Stephan smiled and shrugged. "If you want, Grand. Light is checking to see if our place is still up. We might as well see if yours is still up as well." Stephan was really hoping at least his and her house were both up and standing. It'd take forever to rebuild his and Light's, with the basement lab and everything.

Starbust and Fire went to see who was in charge of reconstruction, while Missy stood out in front of the library, the tree had long since lost it's leaves, it was a dead tree now.
"Good to see that you're back." Came a voice from the library, it was Twilight. "Come on in, we've got a bit of work to do."

Grand nodded. "Yes,  lets check on my house before anything. Is just down this way" She said, walking down a different road. As they walked up to it, she noticed it was standing, though incredibly shambled. windows were shattered, most of it was ransacked, it was incredibly dirty, and it reeked of death. It would need alot of cleaning, but it still stood.

Missy walked into the library, the windows were smashed, all the books had been torn up and cast aside.
"I should be worrying about my family, but instead, I just want to tidy up this library." Missy complained.
"I understand your magic isn't exactly working properly, so leave sorting the books to me." Twilight said reassuringly.

Stephan walked into the house. "Oh my gosh..." He muttered. The house seemed as if a tornado struck it. "How're we going to clean up all of THIS?" He exclaimed.

 

Light flew back to where his and Stephan's house was. The house was nothing but a heap of concrete. Light's jaw dropped at the meer sight of it. "Oh no... wait, my lab!" Light began to dig under the rubble hoping to find his lab underground.

As everypony was doing their own thing, Zeta had split with the rest to go check on his apartment. The building was worn, but okay in a way. Though, the door had busted down to the stairs up to the 4 rooms that were there, he walked in cautiously and went over to his.

 

The door was open, but from looking inside everything was fine. The bed was used, window open and most of his belongings were smashed. Not like he cared, but they had some good memories with him.

After the little inspection, he went on to clean the rest of his room, going over to the kitchen to set what was left of his pots and pans where they were, and empty out the expired food cabinets to throw away. It took a good bit to finish, but after all was set up, he gently laid down on his bed to rethink everything.

Man.. 9 years since I last visited my home, and it still feels normal. I should get back soon, but maybe i'll just lay here a little longer.

Grand sighed. "well, we can work on it after I see my sister, lets head back to the hospital" She said, turning around and walking to the makeshift hospital. She walked up to one of the volunteer nurses and smiled. "Hello, is there a young mare here by the name of Caramel Corn?"

"Yes, just down that hallway there" she said, gesturing down into what used to be an office.

"Thank you!" she said excitedly

Steel looked around at the town or what used to be a town he still had his cloak on "does anyponyknow who I should give my donation to"steel asked"i assume you need bits to help rebuild"steel added add he pulled out by his large bash of bits he kept hits head under the shadow if his hood

Stephan followed Grand to Caramel Corn's room. When they entered, they saw a teenage mare with frizzy hair, but not as frizzy as how Grand remembered it. She still looked quite young for her age, even after she was turned into a trotter than changed back into a pony. Stephan smiled at Grand. "Well, what are you waiting for? Go see her." He said.

The young mare was incredibly skinny, and laid in bed tiredly. Grands eyes teared up as she walked up to her little sister.

"Caramel? Caramel, how are you feeling?" she said quietly, seeing as the pony wasnt looking at her.

The young mares ears pricked up as she tried to remember the voice. "Grandy? Grandy is that you?" She said in a sickly tone, turning her head to see her sister.

Grand smiled widely and tears rolled down her face. "Yeah Caramel, its me"

The Yellow unicorn turned to her sister and she began to cry as well before reaching for her sister, who gladly fell into her arms and hugged her tightly.

"I missed you so much. I'm sorry I never took you with me, I'm so sorry"

The sickly pony just hugged her sister back "Dont you ever be sorry, you saved my life, and thousands of others"

In the midst of the reuniting with his room, Zeta remembered about Grand and them seeing Caramel Corn together, which he totally forgot about along the way to Ponyville. So he stood up quickly but carefully, getting his crutch and started to hobble off to her.

 

In a decent rate, he caught up to the hospital, asking the nurse there for directions as well and went over to her room, to see the two ponies hugging. He stopped at the doorway looking in since he had spotted Stephan with them as well.

