Big Mac was taking a break from the farm work. While he was walking around the town, he saw Stephan lying in the street.

"Oh my... looks like the feller isn't lookin' so good. I better get the poor guy some help." He picked up Stephan on his back and proceeded towards the hospital.

"Radiation Poisoning, how is that even possible? How could he have gotten it?" Missy asked. "Wait, that explosion earlier, was that anything to do with it?" Missy wondered whether Starburst had something to do with it. 

 

Fire took Steel into the hospital and lay him down on a make-shift bed. He looked at the doctor.
"He's got radiation poisoning, expect 3 more cases."

As Grand took care of Starburst, he checked into the one little filly's health to make sure everything was alright before looking to her. The parents of the pony were there as well, looking over the baby when Zeta walked in and smiled. "A beautiful baby girl, huh. Don't worry, i'll check on her and make sure she's doing alright."

It took not too long at all to check everything on the filly, telling the two parents that she was alright and walked out to go find Grand.

Grand entered the room to see Steel there as well. At this point her hunger and exhaustion has completely gotten to her. "You guys had to blow up their base with NUCLEAR WEAPONS?" She said, knowing neither of them could hear her. She stomped her hooves and grouchily began working on their detox process

Fire walked over to Grand.

"OK, that's Starburst and Steel, we've still got Stephan and Light missing." Fire said.

 

Missy started to get up off the bed because she didn't want to be in the bed any longer, she put her hooves shakily on the ground, but she couldn't walk.

Grand entered the room to see Steel there as well. At this point her hunger and exhaustion has completely gotten to her. "You guys had to blow up their base with NUCLEAR WEAPONS?" She said, knowing neither of them could hear her. She stomped her hooves and grouchily began working on their detox process

Zeta entered the room to hear Grand pouting, and went over next to Fire to comfort her. "Grand, it's alright. We all make some pretty stupid mistakes, and this here was one of them. Just calm down, maybe take a bit to relax and such, there's no need to work yourself so hard like this." He said.

Big Mac reached the hospital to get Stephan checked, only to see Light streak sitting outside the building. He looked like he was suffering the same effects that Stephan was.

"Well, might as well have both of you fellers checked out." He picked up Light and walked into the hospital.

Grand was on the edge of completely freaking out on everyone but she took a deep breath and just continued working, though her foot was tapping a little too quickly. "No, Im fine Zeta, these guys need help. Radiation poison can easily kill if your exposed to it too much or if it stays in your system too long. Unfortunately thats all I know, so I'll probably have to look for a cure or something" She said with fake sweetness

Missy tried to step forward, shakily lifting her hoof off the ground and she moved it forward, she moved slowly towards the room where the others wwere.

"I don't know anything about radiation, not much, but I know the symptoms of this, it's Beta radiation, Gamma causes burns and loss of fur." Fire said.

Big Mac entered the room the others were in and he sat Stephan and Light down gently. 

"Found these fellers just lying down in the middle of town. They didn't look too good, so I brought 'em here." Big Mac said. He then looked over at Steel and Starburst. "Sheesh, Grand. Looks like ya have your work cut out for ya."

Grand twitched. "Yes Big Mac, Yes I do" She said, almost too nicely. "Now we have four of them. Lovely. I guess I'll be spending the night in the library looking for the cure to radiation poisoning. Its a good thing I enjoy reading" She said as she continued the basic detox of a poisoned pony

Missy appeared in the doorway of the room.

"Radiation Poisoning can kill within two days to two weeks, an effective cure is to clean your fur with hot water, it gets rid of radioactive materials." Missy began. "Another good solution is the use of Potassium Iodide. A simple detox shower does well too."

Steel woke up "hey guys what's going on"he said as he tried to stand but fell back into bed "and why am I so weak" steel said

Grand looked at Missy with relief before rushing over to help her walk. "You shouldnt be out of bed Missy" She said as she led her over to the other ponies. "Alright then. Lets get these colts washed down then" She said to Zeta as she placed Missy in a chair and walked to the storage room to grab some potassium Iodide

Starburst woke up, it wasn't slow.

"Why am I in here?" Starburst asked, he looked over at Missy. "Mum, why aren't you in your bed."

"Because, I felt I was needed here, my expertise on a lot of things might come in handy." Missy said, while being shuffled by Grand into a chair.

Stephan slowly awakened from being unconscious. His vision returned to him, but he felt quite weak.

"What the... what happened?" Stephan tried to get up to his hooves, but an instant spark of pain in his body stopped him from doing so, sending him falling back to the ground

Grand looked at Missy with relief before rushing over to help her walk. "You shouldnt be out of bed Missy" She said as she led her over to the other ponies. "Alright then. Lets get these colts washed down then" She said to Zeta as she placed Missy in a chair and walked to the storage room to grab some potassium Iodide

Zeta helped out in grabbing most of the liquid needed to wash down the ponies, picking them up and followed Grand out of the room. "Oh and uh, Grand. I heard Starburst and the others were hit so who is going first?"

Light Streak and Stephan have it the worst, they should go first" She said as she wheeled out one of them into a decontamination room. "Alright, lets get some warm water flowing and get washing" She said as she placed Stephan into the shower and turned on the warm water. She grabbed a clean washcloth and soaked it in the chemical before beginning to wash him down

Fire walked over to Missy.

"Are you alright to be out of bed? Especially with your injuries." Fire asked.

"I'll be fine. Really. Anyway, I'll be much more use to everypony in here." Missy replied and put her hoof on Fire's.

"So, what exactly is going on?" Starburst asked. "Nopony has told me a damn thing."

"No one's told me anything, either." Stephan said. "How did me and Light get here. Why are we in beds in the hospital? Why do I suddenly feel little to no sensation in my body?"

Light woke up in the bed next to Stephan's. He was about to speak, but Stephan stopped him. "Don't ask. I already did for both of us."

Grand looked at Stephan as she dunked the cloth in the chemical again. "You all got radiation poisoning because you thought blowing up a base with nuclear weapons was a great idea" She said as she scrubbed him. "and so now all of you are sick, and in my care until you get better"

Stephan raised his hoof. "Correction. I blew up the base with dynamite we threw into a nuclear reactor. There's a huge difference between blowing a place up with explosive weapons and nuclear weapons." A spark of pain went threw Stephan's raised hoof as he pulled it down quickly.

"yes, well either way, nuclear power was involved" She  said, trying to not freak out, so instead she just scrubbed harder. "was it really necassary to blow it up though? you couldnt just leave?" She asked, not really caring what his answer was. she dumped a bucket of water on him to rinse him off

Stephan shook his head.

"No, we couldn't, because if we just left the base there, the bandits would have a chance to regroup and come back for revenge. Blowing up the base ruined any chance of that happening." He said, drying the water off of his face. "In my opinion, I think we did Ponyville a huge favor.

Zeta didn't talk during the wash, getting around his underside and in a specific spot so Grand didnt exactly have to do it to get embarrassed. After she had rinsed him off, he handed Stephan a towel to dry off and smiled. "Well at least you're alive, you know?"
