Stephan walked over to where the rest of the group was and collapsed on the ground. He had enough of all of this. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but, please, no more." He said. "I just need a day or two to catch my breath." His hope wasn't drained, though. He was determined to fight to the end, but he just needed a moment.

Grand walked over to Stephan. "We all have Stephan, but we don't have time to rest. We need to get everyone back into shape" she said as she lowered her sister onto a hospital bed. She needed food and water more than medical attention. "We need to start rebuilding... Again" she sighed

"Well, I don't know if you've noticed, but we're a bit low on food right now, the town's current population is 43, that means we'll have to divide up the food and water, no-one gets priority, that's how things have to be for us to survive." Fire said.
"But can't we help Caramel." Starburst whispered. "She's not injured but she needs it more than we do."

"Starburst, there's no such thing as ill or healthy or injured, there's just alive or dead and she's alive." Fire said.

Steel finished raiding the bandits bodies he had find two hand guns six boxes of ammo a shut gun and a box of ammo for that as well along with several knives "who wants guns"steel asked the group add he pulled them out with the ammo "I also found some knives"

Grand walked over to fire. "Now normally I would agree with you fire, but the ponies who are injured, I'll, or the children eat first. You wouldn't want missy to without would you? I can go without food for a day or two, but my sister and missy both need food. They get priority" she said sternly, looking at the full hospital

Stephan sighed and got back up to his hooves. "Well, if somepony's going to go out and try to salvage some food or water, I think I'll do it. I need to get away from all of this for at least two minutes." He said. Light then flew down to his side. "If you're going out into that world , I'm going with you. It's still a dangerous world out there, even though everything is starting to return to normal."

"We need to keep as much food as we possibly can for the winter, I don't want to jeopardize the safety of my child, but that's the way things are gonna work from now on." Fire said, walking past Grand. "We need to take inventory, go check on supplies, see how much we have right now."

Grand huffed and stomped down to the storage, grumbling the whole way. "The injured will get food first, I promise" she said to herself as she walked into the storage, which had several boxes if dried food and bottled water. It would supply quite a few ponies. She grabbed a notebook and scribbled down some numbers

"I could probably say, without looking, that our food and water supply is running scarce." Stephan noted. "But, if you want me to go check, I will." Stephan and Light walked into the lower part of the hospital where the food was being kept. When they got down there, there was barely enough food or water to feed even a few families.

"Only a couple of gallons of water and just 3 bags of oats? Sheesh, they are running on fumes." Light said.

The guys ran back upstairs to Fire. "We should definitely head out, Fire. There's barely anything."

Fire thought for a moment, they had to get food, either through trading or.....

"OK, so we have to......." Fire paused. "...we have two choices, trade with other towns and cities, but we don't have much to trade with other than weapons."

"Choice two?" Starburst asked.

"We find the bandits and we take all their supplies." Fire said.

Stephan and Light thought for a moment. "We shouldn't trade our weapons." Light said. "If we do, we're leaving ourselves open to whatever crazy stuff is out there." He noted.

"I say some of us find the bandits and take some of their supplies, as well as take back the stuff they stole from us."

(I'm imagining this as a sort of game, you know the ones where you manage a town/city/spaceship/anything.)

 

"Right, well, we need rules right now, no citizens are allowed possession of more than one weapon." Fire said. "Food is rationed evenly, it belongs to everypony. If anypony breaks the rules, they're out of Ponyville."

Stephan smirked and shook his head. "Don't worry about me breaking the rules, Fire. I'm not one for weapons, at least not anymore. That was when I was Ghost."

"If I need a weapon of any sort, I'll just make one." Light chimed in. "I'm sure I could build something out of the spare metal junk around here."

Grand returned from the cellar to hear fires remark. "Fire, let's not get ahead of ourselves. I think you might be getting ahead of yourself. I think we need a group of leaders, not just one." She said seriously, giving him the notebook. "That's what I managed to find, do with it what you will, but please think about getting a council of sorts together. One wouldn't want to be driven mad with power" she said sternly

"Heh, I'll keep that in mind." Fire said with a chuckle, reading Grand's inventory of their food and supplies. "Grand, you're one of few with medical skills, I believe you're needed in the hospital, one of the doctor's was killed in the attack, plus many of the population were injured." Fire kept scanning over the inventory.

Grand nodded warily. "If course, I'll help any way I can. Though painkillers will be necessary, we want these ponies to be as comfortable as possible" she said, peeking at the inventory list and making note if it. "I'll make sure these ponies are as comfortable as possible" she nodded

Stephan let out a slight "heh." "It looks like mostly everything is under control, but only for the time being." He said. He then turned to Fire. "What about me and Light? What are we going to be doing?" He asked. He was ready to help out the ruined town in anyway the duo possibly can.

The list of supplies read as such:
3 bags of oats.

2 gallons of water

4 bottles of painkillers

50 9mm clips

4 pistols

 

"You two, well, Light will mostly be working with the few builders we have, and you're the muscle, you'll be doing the negotiating with other towns." Fire said.

Stephan shrugged. "Not exactly what I was expecting, but okay. At least it'll give me some sort of excuse to get out of town for a while." He said, strapping on his saddle bags just in case he has to head somewhere later into the day. He took out his last few bags of trail mix. "Better add this to the list.: He then gave the bags to Fire.

Grand immediately walked into the hospital and got the names of all the patients. "I suppose I'm playing doctor again" she sighed, walking into the first patients room. An older colt with some bruised hips. "Hello sir, I'm grand finale and I'll be taking care of you" she smiled, tending to his wounds. He felt so skinny. "Might I ask when was the last time you eaten?"

"A day or two ago"

Grand pursed her lips.

Twilight woke up, with blurry vision she could barely see a thing.

"Hello? Is there anypony there?" Twilight asked.

Fire walked over to Starburst who was watching Caramel.
"Hey, you don't have feelings for her, do you?" Fire asked abruptly.

"What?! No, no of course not." Starburst said, surprised.

Grand finished tending to the older colt before smiling and telling him she would be back later. The next patient happened to be Twilight. Grand entered the room and looked at her with a smile. "Hello Ms. sparkle, are you feeling alright?" She asked as she checked her wounds. They weren't as bad as they were before

Light went in the direction f his and Stephan's destroyed house. "I'm going to focus on rebuilding our home. If we're going to help rebuild this town, we should at least have a roof over our heads. I'll catch you later." Light then flew off into the distance, leaving Stephan on his own.

 

Stephan heard a shout from Starburst. Curious as to what is going on, he walked over to him and Fire. "What's all the screaming about?" He asked.

Twilight jumped as somepony entered the room.
"Hello? Who is that? I can barely see." Twilight said. "I'm a half-blind bookworm, how ironic."

"I can tell that you do. But keep it to yourself for now. We've got a lot of work to do until Ponyville is restored." Fire said, patting Starburst on the back and walking away. "I'd rather not talk about it." Fire said to Stephan as he walked past.

Zeta was left alone, looking at the burnt building of his former apartment though he didn't think too badly of losing it. And I just cleaned the place up too... He thought.

So he decided to lean up against a wall to sit down and recover a bit more. The hard day put some strain on his newly worked body, which had gotten him very tired after all of what has happened.
