FoxyCryptid 4,330 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 So, I want to root this thing(it's a cheap tablet), but I can't figure how to plug it in because I don't know what kind of USB cable it takes(and I've asked several stores) It's the one on the left, the right on is mini HDMI. It's similar to a standard smart phone cord but much bulkier. "You know, I don't know who or what you are Methos, and I know you don't want to hear this, but you did teach me something. King 5,625 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 (edited) What model is the tablet if I may ask? Knowing that may help in finding out the answer...also if you still have the instruction manual that can help lol. caramba2654 602 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 I think it's the Mini-USB? The Micro-USB is too slim, and I can't think of another USB. I reckon that design was very used with some old cellphones, but got replaced by the Micro-USB. I won't be a complete brony until I get a Thunderlane plushie and go to a convention. It can't be to cheap-ass because I got it from a Radioshack, so I assume it's got some level of build quality to it, even if it's not the best. The model number seems to be LT7052 1 "You know, I don't know who or what you are Methos, and I know you don't want to hear this, but you did teach me something. King 5,625 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 I guess you have your answer, it should indeed be a mini USB port. Shouldnt be too hard to find/get the cord for it...hopefully. Good luck with it anyway Goddamn right, you should be scared of me Twitter
Abstract 832 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 Almost looks like a UC-E6 (not USB, in other words) plug. Very similar looking to Mini-USB, but it is a proprietary design that is not compatible. I have a crapton of various cords around here but none of them fit. "You know, I don't know who or what you are Methos, and I know you don't want to hear this, but you did teach me something. -BleachedOne- 233 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 (edited) IIRC, that's a USB Mini-B four pin variant connector. They use that on special hardware, like tablets and cameras, as an alternative to the ones you see on smartphones. I could be wrong, however. long gone 8,929 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 Doesn't really look like a microUSB port. My tablet has a microUSB port and it doesn't look anything like that. It seems to have decent specs but unstable software. That's why I'm trying to root(I found the instructions, but I have no way of hooking it up) "You know, I don't know who or what you are Methos, and I know you don't want to hear this, but you did teach me something.
