Stephan nodded. "Sure, but make it quick. I'm on a tight agenda." He waited outside for Josh with the blade still unsheathe. He stared at the sword. Never in all of his years has he seen such masterful craftsmanship. Stephan regained his senses. "No. The thing is evil and it must be destroyed."

"I would like to agree with you, but Ive only met her recently. I dont know much about her, although she is quite a gracious host" she smiled. "She seems very hardworking, and a lovely pony" she answered. She took out the note that Stephan had left. "That idiot left to who knows where all by himself" she said to Zeta, hoping to blow off some steam. "That colt couldnt stay in one place if his life depended on it!"

"The host, huh.. Whatever you say I guess is true, since I haven't been around to see it all."

In just a bit, Zeta's interest took to the note that Grand had pulled out. It looked interesting but decided not to peer over and try to read it. "Grand if I may ask, who are you talking about that's related to the note?"

josh quickly emerged with a rucksack firmly strapped to him "important things in here that i cant lose" he walked beside stephen as they headed off "so everyone is alive an well. that is good that is very good. little starburst must be grown by now." he sighed thinking about all.his past friends

Stephan laughed a little. "Yeah. Ol' Starburst is now fifteen years old. Makes me proud. Fire Horn got reunited with his fiance, Missy. And, I..." He lowered his head as the two were walking. "I've been possessed by a piece of metal for eight years. I'm surprised the thing didn't make me wipe out the rest of the land."

Stephan saw the volcano at the distance. "There." Stephan pointed at the magma spewing mountain. "We need to climb to the top of this volcano. Once we do, we need to ca enst the sword into the fire. " Stephan then looked at the sword. "This thing has done enough damage. It must be destroyed completely."

Stephan put the sword on his back and walked to the side of Dragonshy. He jumped on the volcano's side and ran right up it's exterior. In a few seconds, he was on the top with Josh. The heat of Dragonshy was scorching. He felt like his mane was going to burn right off.

Grand looked up, still a bit flustered." Ghost ran off to throw a sword into a volcano like some sort of movie or something (reference alert) she said, calming herself down. "its nothing. He should be back soon enough. What have you found out Fire?" asked Grand as she turned to face the unicorn.

"lets hurry up and get this done the heat up here could.burn the skin from a trotter" josh flapped above the molten lava staring into it as if transfixed by the glow coming from it "aparently a dragon once slept in this mountain must have been interesting times"

"It really has to wait until everyone's here, you're my team, i need you guys on this quest." Fire Horn said, but decided to tall them.

"It's an expedition to Bruchellia, that could potentially save the entire pony race from the trotters. I need you guys with me."

Stephan looked at both the lava and the sword. The sword still appeared to have a mind of it's own.

"Stephan... you don't get it. I need you. I can't win without you..." The sword said in dying breath.

"Then you lose. You should've won before now. You had eight years to win." Stephan said. "Sayonara." Stephan the threw the sword into Dragonshy, causing it to melt before it even reaches the lava.

As the sword was destroyed by the melting depths of the volcano, it began to erupt, one last ditch attempt to kill Ghost.

"Bruchellia? where In equestria is that? ive never heard of it" she said, looking at him quizzically. "but if it involves stopping this madness, I'm in" she said firmly, looking at Zeta. "how do you feel about going on an adventure? Its too bad you wont get much time to relax but we could use your sharpshooting"

"and lets hope that thats the end of that"josh smiled widley "lets get you back to canterlot im sure they are worried about you" he grabbed stephen and flew to the far edge od the everfree forest "i just realised thay we almost got killes by an erupting volcano"

(I was actually thinking about doing that). 

Stephan let out a "Phew" and rubbed his head. He noticed that a third of his mane was burnt off, along with some of his tail fur. He also had a few burns on his sides. "Well, at least the lava didn't get all of me. Now the sword is gone for good."

josh walked with stephen for a while in what he guessed was tbe direction of canterlot "so what is your plan now head back to canterlot and enjoy the good life for a while?" he asked inquisitivley "i hear it is completly safe from any trotters and they have safe food and drinking water"

"I was going to, but then I remembered what life was like outside of Canterlot." Stephan stated. "The violence, the death, everything. It's just sad. Before I was possessed, I had a vision of an Equestria where everything was back to the way it used to be. Before I even think about relaxing again, I'm going to cure the outbreak."

josh sighed "ive been trying to for the past 8 years with the herbs from.all over equestria and i havnt found a full on cure. but i have found something close it is made of six common herbs. the way i have discovered the virus creating trotters works is that its recreates brain cells at a basic level with te remedy i made it can prevent the brain cells dying so as long as the heart it still beating after a person is bitten the virus cant take hold!" but if a person dies then they beceome one amd if the bite is near the heart or brain it alsp fails. unfotunantly it is the best i could come.up with

(is it okay i said that or should i edit away the remedy brain cell part? sorry)

Actually, that sounds like a good story element, fantastic.

 

"Bruchellia is the homeland of the zebras, it's where we're going, we need to wait for Ghost to return though." Starburst entered through the door.
"Are we going on an adventure, Dad?" Starburst asks.

"Yes, but you can't join us, it's too dangerous." Fire Horn replied.

Stephan smiled. "Amazing what you can do with 8 years, am I right?" Stephan chuckled. "If you could give me the formula, I could bring it back to the others. It'll make curing this thing a ton easier. Or, you could come with me back to Canterlot. I'm sure everyone would be happy to see you." Stephan said with enthusiasm.

josh hesitated but finally gave in "okay ill go on a condition. if i go i am not going anywhere except wherever the others are while i am there and if i start hiding dont point me out i have reasons to hide from some ponies in canterlot. i know it all sounds dumb but i have my reasons" josh saw equestria in sight and shivered a little at his thoughts of it

Stephan saw Josh shivering. He noticed that he was scared. "Josh... you don't have to go." Stephan said under his breath. "I understand that there are reasons that you shouldn't go into Canterlot. If those reasons make you shiver, who am I to force those reasons on you?"

Stephan and Josh arrived at Fire Horn's house.Stephan felt more tired than ever. He woke up at 5:30 AM, and it was now about 14 hours past. The burns and torn mane and tail didn't help. He couldn't wait to get back inside and shut his eyes for a bit. Stephan knocked on the door, hoping somepony would answer.
