Swick (ded) 436 August 26, 2013 Share August 26, 2013 Let me apologize for creating an unnecessary topic, but I didn't exactly have a choice. Due to whatever is causing my problem, I can't create support tickets. The problem is that whenever there is an 'https://' on MLPForums instead of 'http://', I get an SSL error on Chrome. It doesn't work with other browsers, either. This is causing a few different issues. As I just discovered, I can't send support tickets. Second, since the banners are hosted on a 'https://' URL, the banners aren't displaying, which causes this: http://imagesup.net/?di=1113774825219 I have to change the theme to be able to view my messages and notifications. None of this has ever happened before the server migration last week, so I assume something was changed during that time. Some help would be great! Hey you! Hey! Do you have Flash? Harmonic Revelations 8,835 August 26, 2013 Share August 26, 2013 Try clearing your cache and get back to us, that might end up helping. I'm not having this issue so it must be something on your end.
Swick (ded) 436 August 26, 2013 Author Share August 26, 2013 Nope, I've tried clearing the cache on each browser. I've cleared all history, cookies, etc. I'm not sure why it's doing this. 1 Hey you! Harmonic Revelations 8,835 August 26, 2013 Share August 26, 2013 (edited) Nope, I've tried clearing the cache on each browser. I've cleared all history, cookies, etc. I'm not sure why it's doing this. Here are some possible solutions. 1.) Make sure that your Firewall is not set up incorrectly, it may be blocking some of the resources MLP Forums relies on. This solution (Number 2) is most likely to solve your problem, HTTPS URLs are bound to certain ports (Unlike HTTP, which automatically binds to port 80) and may not function correctly if Port Forwarding is disabled. This is most likely the case, as your screenshot looks like what the forums look like if they've just loaded up (Only noticeable if you have a slow internet connection). 2.) Check your router settings for anything unusual, for example, If Port Forwarding is disabled, enable it. This should solve your problems. 3.) Scan for Malware, it's possible that Malware could interfere with your internet connection, or otherwise mess with your web browsers. See if any of those help, although solution 2 is probably what you're looking for. Edited August 26, 2013 by Jacob Danik
Founder Twilight Sparkle ✨ 8,527 August 28, 2013 Founder Share August 28, 2013 It's really odd that you're seeing issues with HTTPS on one theme and not another. Themes should not be tied to HTTPS... then again, this being IP.Board, anything's possible. Swick, when the SSL error comes up, please take a screenshot of the exact error and post it here. There are several different types of SSL errors, caused by different issues. 2 Avatar credit: robinrain8 Signature credit: Kyoshi

This is the SSL error that comes up when I go to Help > Contact MLPForums. http://imagesup.net/?di=3137774926113 Also, I don't think the theme affects the HTTPS. The only reason the IP.Board theme works is because it doesn't have a banner hosted on an HTTPS url, I think. Hey you! Hey! Do you have Flash? Wanna animate ponies? Sky Warden 2,243 August 29, 2013 Share August 29, 2013 Anu, Swick, check your computer's date and time settings. It has something to do with certificate, expiration, and stuff. It often happened to my old machine. The CMOS battery got tired and complained to me by messing around with my BIOS setting (including the date setting). It was Windows XP, and you know how 'good' it is. Never happened on my Ubuntu. Linux is simply great. If it still can't fix the problem, then I need some more information about your system to troubleshoot this thing. 1 Pinkeh asked me to put this here. Just another What Do You Think About Me stuff. SCS 7,537 September 2, 2013 Share September 2, 2013 This topic concerns a technical or general issue that is better suited for an admin to handle, due to its' complicated or private nature. It is thus better suited as a Support Ticket. This is an automatically generated message, by the way.
