"Well, I can't help out with the fires, and I can't really run or anything, so I can't really do anything, where should I go?" Dash asked. "I don't want to go home, but I don't want to be where all this chaos is."

 

"Neither do I, now that I think about it." Fire said, looking around the place, noticing the big hole in the roof. "Wow, that's certainly substantial damage.

 

Starburst had followed after Twilight and Fluttershy, but Twilight stopped him.

"I think you should go and help somepony else, you know, the one you love a lot, like you said." Twilight joked.

"Alright, I do want to help though." Starburst replied, flying off towards the house. "Caramel?"

"Perhaps we should go and find Twilight. Maybe she has something for ponies like us to do." Stephan began walking around the town, keeping an eye up to the sky for Twilight or Fluttershy. Looking back at Dash, he felt sorry for her. She wasn't showing it, but he could tell that she missed flying through the skies, a lot.

Caramel sighed, looking at the destroyed town, but waved at Starburst. "Look at this place, its a total wreck. Right after we finished rebuilding everything too" She sighed, dlightly frustrated. "Oh well,  guess we just have to build it up again" She said, forcing a determined smile

Twilight was flying across the town, making sure everypony was doing their jobs, then suddenly, a nearby building exploded into flames.

The explosion sent out debris and one of the pieces hit Twilight on the wing, she quickly hovered uneasily down, then seeing Stephan and Dash.

"Stephan, come with me, we have to help the people in that house, I can hear screams." Twilight said, jumping into the fiery building.

 

"Don't worry Caramel, things will all be fine, eventually, we'll be able to have a normal life, I promise you that." Starburst said.

Stephan put his game face on and gave a determined nod. He then broke down a window and jumped inside of the building. It was way too hot in there for his liking, especially with the colder outdoor atmosphere.

"Hello?? Anypony in here?? If you can here me, call out your name. I'm gonna save you!" He called out at the top of his lungs.

"TWILIGHT!" A familiar voice yelled.
"Pinkie? Is that you?" Twilight called.

"Yes, *cough*, it's me, I'm trapped." Pinkie said "Come help me."

Twilight followed the source of the voice, felling more light-headed by the second. "Come on!" Twilight called to Stephan through the smoke.

Stephan tried to lift the rubble off of Pinkie's body. He could lift up enough of it to lift the pink mare out of the pile and put her around his back. He then looked over to Twilight and noticed that she was falling fast as well. He put supported Twilight and help her outside. He then heard the house beginning to collapse behind him. At that moment, he began to run as fast as he could towards the window, vision becoming more blurry by the minute.

Twilight's vision was beginning to fade a little. Just then, the building caved in on top of them.

 

"STEPHAN!" Rainbow yelled, running over, trying to dodge bits of fire.

She began diggin through rubble, when she noticed a magenta glow coming from the pile, she then realised it was Twilight, they were safe.
"Stephan? Twilight? Are you alright?" Dash asked.

Stephan coughed a few times and then looked up at Rainbow Dash. He gave a weak smile, trying to assure her that he was gonna be okay.

"I'm alright enough, Dash..." Stephan said, beginning to get up. Just then, he heard an ear-jerking crack in his backside. He let out a yelp and fell back down. "Forget about me... where's Pinkie?"

"I'm over here!" Pinkie said gleefully, popping her head out from behind Stephan.

Twilight shimmied herself out of the rubble, one of her wings had been injured.

"Alright, we've still got work to do, I'll just have to coordinate it from the ground now." Twilight said. "And we're glad you're okay Pinkie, thank Celestia we found you in there."
"Nah, I just thank you guys." Pinkie said, hopping over to Twilight and giving her a big hug.

 

"Sister? What are you planning?" Luna asked.

"We're going to Ponyville in a small while, it's still Hearth's Warming, and my subjects are going to celebrate it, one way or another." Celestia said.

"Alright then. I will inform them to gather in the town hall, or outside it. You will have to repair it, I saw that it had been under attack." Luna replied, following her older sister.

Stephan slowly got back up to his hooves and stretched his legs. A small part of his torso was fractured, but nothing major. He then walked up to Rainbow Dash and kissed her cheek.

"Thanks for getting me out from under that." Stephan said, smiling at her and turning to Pinkie and Twilight. "You guys can get by for now, right?"

"Yes, we'll be fine." Twilight said, leading Pinkie away from the house, she seemed upbeat, yet slightly depressed.

"You really have to stop doing dangerous things, if it weren't for Twilight, you wouldn't be alive." Dash said.

(She had put up a forcefield just before the impact, it stopped the rubble from killing the three of them.)

