Stephan was beginning to worry about Caramel, too. Starburst was a perfectly capable pony to protect Caramel, but he was still worried about the young mare. He looked at Grand. "I hope you know that your sister's safely is very important to me." He told her. "It has been my goal to make sure you two together since we started looking for her 8 years ago, and that's a goal I intend to accomplish."

Starburst started walking in the direction of Ponyville. Hoepfully the destruction wasn't too bad.

"Are you feeling alright? We're going to have to get you back to the hospital once we get back to the town." Starburst said, soon they found the others. "Hey guys, I kept her safe."

Stephan smiled at the sight of Starburst and Caramel. "Nice work, Starburst. It's good to see both of you back in one piece." He said in a happy tone.

Just then, Light Streak appeared before the group, covered in bomb ashes and such. "Thank goodness. I thought you all got blown up!" He exclaimed.

Grand rushed to her sister and hugged her tightly. "Oh thank goodness your alive" she said joyfully. "Thank you for keeping her safe starburst"

 

 

Caramel was too tired to fight her sisters affections, but she was happy her sister was safe nonetheless. "I doubt the hospital is still in one piece, I'll be fine" she said weakly

"No problem, Grand. I'm just glad I was able to keep her safe." Starburst let Caramel off so she could lean on Grand.

Starburst turned around to see Missy on Stephan with bandages on her.

"What happened to her? Is she okay? Is she dead?" Starburst asked, running up to Stephan.

Stephan shook his head. "Nah, she's just wounded, bad. We need to get her some help as soon as we can." He said, pointing the painfully obvious.

Light walked up to Starburst and tapped his shoulder. "Just what was all of those explosions about? And who is that teenage mare you brought along? Is she the sister of Grand Stephan has been telling me about?" He asked.

 

((OOC: Since Light wasn't there for any of this, he is completely oblivious to everything.))

Zeta came into the crowd, gently setting Twilight down in front of them. "Missy wasn't the only one injured in this. She has sustained a few broken bones and some major and minor cuts and bruises from what I see."

"Yes, her name's Caramel, just before the attack, i climbed in through her hospital window." Starburst turned to look at Caramel, a smile on his face. He turned suddenly. "Ponyville was raided by bandits, for supplies that we couldn't afford to lose."

Grand looked at the group before realizing someone was missing. "Where's firehorn?" She said, letting her sister onto her back. Caramel was incredibly light, but quite tall, so she had to crawl into a ball on her back. "Has anyone seen him?" She said, looking back in the direction of ponyville

Light gasped. "Bandits? Why now? Why is all of this stuff happening right after the outbreak??" Light exclaimed. "Doesn't matter. We've got other things to worry about." Light then walked over to Caramel. "I guess I should introduce myself." He said. "I'm Light Streak, Stephan's best friend and scientific genius. I'm glad you and your sister are finally reunited after nearly a decade." He said with a smile.

 

Stephan's eyes widened at what Grand said. He turned his direction to the ruined Ponyville. "You don't think... we left him, do you?" Stephan asked, hoping he'd get the answer he wanted to hear.

Fire was in Ponyville, helping with emergency preperations for any future attacks.

Starburst was more worried about Missy than Fire, the bullet wounds looked bad.

"Come on then, let's get back to Ponyville, she needs proper medical treatment." Starburst said, but befor ehe ran off, he said to Caramel. "By the way, I'm gonna need that back later." Starburst gave a smile and ran off towards Ponyville.

Grand looked at starburst then looked at her sister, who was smiling. "I don't think so, you're too sick to be chasing after boys, because I know you'll do just that" she said before walking back to ponyville. Caramel grumbled under her breath "its not that.." Grand rolled her eyes and continued walking

Light watched as Grand and Caramel walked. He then folded his front arms and flew next to Stephan as he walked. "How rude. She didn't even say hi when I introduced myself." He said.

"Ah, don't worry about it, man." Stephan told Light. "We just need to worry about finding Fire before it's too late."

Meanwhile, Zeta picked up the unconscious Twilight up and walked along the back of the group to go look for Fire as well. He was a little frustrated on how the rest of the group thought, only to care for Missy and not really her. It seemed as if his efforts to pick her up and carry her were wasted, since he too was still recovering from the injury.

But, he just let out a sigh and walked along, making sure she didn't fall off his back.

Stephan and Light slowed down and walked next to Zeta. "You've been remarkably quiet throughout this whole thing." Stephan commented. "I something the matter?" He asked. He noticed that Princess Twilight and Missy were both suffering similar injuries. He hoped that they could get to Fire quickly so they could get the mares medical attention as soon as possible.

Starburst arrived back in Ponyville, it was awful, dead ponies littered the streets, both innocent and bandits. Fire was in the centre of town creating barricades and reinforcements for existing walls.
"Dad!" Starburst ran to Fire, Fire turned to see him and gave him a hug.

"Hey, how's your mother doing?" Fire asked. "...and Twilight, how is she?"

"I don't know, she hasn't woken up yet." Starburst said. "Twilight's in bad condition though."

Stephan and Light slowed down and walked next to Zeta. "You've been remarkably quiet throughout this whole thing." Stephan commented. "I something the matter?" He asked. He noticed that Princess Twilight and Missy were both suffering similar injuries. He hoped that they could get to Fire quickly so they could get the mares medical attention as soon as possible.

"No, nothing is the matter Stephan. I don't really have anything to talk about now, since I've run out of subjects not too long ago." He said, looking to him and Light. "Though, I realized something about Grand. She's put me in a dangerous situation after I stayed alive through the procedure..."

Zeta only shook his head. "I didn't mean it in that way, Stephan.. What I meant was, after we finished saving the world, I was going to let myself die from cancer since there was nothing else to live for. But she, she convinced me to try to stay alive and in all odds I did. But now..

 

Now, if you get Grand. Then the whole operation, and everything from then until now will be pointless for me and i'll just go back to my old depressed state."

Stephan sighed and put his hoof on Zeta's shoulder. "Zeta, there's always something to live for. After we save the world again, if I don't get her, it's not like I won't have anything else. I'll still have you guys, and I'll still have a life of adventure to go back to." He said. "If I have something else to live for, you must have something else, too. "

"That's where you're wrong Stephan." Zeta said, pushing his hoof off his shoulder and looked the other way. "I have nothing left, and even good friends cant help me on it. I'm not saying you guys aren't worth anything to me, because you're worth more then my bank holds by a lot, but there isn't any other reason to live for anymore."

Stephan was beginning to get saddened. He felt bad for Zeta. He was saying all of these things, but he tried not to believe them. Not even for a second. "I wish there was something I could do Zeta. Something to help you realize that there's always something to live for."

The group was appearing in the distance. Starburst and Fire ran over to them, Fire took Missy from Stephan and brought her to the husk of the hospital, sitting her down on a make-shift bed.

"Breathing is irregualr, most likely a punctured lung due to the placement of the gunshot wound." Fire said. "We need to get her checked out, any number of things could've happened to our child."

Grand walked tiredly into town, feeling drained and hopeless due to her surroundings, but she kept going. "I thought I would be used to seeing corpses by now, but it still makes me nauseous" she said, trying to avoid looking at them. Her sister slept restlessly on her back, hugging the cape closely

Steel had followed the bandits for a while but decided it was time to head back to ponyvile once he was therehesaw the group but in love instead of talking to then he began raiding the bodies of the bandits he found knives guns and ammo and he had more to raid
