My stupid OC (give her a name!)

Not sure if this should be posted here, if so, I have no problem with it being moved

 

So, hey guys. I made a crappy OC on the pony avatar creator:

And this one

 

I don't have a name yet. For now I just called her Pendulum Lotus, but that name sucks, so could anyone come up with a proper name? Oh yeah, and tell me what you think

I don't know what her cutie mark is, so...I don't know exactly what she does. It would be best to describe the cutie mark since it's not visible due to the wings.

I personally think that she's colored way too dark. MLP: FiM characters are usually pastel-colored. The darker colors are for the colts and stuff. 

 

 

But, if you want to go with brown as a coat color, I suggest you use other mane colors. The blue and red together don't look too good :/

 

As for a name, it's best to figure out her special talent first 'cause names are usually based off that.

The only problem is that cutie marks aren't implemented yet in this oc creator yet. Now I need to figure something out. Well, something with music. Probably along the lines of drum and bass.

i might be able to come up with a name if you give a little info, with just an image you don't have much to go on for a name, give us a cutie mark and a bit of info and you will get lots of names.

"Cyanic Blast", If your changing the colors change the bluer to cyan and then make the brown lighter.

 

to be honest the Blast is interchangeable with a better term for music or something

No, no that's fine. It helps me improve a lot, and on the long end, I do agree. I remade her (she doesn't look that similiar anymore), but I think she looks way better now.

 

I'll just re-use this post, because I don't want to spam the page with my overly-long posts.

Anyways, new OC:

Just so you all know, I changed plans. She just loves DnB, she doesn't actually make it. Instead, she is a fast flier. She loves flying, and, while obviously not as fast as RD or Lightning Dust, she is capable of some pretty impressive speeds. Her cutie mark would have to do with the air or speed, probably. Something like this:

It does look better, but I've seen that coloring quite often. If she's a swift flyer, you could try making her sky-colored. Maybe dawn colored or something like that. The eye color on the new one is not really nice, that particular shade of green...

I remade the post. It's the older one, so I didn't have to make up more space. Also, you're right. Why do you know so much about how to make OC's?

I read a lot of guides on how to make a good OC while making my own. It just stuck with me.

What I actually tried to do was make her skin blue, her eyes yellow, and her mane red, so there is more variety in the colors. I do agree the eyes could've been a lot better, but on this Pony Creator the background is standard black, and eyes look better there than here. Just the eye coloring kind of sucks imo. IMO, the mane is fine though. I like it like that and I'll keep it like that, I think. The eyes are, for me, the only things I don't like, but I'm going to ask an artist to make my OC, and I'll ask for a better eye color scheme, probably something close to blue.

I think the original colors looked more unique, though the colors in the new mane/tail go better together. Maybe there's a middle ground?

(Since writing that, you changed the colors again, and I'd say improved on both accounts!)

 

As for names, maybe, ehhm... Sonic Flame? It sort of ties speed with music, and her mane color. Um, maybe. c:

They are all pretty similar, just with slightly different variations.

 

 

 

 

This coloring is somewhat common, I've seen different variations of it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You could try mixing them up and stuff if you want.

I know, but I don't really like that pony creator. The one I used is actually a different versions, and IMO, the OC's do look nicer on the avatar creator than they do on Zoi's version, but since the avatar creator isn't full version yet, you can't import cutie marks afaik. Might make a PC version for the CM, though.

Let's all agree that I'm bad with OC names. What I usually do is find a list of human names and pick one that fits the character. The last name is inspired by the cutie mark, but also infused with a last name. An example is my OC name, Avery Quillstrum.

 

Also, @, a mention isn't that hard. It's just [ member=InsertExactUsernameHere ]

You both did make up pretty nice names. Even if the names would've been absolutely TERRIBLE, it would've still been better then mine. Because, well, I can think of nothing.

yup, I've seen them. They look pretty nice IMO, and their coat's colour look awesome! I personally like the 1st and 2nd one best, the mane colours of the third one don't look that great imo.
