Missy turned and walked out of the room, using her horn to make a light, it was starting to get much colder and they had to get back to the camp to avoid freezing. "Come on guys, let's get back to camp."

Diane looked at Stephan: "The device will need a sample of equine DNA so it can recalibrate the machine. I hope you bring peace to the world, Stephan." Diane disappeared.

Grand had managed to grab a hoof full of ferns before she noticed hearth trudging away. "Hearth, where are you going? The rest of us will be leaving soon, your coming with us, right?" She said, making her way over to him. " you aren't going off alone are you?"

Hearth pretended to not hear and tried to keep walking. "In soul we stay. In body we must escape." he whispers to himself and continues to walk, not slowing down or speeding up, simply... moving on. He wished that he could stay, and wondered if anyone would be hurt at his leave.

Grand couldn't catch up to hearth so she kicked the snow in a frustrated manner. "Very we'll then, she said, huffing back to the cave. The others still hadn't returned. Grand picked up the note hearth had left. "How silly, leaving alone in a place like this" she grumbled, tossing the note to the floor

Stephan smiled and nodded. He exited the cave and went back to camp with Ink and Missy. Once they got back, he began to speak. "Everyone, there is another way to solve this!" Stephan took out the machine. "While me and the others were exploring, we found a hologramed human. She gave me this device and told me about something called "Project Genesis."

Hearth stood near the old mountain that he and Stephan had collapsed and chuckled lightly. He couldnt stop, for fear of going back again, he just walked. The snow began to dissapate, and the air got humid. "Ah think ah'm enterin' a rainforest." he said curiously as he walked.

Grand looked at him with a quizzical expression. "I don't understand a word of whst you just said. What in equestria is a hologram?" She said, very confused. "We'll, never mind right now, you three must be famished, have some soup" she said, pouring each if them a jar if soup. " another thing, hearth left"

"Project Genesis, human, hologram, what in the wide world of Equestria did you find down there?" Fire Horn asked.

"We found a solution, we know what we need to do now, no-one needs to die now." Missy explained. "The hologram thing was a bit of a bitch but other than that, everything went fine." Fire Horn remembered something.

"I have to get that thing, the snow thing." Fire Horn reached into the snow and got the metal leg, it had solidified into the intended shape. "Now, it may not be mechanical and there's a bit of work i need to do but this should serve that purpose." Fire Horn set to work on getting the leather from a few daggers and making into a mechanism to hold it onto Grand.

 

Missy levitated the soup and drank all of it. "It's been about 2 days, the last time I ate was before we left Canterlot."

"Thank you, Grand." He drank his soup. A warm feeling began coursing inside of him. "Well, it's much better than trail mix." He chuckled. "But, anyways, yes. We found a device that will make sure no one dies. Once we're at the shrine, we'll plug it into the machine there and the reprogram it. That should stop the outbreak." Stephan tried to explain as simple as he could. "However, in order for this to work successfully, I'm going to need a DNA sample from one of you."

Grand sighed and yanked a couple of hairs from her mane. "This should do then" she said, rubbing her head. "But we need to hurry, I dont know how long this weather will hold up, so we need to get moving before another blizzard starts up" she said looking up at the sky, which was blue for the moment

Stephan put the hairs inside of the device so it's ready to go when the time comes. "I hope Hearth can make it back on his own. But, anyways, let's get going before there's another one." Stephan finished up his soup and put the device back in his knapsack. "Ready to go!"

Fire Horn had finished his work, it looked...alright? 

"Here you go, Grand, it might be a bit difficult to walk on, but it should work fine." Fire Horn said.

Missy put on her saddlebag and waited with Fire Horn and Stephan just outside the cave, it was sunny, the snow looked beautiful in this new light.

Grand strapped the leg on. it was a little heavier than her other one, and not as maneuverable, but it would do. "Thank you Fire, I really appreciate it" she said, strapping it on. She was already mire accustomed to it. she wouldnt need any help for this walk. "lets get going then" she said, strapping on her saddlebags and putting in the plants she had found earlier

Stephan zipped up his jacket and tightened his boots. "Let's continue on, shall we?" The group of ponies (and a human) began walking through the tundra. The sun glistened off of the snow in a very lovely way. He couldn't help but smile. Everything was going to work out in the end. He could feel it.

Steel flew ten feet above the group -so no one has to die.. So than why did this book of firehorn's say that an alicorn had to die?- steel thought "all that matters Is that we will survive and the plague will be cured than I'll go back to my life of seclusion"steel said aloud

"Cheer up, Steelio." Stephan told him. "Once we get back, Equestria will be back to normal and everypony will be happy again. Besides, have you ever tried going out and making a friend or two?" He asked the pegasus. He hoped that didn't upset him or anything. He was probably already stressed enough.

Missy and Fire Horn were walking together, Missy more balancing on Fire Horn than actually walking.

"We're going to a volcanic region next, said to be another passageway into Tartarus, most dangerous place on the planet." Fire Horn said. "How appropriate, from Cold to Hot."

" I don't know if you've noticed but I don't tend to be a pony others like to be around" steel said as he come down a few feet to talk to Stephan "just ask Missy, she will tell you" steel added while twirling his dagger so he had something to do besides fly and talk

"Did you just say we're going through Tartarus? We are literally going through he'll and back?" She said, more stumbling than walking next to the group. "I didn't realize we're going into another dimension during this whole escapade" she said, "let's just hope my keg doesn't melt into my skin or anything like that then"

"No, thankfully we're not going there, that probably isn't true in any case." Fire Horn responded to Grand.

"Can i get on your back, i'm tired?" Missy asked. Fire Horn rolled his eyes while levitating Missy onto his back.

Missy put her forelegs around Fire Horn's neck and fell asleep.

"She's heavier than i thought." Fire Horn whispered to Grand.

"Celestia knows I'll like it more there than I do here." Stephan said. "I typically love hot areas, but we're seriously heading past Tartarus?" He asked. "Well, if it gets us to the shrine, I guess we have no other faster route." Stephan felt the snow getting lighter under his feet. He could tell that they were getting closer to the edge of the tundra.

"You just need to learn to lighten up, buddy." Stephan told him. "Nopony likes a negative or dark personality in someone. They like ponies that have a bright and positive attitude. Granted, my cockiness can be sort of a turnoff, but I have a bright personality."

Grand let out a snort before composing herself. "It's probably just the wings" she said, watching the snow begin to thin. She picked a few plants as they walked. "Well as long as we aren't walking through hell I think we should be fine" she said, before a rumble coursed through the ground. "What was that?"

Stephan walked up in front of the group. "Looks like we're at the next area, guys. A volcano area, it seems." Stephan looked before the volcano. The giant magma-spewer was surely still active, and it could erupt at any time. "We should progress through here quick. Weather calls for a 100% chance of magma rain."

"I don't know, it could mean anything really, from a giant hellbeast to..." Fire Horn looked up at the giant mountain before them.

"...an eruption." Fire Horn gulped, "Stephan take Missy, i can't run with her on my back, just be careful with her."

Grands eyes got wide as the magma began to leak out of the mountain. "We'll, isn't this adventure just peachy" she said, beginning to run along the rest of the group. The rumbling got even worse. She stumbled, but managed to get up. She ran a little further and stumbled again. "Well this isn't ideal now is it"
