"I do know what you mean, Hyperion." Luna said, watching the letter as it spun off towards Ponyville. "So, I think it's best you get back to your post Zeta, I will speak with you later. Until then." Luna saluted Zeta.

 

Missy sat in a bar, she was just sitting there.

"Missy? I never expected to see you in here." The bartender said.

"Well, I am, deal with it." Missy snapped.

"Alright, you're havin' issues, I'll just leave this drink here and leave ya to it." He replied.

Here's what the letter said:

"My dear companion, Zeta

I'm terribly sorry for everything that's happened. I know that sometimes I can come off as a jerk, but I just hope you know that I see you as a good friend. We're speed and strength, one of the ultimate combos of teams.

Please get out soon. Believe it or not, I wish you were back here to celebrate Hearth's Warming.

Zeta saluted Luna, taking the letter Steven had wrote him and looked at it first. He read it carefully and gave a little laugh. "Before I head to my post, I must write something down."

 

So he went back to the desk, pulling out one more paper before writing.

 

Stephan,

I'm actually laughing right now, because the Princess.. Princess Luna, that is, has removed me from prison. I will be taking time off from seeing all of you, because I have become her personal guard. If I can though, I will try convincing Luna to send me over for Hearth's Warming, but I can't guarantee it.

Also, thank you for thinking of me as your friend. What I did was not in my control, and i'm sorry for doing such to you like that. But we can not dwell on the past, as it has past and the present has arrived. Thank you anyways, it has made my heart warm enough to really say that you are my friend.

Zeta then rolled up the sheet and tied it up, letting it go out the balcony over to Grand's house where they all stayed. He gave a sigh, then hopped back up onto the roof to watch. "Friend's like you just cant let go can they..?"

 

Moon lied in bed still. This time though, there were some more tears, and much throw-up on the ground. She wasn't sick, but it was just... She thought about Missy, and how it's ruined their relationship. "Please... Please, Celestia, Luna.. Help her.."

Stephan left the house and rolled his way around town. After awhile, he saw Missy in the bar through a window. Hesitant, he opened up the bar door and rolled up to the mare.

"Ummm... Missy? How are you feeling?" He asked, dismounting from his chair and climbing to a stool.

"Oh just fucking peachy, thanks for asking." Missy snapped, knocking back a drink. "What are you doing here? Let me guess, you're here to make sure I hadn't killed myself? Who exactly do you think it is you're talking to right now? How pathetic do you believe I am?" Missy scoffed at Stephan and ordered another drink.

It seemed like Missy was taking it really hard. Stephan ordered a bottle of apple ale and continued.

"I'm talking to Missy Starlight, one of the strongest mares I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. I care for you, Missy. I just don't like seeing you taking things so harshly."

"Listen, my own husband has betrayed me, he has sided with Moon, it's quite clear where his loyalties lie, you lied to me, he doesn't love me, not one bit, and you, coming in here, telling me you care so damn much. Why did you lie to me?" Missy asked, just then Starburst appeared in the door.

 

"Oh great, come in son, come watch your good old mother have a freak-out." Missy snapped sarcastically, now half-drunk.
"Mum, calm down, we've just come to take you home, nothing more." Starburst said.

 

"You're one to talk, you and your perfect marriage with Little Miss Popcorn over there." Missy said, pointing to Caramel. "You don't know how it feels to be betrayed by the one you love, by the one you hold closest."

"Missy, I would never lie to you or anypony. You've always known me for being upfront with you and everypony else." Stephan said, taking a sip of his ale. This was the only bottle he was gonna have, mind you. "I never lied to you, Missy, and neither did Fire. It was an accident , he didn't mean for any of this to happen."

"And it's not just him either, it's that evil little slut of a mare, Moon Wave, she seduced my husband and encouraged him." Missy said. "So don't give me that crap about being upfront, you've all known all along that Fire never really loved me, nopony ever has, not even my parents. So why don't you all just take your perfect little lives and go fuck yourselves!" Missy downed another drink and tried throwing a glass at Stephan but missing completely.

