Don't really dislike it, except maybe that you'll need to collect the cards and that will be expensive. 

Seems like luck and not skill deciding over win lose, if my opponent spent more and got better cards.

But they just don't interest me very much. 

I bet if someone wanted to play with me i could get into it though.

Ah, similar opinion to my wife, she never wanted to spend the money on MTG.

So when we do play, we play with a limited card pool just using preconstructed decks ...rather than jumping both feet first down the rabbit hole as I did ...and am still falling

Generally true statement, the biggest wallet gets the best cards, but the luck side of things can help balance things out.

Something like Magic 2015 has a limited card pool and all cards can be obtained by playing the game (to speed things up, cards can be purchased) and can be played against the AI or real people - random or direct
