"We actually could use some assistance, too. Our spacecraft, the Unity, crashed a few days ago. We're looking for the missing ponies of the spacecraft so we can bring them back to base. We're trying to rebuild the ship so we can get back to Equestria. If we can't rebuild the Unity, we could at least make a bunch of smaller ships."

Dr. Little spoke up "Rebuilding a spaceship? I could help with that!"

 

"Hang on doc" Punch interrupted "We could make a deal here. One of our buddies got captured recently by some other ponies. They attacked us yesterday and took him. About an hour ago we found out where those bastards live, just a few miles down South. If you could get him back to us, we'll help you out"

Blast clicked his back hooves. "Heh. No problem. We'll get him back in a flash." Blast grabbed Peppermint and made sure he was holding on tight before going. "We'll be back. Stay right there." Blast jetted off to the south. In a bit, he came across a steel shack and screeched to a stop.

Peppermint looked at the shack and saw smoke coming from behind. He grabbed Blast and took them both behind a rock. They both peeked over it and saw a group of 5 ponies near a campfire with meat roasting above it.

 

"Hmm, they don't look aggressive" Peppermint said, his eyes then suddenly widened "Oh my Celestia..."

 

Leo was laying over where the ponies were, but his left hind leg was missing, there was only a bandaged stump. He was unconscious but still breathing. On the spit roast above the fire, was Leo's leg.

 

"How did he even...? Ah boy. We can't take them head on. What do you want to do? We could try negotiating"

"Oh my... Sweet Luna. They're cannibals. Never thought I'd see ponies like that out here." He lowered his head to the back of the rock again. "I don't think a pep talk will keep them from eating our legs, too. But, yeah. Taking them head on is probably not the best plan. We need to take them out, silently and quickly. I can do it quickly, but I don't know about silently."

"Quick would be good, but once they realize they're being attacked, they might kill Leo" Peppermint paused for thought "We don't have any weapons on us at the moment, and even if we asked corporal Punch to help us attack them, we can expect casualties"

 

Peppermint looked through his datapad "We're not even sure if these guys enjoy being cannibals. If we offer a trade of food for them, we could be making all parties happy here. It's a longshot but what do you think?"

"Maybe. What do we have?" Blast checked his pockets and saddlebags for something. "All I have are these apples and mangoes. I also have a few water canteens," He put them on the ground. "Do you have anything to trade?"

"I got some oats... However, I could arrange a trade agreement with these guys" Peppermint pulled his pistol out of his saddlebag and kept it close to his side "Better be prepared though..."

 

He looked over the rock again, the group of ponies started to eat.

 

"Okay, you ready?

Blast felt sick to his stomach watching a group of ponies eating a fellow stallion. He gulped and gave up his fruit and water. "I'll go with you. Let's get this done." Blast got out from behind the rock and went with Peppermint.

Could I make a surprise appearance with Shining Midnight? My RP has seemed to die out and I need something to do

I'll probably we walking along searching for any sign of other ponies or something. I wouldn't get captured, I'd be kind of far away from the shack, but what if you two spotted me walking and one of you came and got me and asked me for help? That'd be cool )

The duo walked up to the group. One of the ponies alerted the others, and they all armed themselves with melee weapons.

 

"Woah, woah... I don't think they came here to fight" Their leader, a black unicorn, said "I might assume that you ponies are here to talk?"

 "Yes, we are. You see the stallion over there?" Blast points to the unconscious Leo. "We know him, and we really need him back at the Marines Base. So we're willing to make a trade. If you give us the stallion back, we'll trade you all the food we have in our saddlebags." Blast awaited his answer.

The unicorn looks at the saddlebags and then back at the other ponies.

"That doesn't look like a large amount of food..."

 

"Adam, I think they mentioned the Marines!"

 

"Quiet" He said "I'm sorry you have to see us like this. At an all time low. I'm pretty sure you must think we're monsters for doing this... to your friend"

Blast lowered his head and spoke is soft tone. "What's done is done, I guess. I'll have to have Light Streak build him a replacement leg once we get back to Equestria. If you just lower your guns and give the stallion, we'll give you everything we have. Maybe take you to a safer place, too?"

"A safe place? An interesting proposal" Adam stroked his chin "Considering the fact you haven't shot at us. I am inclined to believe you. However, I'll need more than this before we go with the idea"

 

Adam signaled for his group to hand over Leo.

 

"We'll let you take him on good faith of our friendship. Now I must ask, what is this place of yours like?"

Shining Midnight is walking through this rough terrain when he overhears a conversation about Marines. He looks around and spots a shack with a group of ponies with guns passing over a pony with a missing leg, over to two other ponies who seem like they could be allies. Shining decides to walk towards them, but cautiously. (OOC: Shining is a few kilometers away so it'll take a minute or two RP-time to get there.)

Adam quickly turns to his group and they mutter amongst themselves.

 

"If you're rebuilding ships... then that must mean you've got food. Heck, we'll go with you straight away!"

 

Peppermint turned to Blast "I'm surprised they came around so quickly, I hope this doesn't interfere with Corporal Punch..."

Blast trotted to Leo and put him over his back. "Don't worry, pal. We'll get you back to base safely." He began walking back to the metal shack where the other group of ponies were with the group. He went in with group. "Is this the stallion you were looking for?"

Corporal Punch looks at Leo "Nope, never seen that guy in our lives. What happened to his leg?"

 

Suddenly Adam and his group appear from behind "You don't need to know-"

 

Punch and his group quickly pulled out their guns and took aim, Adam's group retaliated with the same move.

 

"What the hell are they doing here?" Burns screamed

 

"Everypony calm down!" Peppermint shouted, he had his pistol out but it wasn't aimed at either group

Blast was beginning to get annoyed. "Can we please go one encounter without someone getting shot?? I just witnessed a mare getting shot in the head and a stallion's leg cut off! I don't need to see any more!" Blast shouted. He was breathing hard. "I'm... I'm sorry."

Shining Midnight saw what was going on, and  decided it was time to intervene. He teleported over to the groups of ponies and used his magic to disarm the guns. "Woah woah woah! What's going on here?! Can't we all be civilized ponies and just talk this out? I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation for any problems there are, or any unresolved disputes that can now be resolved. And I over heard that a couple of you were Marines? I was a scientist from the University of Alexandria, a segment of a very large ship that had broken apart and crashed here a few weeks ago. My name is Shining Midnight and am skilled in a lot of things, including diplomacy. Now, put away the guns before I take them away, and we may talk."

All the guns flew from everypony's grip and hovered into the air. Adam put his hoofs up to show he wasn't a threat, Corporal Punch however reacted differently.

 

"The hell-? There is no need to talk! These guys attacked us and killed one of our friends!" Punch pointed at Adam and his group

 

"We ate your friend I'm afraid. We only did it because we ran out of food" Adam back away slightly "But I'm open to the talking idea"

 Blast walked up to the unicorn and shook his hoof. "I'm Blasted Nova, but you can call me Blast. We could use help from a scientist in times like these."
