World of Warships

So, as some of the users on this forum already know, the makers of World of Tanks are currently in the works developing World of Warships, which will feature the same mechanics of World of Tanks, but with warships and much larger maps.

If you're not yet aware of the massively popular World of Tanks and the War Gaming company, they make MMO's based upon historically accurate vehicles. They are pretty popular, and have developed World of Tanks which is just an outstanding game as far as visuals and playability.

Anyways, World of Warships is currently in it's pre-alpha stages and should be entering Closed-Alpha testing in a few months, followed up with Open-Alpha testing. And I've been seeing a lot of hype in game about it.

What do you think? Is wargaming just gonna be beating the dead horse, or do you think they have something that will become just as popular as their Tanks?

I'm actually kind of excited for it, should be pretty neat. I'm more excited for the World Domination ladder, which will be configured to tally all of their games together and see which nation is in the most control based off of wins. Should be a pretty sweet feature.

Very much so. I've been playing World of Tanks for some time now. From what I've heard, World of Warplanes is atrocious and I don't care to try it, especially since I think War Thunder does aerial combat pretty well. Naval combat is my thing though. I love it. I currently know nothing about the game besides a few screenshots I've seen on their site. Maybe they're beating a dead horse, maybe not, but I won't be able to resist giving it a try.
