[The Ponyville Critic 304]

Missy floated uneasily down from where she was, but her magic cut off half-way so she fell most of the way. She got up, hoof sprained, possibly broken from the fall, she was suddenly confronted by a duo of timber wolves. With limited magic and no flight, things weren't looking good.

 

"I won't accept any help until I can guarantee the safety of my subjects, and you won't be staying here, you'll be heading out to Ponyville to check on the situation." Luna said, sitting in the throne. "I'll be staying here and screening the guards."

Stephan saw the wolves surrounding Missy and he immediately sprang into action. He jumped in front of Missy, leaving the pack of timber wolves to corner both of them. He then turned his head to the mare.

"Don't get any ideas. I'm doing this just out of instinct." Stephan said, looking viciously at the wolves. "Get away... if you know what's good for you."

"Um, alright then, Luna..." Zeta nodded and sighed, then turned to walk out the door. But before being able to even do that, he turned back around and ran up to Luna, giving her a really big and tight hug. "Please be careful, I care deeply about you as my Princess.." And then he finally let go and left.

"Come on idiot, they're timber wolves, they don't have brains." Missy scoffed. "And furthermore, why did you come here?"

 

Luna looked on as Zeta left, taking a deep breath before looking around the throne room.
"I know all of you are changelings!" Luna said, getting up from the throne and staring at the room of about 15 guards, who almost immediately turned into changelings and charged at her, Within 5 minutes she had killed all of them, slightly more injured than she'd like but she killed them all.

Zeta was too far away to hear what was going on in the castle, and had begun running quickly to Ponyville. He got there quick enough to meet Starburst and Caramel (( whereever they are )) and stopped. "Starburst, Caramel! Why is Grand, Grand... That's what I was feeling.. She's discorded.. And, um, uh, where are the others..?"

"Why? There's a situation going on. Apparently, they need all of us there." Stephan began to go to work on the animals. When he was normal, he vowed that he would never willing kill anypony or anything. Now that he was discorded, he was completely relentless, snapping the necks and legs of the wolves, effectively killing them. When they were all dead, Stephan picked up Missy and put her on his back. "You better hold on, mare." Stephan began to jet back to the house.

"We have to figure out a way to reverse all this." Starburst said. "Before it gets any worse that is. And I thought you were in prison, or something." Starburst was confused.

 

A doctor came up to Luna and offered to help her with her injuries but she refused again.

"I have to co-ordinate the castle for a full-scale changeling attack, we need to search the dungeons of this castle, the guards must be in there somewhere." Luna said. "I don't know how everything got this way." Luna sat in the throne, thinking back to her 'encounter' with Zeta.

Zeta shook his head. "I was in prison, but... My princess, Luna.. She said I could get out if I was to be her personal guard. You know how loyal I am to the princess's, so I had to accept no matter what. Anyways she sent me down here because I felt like something was wrong, I was right actually. Tell me, who has been discorded so far?"

Stephan opened up the door and heard what Zeta said as he rolled in)

"Nearly everypony has been discorded, Zeta. Nearly everypony." Stephan threw Missy on the couch and rolled back up to the others. "Well, I didn't expect to see you here, Zeta." Stephan said with folded arms.

"Whatever's going on, they seem to be going after us, the element bearers first, and since the others can't use the elements anymore, it's up to us, and since we need all six of us to be co-operative, it's not going to happen without a little effort." Starburst turned to see Stephan come in with Missy.

 

"Hey, don't throw me, I'm not just some piece of cargo!" Missy yelled. "And why did you bring me back he...." Starburst shot her with a stun spell. "My, my, this day is getting worse by the second."

Zeta nodded. "Starburst, you need to be careful not to fall into it, since you don't want to make Caramel sad. Anyways, we have pretty much everypony gathered where we need to, so lets all be here." Then he realized about one other pony. "Where is your dad, Starburst?"