"I'm so sorry that I came late you three. Please forgive me, knowing that I forgot about visiting your sister Grand."

Stephan almost teared up at the sight. It was great to have reunited Grand and Caramel. It had been one of his main goals throughout the outbreak. Stephan just stayed out of Grand and Caramel's way at the doorway and let them have their family reunion.

Stephan turned to Zeta and smiled. "Don't go in. Let them do their thing." He told him.

Grand finally let go of her sister, but held onto one of her hooves. "You poor dear, youre so sickly" she said, looking at her sisters tiny body.

 

"No, I'm fine. I just need to eat more, thats all. They said I can go home... as soon as I get one" She said, struggling to fully sit up.

 

"I missed you so much. It was heartbreaking to see you... as one of them" she said, shaking the memory

 

"Yeah, it wasnt too great for me either. I'm just glad to be back. I'm glad to have you back"

 

Grand smiled. "I promise I'll clean up home, and bring you back as soon as I can. I want you home right away" She said, just looking at her sisters face. She snapped back to reality. "Oh, I would like you to meet a few of my closest friends. This is Zeta and Stephan" She said, nodding at them

He gave a nod to Stephan, watching the two reunite from behind the doorway which also had made Zeta smile. "You know Stephan, I wonder if more then just hers, Missy's, and your friends and family were reunited. I wish I could say the same, but the only other reunion I could have was Paint, which still isn't here..."

 

After the little sentence, he gave a small wave to Caramel corn. "Hello there!"

Stephan smiled and walked into the room. "Hey, kiddo. I'm Blasted Nova. You can just call me Stephan. Everypony does nowadays." He told Caramel. "It's good to see you alive. It has been one of my biggest goals to get you and Grand back together. I can finally say that we've done just that." He said with a grin.

Caramel smiled at the newcomers. "Its nice to meet you" She said meekly, shuffling in her bed. "Thanks for bringing her back in one piece" at that comment Grand laughed a little.

"Not quite" She said, removing the prosthetic leg. She laughed at her sisters reaction

"Well, almost in one piece" She said with a smile. "how did that happen Grandy?"

"Got bit, but I managed to avoid turning"

Caramel sighed. "You wouldve hated it"

Stephan nodded and looked at Caramel. "If I could say one thing about your sister, it's that she's one of the strongest mares I've ever met. She never gave up when the times were tough, and I'm happy I was able to meet her on my ventures through this hellhole we call home nowadays." He complimented.

"I can easily agree with Stephan here." Zeta said, walking inside the room before leaning against his crutch. "My name is Hyperion Zeta. Me and this guy, along with the help of the others protected Grand from any death. To say the least, I think she was the most help to us all as well."

"still a complete fool when it comes to colts Grandy?" Grand turned beet red and flipped her head to face her sister. "I am not!" Caramel just laughed again

Stephan let out a "heh" and returned to Caramel. "This whole adventure... wow. Just, amazing. I'm not going on anymore adventures for a while after this. I just need some time to sit down and take a breath." He said, feeling a little worn out after recent events.

"still a complete fool when it comes to colts Grandy?" Grand turned beet red and flipped her head to face her sister. "I am not!" Caramel just laughed again

 

"I'd disagree much Grand. You've been such a great pony to help out all of us, and even gave me a will to live, heh.."

Zeta followed suit, letting out a little laugh before turning the other direction to cough. But once he recovered, he turned back to the two. "I hate to admit in front of your sister as well, but you've also managed to cheer up our spirits, especially Stephan's here."

Stephan smirked. "Well, when I have an objective, I do everything I can to see it through. I'm glad I was able to see this one through, too, even after everything we've been through." Stephan sat down in the chair next to Caramel's bed.

 

Light finally managed to dig right under the debris and he found his lab perfectly intact. Though, everything was broken down due to a lack of power.

After a small while, Missy and Twilight had tidied up the main area of the library. The tree was still dead, so the walls were grey.

"How are we going to fix this?" Missy asked worriedly, it might be like this for good.

"Well, it's certainly going to take a while, but we can fix this." Twilight said, motivating Missy.

Missy remembered that Grand was supposed to be visiting her sister at the hospital. She ran over there and entered the room where she was with her sister, Stephan and Zeta.

"Hey guys, what'd I miss?" Missy asked.

Anyway, we were just talking about what has happened over the course of us going out to find the cure."
