"I'm sorry, Grand, I should've kept out of it." Starburst sat down. "I just want you to make the right choice."

 

Fire walked out, he probably had something wedding-related to put together, so he went out of the house and walked towards town, he noticed Caramel so he asked her.

"Hello, I guess you're my daughter-in-law now, so, is there anything you want me to do for the wedding?" Fire asked.

Grand sighed. "It seems there isnt a right choice anymore" she said quietly. "I need to go check on the theatre, I'm sure they need a bit of help over there" She said numbly, turning to walk in the direction of the theatre.

 

Caramel turned to see Fire and smiled. "Oh, hey Fire! I'm just looking at cakes right now, theres so many... Umm.. Oh! I wanted to ask you about Glint, do you think she would be okay to be our flower filly?" She asked excitedly

"Well, I don't know, she's only a week or so old, she's only just started walking small distances on her own." Fire said. "But I think she would be fine, that is if that's what you want."

 

Starburst just continued on his way to see Twilight, completely forgetting about Steel and his shenanigans.

"Oh! Well do you think we could get Sirius to be a flower girl too? She could help Glint, or even just carry her. That would just be adorable" Caramel said happily. "I'm going to have to pick out cute lil flower filly dresses... of course I still need to pick out my dress. And we need tuxedoes too. Planning a wedding takes alot of work" Cara sighed, but still smiling

"Seems like you've got it all planned out." Fire said, giving a small laugh. "I never imagined that I'd see my son getting married so soon, it seems so surreal, and what makes it even better is that he's getting married to somepony like you. Honest, not afraid to voice her opinion."

Cara smiled. "Yeah, we'll that's gotten me into more trouble than anything" she said happily. "But thanks for the compliment. Now let's see... I should probably go look at some bouquets and stuff, you can come if you want" she said with a smile. "It's not the funniest thing in the world but its gotta get done"

"Why certainly, unless there's something else you need done, in which case, I can do it." Fire said. "Your wish is my command." Fire bowed jokingly.

 

Starburst knocked on Twilight's door, she came to it, opening it cautiously.

"Oh, it's just you, thank goodness, I thought you were Steel again." Twilight said, slightly relieved.

"Nope, it's me." Starburst said, sticking out his tongue a bit. "Anyway, I need to speak to you about my wedding."

"Wait, you're getting married? That's great!" Twilight pulled him towards her and gave him a big hug. "So, what do you need?"

"I need you, to marry us." Starburst said.

Stephan opened his eye and stood up in front of Moon.

"Are you accusing me of not caring for their well-being?" Stephan asked in an angry tone. "I do everything in my power to make everypony happy. I fuck up sometimes, but I try my hardest. And right now, Zeta's pulling himself into a relationship that he probably doesn't know it's true. If a relationship isn't real, why have it?"

"I'm not accusing you, Stephan. But what you should watch would be the words you say to him. Yes it was a mistake, and it's not your fault but, it triggered something deep in him. I hope he's okay.." Moon replied, only being able to think where he is now. "When you say Zeta put himself in a relationship that he doesn't know it's true, he probably never knew it either, not till now at least. I will admit.. If things turn out okay, then it's going to be a positive on your part. So all we have to do now is take the risk and wait."

Stephan nodded and began walking out of the room.

"I don't know, Moon. I just need a moment to myself." Stephan stepped out of the house and went to the edge of town. He walked up to a hill and stared into the sunrise. The weather was cold, but it still felt like Hearth's Warming. A part of Stephan felt sorry for Zeta. He remembered him saying that Grand was all he had, and if he had nothing, he'd probably kill himself... what if he finally finished the job? Still, he wasn't going to support a lost cause.

Moon sighed and listened to Stephan leave the room, so she hopped up onto the bed and waited a bit. "This Hearth's Warming, is horrible.. For starters, I don't know what Zeta and Grand are doing now, they must of split up and him walk his own path.. Grand's probably saddened by this so I don't think she's in any mood to do anything, and now Stephan must be feeling bad too. If only this day could have the miracle it needs, then we could finally clean this mess and live happily..."

