"Or they knew their time was coming to an end and they hid themselves in this chamber in an attempt to protect others from the plague, but it seems it was for nothing." Missy looked into the middle of the table. "This place has been sealed off for centuries, millenniums at least, there's a magical enchantment around this room, designed to keep everything out and let nothing in." Missy observed the electronic equipment in this room, it was astounding, it all ran off of magic. "It seems the humans didn't channel magic directly, they built machines to do it for them, humans are just.... just.... fascinating."

 

A hologram appeared, though it was not pre-recorded.
"Hello...wait... my systems picked up human DNA from this room, but may i ask why you've brought primitives into this sacred place?"

"I know, right?" Stephan said in a snicker. "Humans are very technologically advanced, both here and on Earth. Everyday, scientists are making new discoveries in many different varieties." Stephan pointed out. "But technology like this didn't exist that long ago. The magic harnessed in these machines must've made it possible for these humans to be hundreds of years more advanced than the ones on Earth."

"Pyramids?" one particular word that was unknown to Ink Drop, "Interesting..." he said as he began to search the corpses for clues of any sort, and then he found one, an amulet or simply just a necklace with a name engraved on it, "Metal necklace with chains and..." he rubbed off the thick dust layer which probably have been piling up for centuries thus revealing the engraved writing, "G-g-George?" he said and continued rubbing off more and revealing more engraving across the small metal, "such a particular symbol..." without no knowledge of any sort related to the humans, Ink Drop turned to Stephan, "Do you know what this symbol is?"

Ink Drop heard what Missy just said and added it with his own statement, "Fascinating indeed... but why something so fascinating ended up to be so... dead? What happened here? Why did they choose this place? Why all this 'machines'?" he rained down every question that his mind could think of, "Information! What and why..." he may just got his answer after a hologram appeared.

 

"Hello... what do we have here?" walking up and stood closely as the hologram spoke, "Isomorphic data streams in the form of photonic particles focused directly to one spot and projected to the air... simply brilliant..."

 

((It's a dog tag, with a symbol similar to the USMC, like in the Aliens with the colonial marines and the scientists))

Stephan looked at the necklace "George... it say no last name! These six people here must be important, because they all have necklaces with their names engraved in them."

Stephan turned when he heard  a hologram. "Greetings, fellow human. I am Stephan, and these are two of my companions; Missy and Ink Drop. We've come to your lost island to search for the key to a nearly decade-long crisis."

"A human survived? It can't be, there was a 100% chance of total extinction. although, i will ask again, why have you brought primitives into this sacred place. You know that no pets are allowed in the meeting room." The hologram said. Missy was getting rather annoyed at this hologram.

 

-Meanwhile-

Fire Horn had found some metal scraps from the pieces of the wreckage that Missy had found, he began to melt the metal by charging his fire spell til it became hotter than magma. The metal melted together into a big ball.

"Excuse me, Grand." He observed her remaining hind leg and morphed the ball into that shape. It would just need to cool now. He buried it in the snow outside, hoepfully it wouldn't lose it's shape.

"Meeting room? Terribly sorry for intruding." Stephan apologized. "Me and my friends were just walking along this cave when we came across this room. We pulled the switch and a stone wall opened up." He explained. "These ponies aren't "Pets." They're my friends."

"Whatever you call them, they are still primitives and they cannot be in this room." The hologram said.

"Who are you calling a primitive you transparent jerk?" Missy yelled, to the hologram's surprise.
"When we ruled this land, you were nothing more than simple field animals, it appears you have evolved." The hologram responded. "I am Diane, i was put into service as an artificial intelligence... let's just say it was a long time ago."

"Miss Diane, they're not simple field animals. They're real beings that live lives like we do. Just across from this island, they set up a civilization called "Equestria." For the past decade, the land has been overrun with undead. Thousands of innocent lives have been lost." He explained. "We need to get to the shrine on the island to find the key. The key to stopping the outbreak and returning their land to normal."

"By what you mean a long time ago, it's actually six hundred and seventy eight years judging by the carbon dating in this bone from George right here..." said Ink Drop after he collected a bone shaving and put it on top of an unknown black plate, "that was just a guess actually, but complemented with a strong fact from this black plate thing that I've found in the chemical plant at Manehattan." He threw the black plate away causing in to emit a loud clanking sound.

"Now tell, me... six hundred years right here, you must be in hiding and no one hides that good. What were you doing here, actually, I know..." Ink Drop was ultimately trying to trick the AI programming on giving him answers, "microscope there, DNA monitor right there, and what's this?" he slid open a glass cap that turned out to be an empty petri dish. Doing some biology class are we?"

"I might be an equine, but I know awfully a lot about certain sciency... stuff."

"What was happening in this room is of no importance to you, only the Omega Foundation controls this project. I will not divulge important secrets to an un-advanced species such as yourself." Diane said.

"It's our business now, you would condemn a race to extinction because of your programming!" Missy yelled, met by a zap from a claw extending from the ceiling. "Ow!"

"Agressive animals will be put down." Diane said.
"Stephan, try and control this thing." Missy said.