"Dash, these days, doing dangerous things are the only things that I know HOW to do." Stephan said, cracking his back. "I have an instinct for always jumping in and helping anypony in need. I can't stop myself from that" He then grabbed Dash's hooves. "Keeping ponies safe is what makes my life worth living, even if it means that I get caught in the crossfire, which is all the time."

"I know that you can't, but I just worry about you, that one day you're gonna get eaten by a timber wolf or something." Dash said, pulling her hooves away. "And I know this probably isn't the best place to ask you, but... what does our relationship mean to you? Are you just with me to pass the time until you find somepony else?"

Stephan sighed.
"Dash, I won't throw you for any loops; I still have feelings for Grand Finale. But, those feelings have passed me by. I've moved on, and we're together. I love you with all of my heart, Dash, and that's about as truthful as the truth can get." Stephan looked away with a sad expression on his face. "I understand if you don't want to be with me anymore after saying those things, but I'm telling nothing but the truth. I could never lie to you."

"That's not what I mean Stephan." Dash sighed. "I understand that neither of us are the type for settling down with somepony, given how our lives were, always moving, but eventually, I'm going to want something like that, so if you're never going to be ready for that kind of commitment, we'd be best just staying apart."

Stephan looked back up at Dash.

"You know, Dash, I talked to Fire about a similar matter earlier. I miss the thrills and excitement that filled me when I was adventuring. But, you're right. Given how our lives are now, I won't have the time. Eventually, I'll grow old, and I won't even have the muscle to adventure anymore." Stephan admitted. "From now on, I won't seek out adventure, but rather have adventure seek out me. I'm not ready to settle down, at least not yet."

Dash hesitated as she heard somepony walk by.

"Thank you...Stephan. Everypony assumes me to be the unromantic type but that's not really true." Dash said. "I have a reputation to uphold, or I did.... when I found out little Scoots was dead, I didn't see the point in it anymore."

Stephan put his hooves on Dash's shoulders and tried to comfort her.

"I'm sorry about Scootaloo, Dash. I could see that she was like a sister to you." He said to her, wiping a few tears away. "But, no matter what happens, you'll always be Rainbow Dash in my eyes. I promise." He said with a sad expression.

Dash wiped away her tears and took a deep breath.

"I love you, Stephan. now, I'll go with the others to find Rarity, then we'll enjoy what's left of the night. You should go and help everypony with the repairs." Dash said, kissing him before walking away seductively, tail waving in the wind.

Stephan watched as Rainbow Dash walked away. The way she did it nearly made him have a heart attack. Once she was out of his sight, he ran back to Grand's house to check up on everypony. He would make it quick, though. They have a house. Most of the townspeople were left with nothing.

After pretty much a hard night's work to bump up the castle back together, everypony finished what they could and took a break. Zeta looked over to Grand for a moment, giving a sigh before he slowly walked away from them looking a little depressed.

 

Meanwhile, Moon was in the couch holding Fire's baby. "Hey Glint, you want some milk?"

The idea of being fed would please any child and Glint was no different, so she nodded lightly.

 

After Dash walked away, she observed Stephan's expression, it was priceless.

"Now, to find Rarity." Dash trotted through the town at a steady pace, seeing all the ruined buildings around her, the attack hadn't lasted long but it was brutal.

Moon felt the little nod from holding Glint, and got up from the couch. She sat down floor and leaned on the couch, before spreading out her body and let her down where she needed to be.

 

Siri looked to Moon and took a little thought, coming around to her as well. "Mm, um... Mommy..? Is that, milk?"

 

"Why yes it is darling, why?"

 

"Oh, uh... Okay.." She sat there watching as her mother moved Glint. But Moon could read Sirius without looking at all, and smiled. "Siri.. You're still my baby, and I can remember you from the day you were born, so come join..~"

 

The girl was shocked at first, but nodded since she was technically right. So she bent down, going next to Glint and began drinking.

 

Moon just giggled and looked up to Fire. "Classy, huh? Anyways, do you want to do anything once this fever settles down..? I don't know what caused it though, it was weird.."

"If you mean anything sexual, I'm not gonna go there again, not after last time, but I will stay with you." Fire said. "Anyway, Missy will be getting back soon, you might want to finish up there and we'll wait for them." Fire sat down again and sighed.

 

"Missy?" Celestia called.

"Yes, Princess?" Missy replied.

"We're heading back out to Ponyville, there's a little something I've got prepared for later." Celestia said, it was a couple hours before midnight, meaning it was still Hearth's Warming. "Get on my back, we're flying there."

"Come on Grand, let's go!" Missy yelled gleefully as she got up onto Celestia's back.
