the town.

We are still strong he thought.

HeartSong spent the rest of the day with the filly and noticed shes starting to get the cough, the start of the sickness, "that's it, I'm going to find Pheonix and make him take me to find something to help these kids" she thinks and heads off to find him, or at least someone who can take her to him

Pheonix starts to walk up the stairs to the second floor to access the walls. He finds a door that's made out of mahogany wood. He opens the door and walks out. To his left was 10 feet from him and the ground and out was the mists. Pheonix knew what was out there but only could think too himself what difference it would make to explore it.

HeartSong galloped off in the direction the guard told her she could find him, "too bad I had to threaten him..."she thought just as she plowed smack into another horse, "hey watch it!" She yelled just before she realized who it was, "oh...sorry Pheonix...my bad...I'm such a clutz..."she said as she stared at the ground...

Pheonix looked at the mare starring at the ground.

"Is there something you need?" Pheonix said while raising an eyebrow.

"I'll escort you into the mists. But we can't be out there when the storm arrives." Pheonix said.

 

Pheonix told a passing patrolling guard to get the Squire. The guard went into the stronghold.

 

There was a huge slam on the door then it opened and the Squire came out.

 

"Yes sir!" The Squire said.

"I need you to watch the keep. I'm escorting this mare to get medicine for the fillies." Pheonix said.

"Oh and sir." The Squire said.

"Yes?" Replied Pheonix.

 

The Squire gave him a letter and whispered into his ear.

 

"I see, anything else?" Asked Pheonix.

"No." Said the Squire. Then the Squire ran into the door, opened it then ran into the Keep.

 

Pheonix turned his attention to the mare.

"Lead the way." Pheonix said.

"What's your name anyway?" Asked Pheonix.

Pheonix sighed.

"There is nothing emotionally left within my soul. If I do not use my abilities as a politician you would most likely consider your-self and everyone else dead." Pheonix said.

 

As they walked down the stairs he continued.

 

"We must remain strong or nothing will end up in our benefit. The princesses are gone. They're extinct. So all my guards will do there best to their ability's. they will stand by me." Pheonix said.

 

"That's all there is to tell." Pheonix said.

 

Pheonix walked over to a guard.

 

"I need two daggers." Pheonix stated.

"Yes sir!" Replied the guard.

 

The guard reached into his satchel. and found to the two daggers. And gave them over to Pheonix.

 

Pheonix gave HeartSong a dagger and said.

"You might NEED it." Pheonix said.

Pheonix stopped for a second. Then continued walking. And helped her up.

 

"Can I trust that you won't end up hurting yourself?" Pheonix said. With a faint smile barly noticeable.

 

Pheonix glanced at her eyes for a second.

"I don't believe that you're a clutz. You just need more vigilance." Pheonix said.

 

As they were coming up to the Northern Gate.

Grand finale stood in the town square and doing her act. She made her living as a street performer. These poor ponies could use any amount of happiness they could. She would always send out an aura of happiness whenever she had enough energy to do so. Little fillies watched her juggle with awe. She only wished these ponies could be happy all the time

She couldn't believe she was doing this, "and promise that as we walk you will loosen up and talk normally, it's okay, you don't have to be the leader around me, I can see through the macho persona, you actually are just pass scared as the rest of us, its okay"

As they continued to walk down the barly shown path. Pheonix looked at HeartSong and nudged her with his noise. "Do you know what we are looking for?" Pheonix said quietly.

 

Pheonix looked up at the path ahead. Not much to see

 

"We must not travel to far from the road, if we do we must use rope to know how to get back to the road." Pheonix stated.

Grand FInale finished up for the day, taking her small earnings to her small home and stuffed them into her very much empty savings jar. what was she saving for? she didn't know yet. but when the time came she would have it. a young filly came up from the covers of the worn out mattress and smiled at Grand " Hi sis! did you buy any food? we are all out... again" the little filly huffed sadly. Grand dropped a loaf of stale bread on the mattress. "Here Caramel Corn, this was all I could afford before work today, after you eat its time for bed" she said motherly. after she put her sister to bed, Grand decided to take a walk around town

There was a loud scream from the north and the wind started to pick up.

 

Then the Captain of the Guard started to walk up.

 

"Captain, what was that noise?" Pheonix said.

 

The Captain walked toward the two ponies.

"He knows!!" The Captain yells.

All sudden an arrow shoots into the back of his head. His body collapses onto the ground and blood floods the ground.

 

Pheonix looks at HeartSong.

"We gotta go! Now!" Pheonix said.

"Run!!" Pheonix yells.

"well I appreciate the favor, I wish I could give you something in return, but my trade isnt exactly something i can give away "she said with a little laugh. she often thought that street performances didnt contribute to the barely running fort, but seeing the smiles on ponies faces make it all worthwhile

HeartSong takes off running and follows Phoenix.<br /><br />She uses her<br /><br />Unicorn magic and makes thick fog around them in an attempt to hide them but then she lost Pheonix and got real scared...where'd he go? She thought frantically oh no, I better find him, and with that thought she tried autostart tracking him but ended up getting lost