Nearly got clawed by the claw that was extending from the ceiling, "Okay that was close. Right! Just tell me this then." certainly Ink Drop was on to something, "With no masters, no human, what are you now then? A free unchained AI programming, hmm? Possibly or perhaps one AI that doesn't have any command syntax to do, which leaves you nothing but a worthless sparkle of light." He just needed to bring up one flaw from the AI programming; an core function determination -- either it chose another master or just stay dormant, worthless for the rest of time -- "So... which one are you?"

 

((@,  you'll have to chose; if Diane chose another master -- she will uncover the secrets, that would lead them to the cure, if she chose to stay dormant or deactivates or self-destruct -- the gang will have to continue to the shrine hence the story is still versatile for anything and anyplace and anyplot. That's from my point of view of the story progression.))

"Hey! Not cool!" Stephan excalimed. "Your race was wiped out years ago. I'm the only human left on Equestria and this island. There's a whole other planet with humans like us. It's called "Earth." Stephan said, trying to convince her to calm down. "Release my friends, and I'll show you."

"Due to...unforeseen circumstances, the human race has been eliminated, and you are the only survivor, therefore, you are the sole controller of the interests of the human race. I await commands, sir." The hologram stated.

"What? How did you...do that, Stephan?" Missy asked.

Feeling the joy of success that he could manipulate the core programming of the AI just by speaking, "Everything has it's weakness and flaw." Ink Drop smiled. He turned towards Stephan, "I think that's your cue." he patted Stephan on his shoulder with his hoof.

After he reminded Stephan of who is now in charge, Ink Drop backed away and went to Missy's side and said, "Better stand back, and watch for that claw."

Grand smiled at firehorn. "Thank you for doing that" she said, tapping the soup pot. Where were the others? The soup was getting cold. "Do you think they've gone and gotten themselves lost?" She asked out loud. The blizzard outside seemed to be settling down. They would have to be on the move again soon

Stephan was surprised. He was now the leader. A wide smirk came upon his face. "I demand you to make these mechanical claws fall back. While you're at it, tell me what you know about the secrets of the shrine on this island." Stephan didn't want to abuse his new title. He just wanted to get answers from the AI, and fast.

The shrine was built to worship the god of life, her name is Faust, it is said that she breathed life into this land like a flick of a pen, it is also said that she created the mighty Celestia, she ruled this land along with her sister Luna, but to avoid the plague, they were sent to another world and stripped of thier magical powers. Some say that she became principle of a school, they would be right." Diane said.

 

-Meanwhile-

 

"They'll be back soon, can't imagine it would be very warm down there." Fire Horn responded and smiled.

Steel walked over to grand "its possible someone should go find them but it won't be me Missy doant want me to be near her" steel said as he ate his soup it was becaus it sat with him at the entrance to the cave he sat the cup down and went back to the entrance

Stephan thought about what Diane said. That's why Celestia and Luna couldn't just simply cure the plague. "Like I said before, we've come to this island to find the shrine and restore the land. However, the legend says that an alicorn with great power needs to give their life. Is there any alternative way?"

"I assume you are talking about Project: Genesis, the machine was designed to harness the magical powers of one who could control the very elements, but a being like that didn't exist, it certainly was not designed to take the life o f the one who might use it. Where was this information obtained from? If you don't mind me asking, sir." Diane asked

Grand watched quietly as the blizzard outside dulled to a soft snowfall. This would be the perfect time roving more plants. "I'll be back in a bit, I promise I won't go too far." She said, hobbling out of the cave. She began to dig through the thick snow to where the plants were. The snow would provide an obstacle for them surely

"Project Genesis, huh?" Stephan said. "I guess my friend, Fire Horn, read up on Project Genesis at the city of Canterlot before coming to this island. He said that the book read that the only way to activate it is to sacrifice a really powerful alicorn. But, we don't want to do that. We hope there's another way."

"I am unfamiliar with this term, "alicorn", but as i said, the machine created by Project Genesis wasn't designed with that purpose in mind, also, if the plague is affecting equine creatures instead of humans, we have a problem." Dianes said. "The machine is calibrated to cure humans, not equines, you would need to fix it. We created a device so that i could be transported remotely." A device appeared out of a slot. "Take this and insert it into the machine, i will reporgram it."

Stephan took the device. It looked very high-tech. Far more superior than the technology on Earth, but it looked simple enough. He place the device in his knapsack. "Thank you, Diane. You've been a big assistance."

(OOC: I'm pretty sure Diane is one of those holograms like Cortana from Halo. The holograms that come out of a projector a person could hold in their hand)

Hearth was beginning to feel a bit more energized. He was also making a realization. 'Ah'm thinkin' it's time ah move on.' he thought to himself. He silently got his things and scribbled out a note.

 

*Guys, I feel as though it was time I left. I'm beginning to feel as though we're actually friends. In the past, the ponies closest to me only were killed, as though the world were playing a cruel joke on me. Please forgive me. -Hearthsong

 

He left the note nearby and trudged off into the tundra, hoping to avoid running into Grand on the way.