Caramel was done. "Alright that's enough if your bullshit. It's time for some tough live. Guess what? Your husband got another mare knocked up, but let's not forget why. You were there too! You were right next to him the whole damn time, and you've done it before without him there! You have no right to freak out on him or anyone like that, let alone the ponies who care about you most, now get off your ass and stop wallowing in self pity" Caranel said angrily, grabbing Missy's drink and throwing it to the ground

"I'm not just gonna sit here and get talked down to by somepony like you, you savor the first few years, that's when it's all sunshine and rainbows, but they all stray, it's inevitable. You'll be left wondering why you ever married him." Missy walked out and slammed the door with her magic. "Pricks." Missy whispered to herself.

Stephan leaned in closer to the drunken mare.

"Perfect lives? Sure, my life is just about as perfect as that giant sea monster in the Everfree!" He exclaimed to her. "You know what, Missy? I care for you! In fact, everypony here does! Why don't you realize this??" He then heard Caramel take Missy's drink and throw it to the floor. A look of distress came across the face of the stallion.

Caramel was absolutely livid. She was just barely managing to control herself from kickng apart a table. "How dare she talk to us that way, I dont care what happened, shes got no right to treat us like that" She said angrily, stomping her hooves down hard, "What the hell is wrong with her?"

Stephan forcefully finished off his apple ale and threw it so hard into the recycling bin, it nearly shattered into pieces. He then lowered himself back into his chair and sighed.

"Worst. Hearth's Warming. Ever." Stephan said, beginning to leave the bar.

Missy's expression remained the same for a small amount of time, then she turned to Caramel and grabbed her throat with her magic.

"Nopony, speaks to me like that, not even you!" Missy snapped.

"Mum, snap out of it!" Starburst yelled. Missy was about to do strangle Caramel, but Starburst took one of the stools and smacked her over the head with it, even without magic, he still had hooves.

"Sorry, mum." Starburst said. Missy was now unconscious.

Caramel fell to the ground with a thud. She was shocked. "Starburst... I'm so sorry, I shouldnt have lost my temper like that." She said, standing up, a little wobbly. "Do you think she would have actually... tried to kill me?" She said quietly, her ears pinned back. "What happened to her?"

"I don't know anymore, she's certainly not in her right mind. Come on Caramel, let's get out of here." Starburst helped her up off the ground, then he noticed something about Missy.

"Wait, she hasn't...." Starburst observed her coat and mane colors. "She's Discorded." Starburst concluded.

Stephan kept going back towards his house, but stopped in front of Caramel and Starburst and looked down at the unconscious Missy.

"You know what... I don't care anymore. Everytime I try to help anypony, it always ends in anger and misery..." Stephan's color began to drain away. "If she doesn't want assistance... then so be it..."

"Discorded? That droconeques (I dont know) Twilight and everyone fought off? Wasnt he reformed? why would he be here, and how would he even cause this?" She said, hoping Missy wasnt hurt too bad by Starburst. "That doesnt make any sense" She said,very confused

Starburst got up and looked at Stephan as he left.

"No, no, this is bad. This is very bad!" Starburst said. "Discord isn't needed for a pony to become Discorded, Discorded is a state of being, where your entire being is chaotic, you become a reverse of yourself." Starburst turned to Missy. "Telltale signs are a drained color of coat and mane."

Caramel watched Stephan walked away. "So... why now? Why now when so much else has happened?" She asked, looking at him worriedly. "If this pattern keeps up it wont be long until... Oh no." She said, looking back to the direction of their house. "The ways Grands been going on lately,its only a matter of time" She said, looking panicked."we need to stop this! Before it happens to us"

Stephan entered back inside the house and lied down on the couch, and he wouldn't leave the seat for any reason at all. He couldn't work up the nerve to help out Starburst, Caramel, or Missy in the situation. His whole personality was reversed. He was no longer the caring stallion he once was. He had absolutely zero care for anything in the world. Not even for himself.

Moon heard Stephan come inside and stepped out of bed, throw-up still on the floor. As sick as she felt, she cleaned up the mess before heading downstairs and called out to him. "Hello? Stephan baby, is that you? Where are you, can you give a little shout out?"

Stephan sighed and raised himself up.

"I'm right here, Missy. I'm in the living room, resting." Stephan then lowered himself back down onto the couch. He felt absolutely ashamed of himself for doing that... but he didn't know why. Moon was his friend. Why would he think such things?

"Oh, there you are. And i'm not Missy dear, i'm Moon." She walked over to him and gave him a little hug, before turning to cough. "Where has everypony been? Missy isn't back, I don't remember where Grand is, and I haven't heard much about Starburst and Caramel."