"Well, you aren't exactly lightweight, Missy!" Stephan yelled back as her as Starburst used a stun spell on her. Stephan sighed and turned back to the others. "Well, looks like that the gang is all here!" He said in a forced cheerful tone. "So, what now? How do you suppose we do this?"

"He's upstairs, just moping in the corner of a room, Moon isn't doing very good." Starburst said. "Everything's just getting so messed up. I don't know if things can even get any worse." Starburst sat on the couch next to the unconscious Missy. He began to go a different color.

Zeta nodded and went to grab Fire. He drug him down the steps no matter what and sat him down next to Starburst. Then he noticed the kid changing colors, and looked at him. "Starburst, it won't get worse, trust me. I'll fix all of this, just settle down and think a bit. I need you and Caramel right now, so, please bear with me.."

Starburst turned to Zeta and nodded, still a slightly less vibrant version of his old color. 

"Right. We need to figure out what actually caused each one, there must be a connection." Starburst said, getting up off the couch.

"Dad, you need to stop moping." Starburst pointed at Fire.

"I'm not moping, I'm not even depressed." Fire said, looking away.

Stephan went over to Fire and smacked him across the face.

"Suck it up, you big baby." Stephan said to him, putting him back down. He then rolled over to the others. "If you have no idea what you're doing, then why am I even wasting my time with this?? I could be sleeping at my home, but we need to go and search for more shit??"

"We have everypony here so we have something, we just need to slap my mum into consciousness and then... well, you all have to stay here for a bit until we figure out what the hell it is we're going to do about it." Starburst turned to Zeta. "Alright, how's Canterlot, how's Luna?"

"Ugh, more waiting??" Stephan said, taking an empty beer bottle that happened to be there and throwing it across the room. The glass bottle landed into the wall and shattered. "If we all just wait around and do absolutely nothing, we'll never get anything accomplished!

Grand again woke up, but before she could speak she vomited on the ground. She looked at it, dazed for a moment before looking up. "I'm not cleaning that up, you can do it" she said, not gesturing to anyone in particular. She stumbled around before falling into the snow. "I don't want to be here, this is no fun" she mumbled into the snow pile

Caramel sighed, looking at Starburst. "Don't you dRe turn like that on me" she said seriously

Starburst turned to Caramel and pulled her closer into a hug.

"I'm glad I have you here with me, if I didn't have you, then, I really don't know where my life'd be." Starburst said, color returning to him. "I made a promise to you, and I intend to keep it." 

"Booo." Fire yelled, waving his hoof.

Stephan was sick of all of this. They had a situation going on here, and all he cares about is this mussy nonsense? Stephan rolled over to the shattered beer bottle and picked it up off of the ground. Not a single ounce of color was left on him. He only wanted things to be dealt with, even if it took hitting somepony with the bottle. Stephan rolled over to Starburst and was about to hit him with the bottle... but was hesitant.

"Alright, I can tell some ponies are getting a little restless, so we're gonna go over a plan." Starburst said. "We need to turn everypony back to how they were before, there's more than just a town at risk here, this force must be powerful, so the whole of Equestria could be in danger."

Stephan lowered down the bottle.

"The fast we can get on top of that, the better." Stephan said, looking down at his cast. He still felt handicapped to be held back by just a few bandages around his ankles. "Perhaps it has something to do with our elements." Stephan took out his element of loyalty. "Everypony who has an element, check yours real quick."

If Starburst had fingers he would've clicked them.

"Exactly, the elements." Starburst said, going and getting his element from Caramel's room. "You know, some people say I'm quite fun. Not many, but I do laugh, and all that. Even if I might not show it, at heart I'm the element of laughter."

Fire's element just kind of appeared.

Caramel smiled at Starburst before he ran off to get the elements. Caramel sighed, looking at all the discarded ponies. a ferocious Missy, a careless Grand, a self serving Stephan, and a moping Fire. It was incredibly odd seeing them act this way,