 

Meanwhile, Zeta had run off to an alleyway between buildings in Ponyville. It had lots of corners and such, which was suitable enough to hide in for now. So he took a seat down and leaned against the wall, before falling into a state of sobbing.

Stephan reached into his saddlebags and took out a small photo strip. It was a few pictures of himself and Zeta. He simply sighed and stared at each individual one for about two minutes. It's hard to think that these two are friends. At this point, Zeta probably won't even want to talk to the stallion. Same for Grand. At times, he just wished he could go back to the way things used to be. As in, before the outbreak. At that time, he was just a carefree stallion running to his next adventure. Now, he's grown to the ripe age of thirty and has a girlfriend and daughter. Soon, he's never gonna have time for any of this.

Starburst was walking along, Twilight had agreed to it, there was still lots of work to be done, but the wedding was sure to be wonderful.

He heard crying coming from an alleyway, he followed those sounds and it led him to a crying stallion.

"Hello? Are you okay in there?" Starburst asked.

Zeta heard the voice of Starburst, immediately shutting up before trying his best to sneak away. He was close, close, until he tripped over a can of something and fell out into the clear. "Mmn... Nnn, nnhnhn..... Just, go away Starburst, leave me here to rot away.."

"Zeta? No, I will not leave you here. It's about Grand isn't it? Look, Zeta, I know you know what it's like to lose somepony, I've never had that experience so I can't really relate." Starburst sighed. "You love her? You want something more than just being her friend? I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, but I'm telling you, if you really want her to be happy. Then you can't be with her."

Grell seen starburst and gave him a wide berth as he walked "can't have him messing this up for me "Grell muttered as he walked he was thinking about steel

Steel walked "maybe I should ask Missy but I doubt she will give up a pint of blood " steel said to himself

"Well then good for her if she'll be truly happy without me, she never needed me anyways.." He looked away from Starburst and lied down, covering his face. "Just leave me, we have nothing else to talk about.. I'm done, just, i'm not a part of anyone anymore, so i'm just gonna die like this.."

Stephan walked back from the hill to see Starburst talking to Zeta in an alleyway. When he got down there, he saw Zeta sobbing his eyes dry. Stephan sighed and walked up to Zeta. He was sick of his poor-me shit.

"Zeta, get up and stop bawling. You're better than this." He said, sounding serious.

Zeta heard Stephan and only thought about it being worse, so he stopped bawling, then looked up to Stephan. He still had a very sad and droopy face though, and his limbs began shaking "I, I know... But it's hard to, I can't, or.. I, I.." Then he punched the brick wall with his fist next to his friend, making a big indent of where it is. "Control, when i'm just, depressed, angry..."

"He's right, you have to stop moping and start being a big stallion about this, I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say we're quite sick of your attitude towards this." Starburst said. "Grand isn't the only mare in the universe! And no matter what, she'll always be your friend."

Stephan looked into the eyes of the brute stallion, looking very serious.

"Zeta, have you forgotten that you were once part of the Equestrian Army?" He asked. "You served by your comrades to protect Equestria. Ponies like you made sacrifices to protect our home. How exactly did it work out for you?"

Zeta just teared up a little more, his hoof bloody from punching the brick wall but he never flinched. "I, I don't care if she's not the only mare in the universe... I don't care anymore.. There can't be anything, anymore.. The Equestrian Army might of toughened me up on the outside, but, then... And, and... I.." 

 

The memories flooded back into his mind, just as quick as lightning. His eyes widened for a second before his teeth clenched, then they shrunk dearly.

 

"NOTHING, WORKED OUT FOR ME!!" He screamed the hell out of his lungs before grabbing Stephan and slammed him into the wall. Then proceeded to beat harshly on his body while he screamed out the same words with each punch.

 

(( And yes, the punches are bone cracking too ))

Starburst had to act quickly, he shot a stun spell at Zeta. It wasn't working, he kept on firing them one after the other, to no effect, he put all of his remaining magic into the last one, he had no idea what happened because he fell unconscious.

Stephan could hear his bones breaking from the shots. Zeta had broken both of his front legs, cracked his rib cage, and made a HUGE dent in his skull. He could feel himself bleeding internally and externally. If he didn't get help soon, he was going to die.
