Blaze nodded and continued walking. "Yea I guess it sounds a little gruff. But that's not why I asked. Just felt a little guilty all of a sudden that I may have interrupted something. It's fine now though."  Blaze looked around briefly and craned his head back again towards Pelate. "I think we're fairly close."

Chemm was still cowering at the prospect of having to go up the long elevator into Las Pegasus. She even forgot about the casinos that were up there because of her fear of heights. Erlen continually pleaded with her to calm down and to face her fears, but to no avail. All she could do was cling onto Erlen's back hoof, continually begging him not to go. The other ponies began to look with a snicker and a glare at Chemm and Erlen as she continually cried out to Erlen,

 

"Erlen!! You're not making me go up there! I just can't! I'll fall from the clouds and you won't have somepony by your side! Erlen please!! You can't make me go! I don't want to die!"

 

"Chemm... Please... you won't die... all the other ponies are going up just fine and you don't see them falling from the clouds. And even if Las Pegasus had cloud borders, I'll bet the ponies up there will make sure you'll be just fine. Chemm... I want you to enjoy Las Pegasus too. Don't let your fear overshadow you. If you want, I can hold you tight and close your eyes if you don't want to see the world below." Chemm continued to cry, but something about Erlen's words calmed her. Maybe it was also because Erlen was placing his head on top of hers and nuzzling her yellow mane. Either way, Chemm was feeling better after her tirade. When the other ponies continued to stare, Chemm looked up and instantly blushed with a cheekish smile. She didn't realize she made THAT big of a ruckus... Chemm gave Erlen a warm kiss while still sniffling. She then replied with a smile,

 

"E-E-Erlen... I'm... I'm still scared... but... I'll... I'll go because I know you're with me. Thanks."

 

With that, a relieved Erlen and a nervous Chemm were now trotting towards the large elevator that would ascend them to the posh and glamour of Las Pegasus...

"...and of course all the cheap hotels are already packed with ponies like they are dried flowerstacks in a can. Things just can't be all that easy, isn't it?"

 

Yoyo was walking alone on the road leading to the cloud pillar. She had been trying to find to find an affordable lodging for her stay in the Las Pegasus, but so far all the economy-class rooms were already occupied. There were indeed some rooms available, but her budget simply wouldn't allow her to. The snide comments from the last three receptionist had left her slightly bitter. Dejected, now the mare simply decided to check out her luck at the main districts above. Maybe there would be some hotels that didn't charge five figures for a seven day stay. She mumbled some words under her breath.

 

She took a glance at the cloud pillar. Her eyes tried to follow it all the way up there, but the only thing she got was a nasty case of vertigo. She wobbled to a nearby bench.

 

"Erlen!! You're not making me go up there! I just can't! I'll fall from the clouds and you won't have somepony by your side! Erlen please!! You can't make me go! I don't want to die!"

 

Yoyo perked her ears up. Just a few meters from her, a yellow mare was clinging for dear life to her coltfriend. Yoyo chuckled inwardly when the stallion convinced the mare that everything would turn out okay. It wasn't exactly unusual for non-pegasi to get all squeamish at the prospect of touching the cloud. Yoyo looked around her and to the pair. Maybe she could tag along with them?

Yoyo trotted along the pair as they made their way to the cloud pillar. She gave them the friendliest smile she could muster. "Hello there! I overheard that you two are going up there, mind if I tag along?" she asked, hopeful. "Ah, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Yoyo, nice to meet you!"

Erlen and Chemm were still approaching the elevator that would take them into Las Pegasus. Both ponies then noticed a young mare walking towards them. She gave them a friendly wave and then asked if she could tag along. Chemm and Erlen looked at each other for a moment and nodded. Erlen then replied with a warm smile,

 

"Sure you can come along! We're tourists. We're from Manehattan, so we know very little about Las Pegasus other than the different places we can travel to. Do you know of any good restaurants around here? We're starving!" Chemm then spoke, clearly forgetting about her fear of heights. She thought Yoyo looked so cute... Her minty coloured mane that was tied so wonderfully with her cute little bow... 

 

"Aww dear you look so cute! Sure you can come along! And we're starving!"

Yoyo blushed slightly when the mare praised her looks. At times like these she was grateful that her coat was more than capable of covering it. She giggled. "Um, thanks. You two are from Manehattan? I'm from Manehattan too! I just arrived on a train about an hour ago." Yoyo replied, now a bit excited. If they were also from her hometown, she hoped that they would be less likely to leave her alone.

 

She looked around for any restaurants. There was one not too far away from their location, and it didn't look like it would drown her in debt. "There is a restaurant there. It looked good enough. Want to give that place a try?" she pointed a hoof to the restaurant.

Golden Dawn gave a sigh, having been dragged to Las Pagasus by his friend Raven Feather, a mare always know for being for willing to get wild and have fun when the stallion felt she should be serious. Her ability to stay in the royal guard was testament of her skill, for so as a Lunar Guard. Many of the guard wondered how they were even friends as solar and lunar guard were well know for having a rivalry of sorts... if a friendly one but still.

 

Golden Dawn was an serious, if good-natured, pony and he was friends with Raven more because she could always make him smile... if also annoy and infuriate him at times. Raven laugh as she saw her friends face and says with a grin, "Oh come on Goldy, loosen up. You honestly thought I would let you stick around Canterlot on our week off? I was given orders to make sure you did not stick around trying to get more hours... and where better to go then the most party fun city in Equestria."

 

They walked over the clouds of upper Las Pegasus, having already made it in despite the long lines as Raven have them use a 'short cut' as she called it. Golden on the other hoof felt she had simply used her sneaking skills to get around having to go through the main entrance into the city. Admittingly it helped they were both pegasus but still. Giving an annoyed sigh he says, "okay, okay so what will you be having me do first Raven?"

 

"Well we could go to one of the night clubs, or find a casino to blow our money on, or perhaps find... 'other' places for fun," Raven suggested, winking at the last one before laughing at the expression Golden gave her, "or we could see one of the shows they have. I hear there are two magicians with a white tiger that are impressive."

 

Golden shook his head, a chuckle excaping his lips, "fine..."

(Umm we're at the cloud sections now? I didn't get Chemm and Erlen to go up the elevator yet...)

 

Chemm and Erlen were surprised at Yoyo. She looked so young... and she seemingly arrived at Las Pegasus on her own? They were amazed to say the least. What was intriguing was that Yoyo looked so bubbly and so carefree... When she found a restaurant for them to eat lunch, the couple was delighted. They gave Yoyo a nod and Erlen replied,

 

"Well Yoyo. I wouldn't mind giving any place a try at this point. I don't know much of Las Pegasus at all like I said before. Let's try that one if you want! It looks good!"

 

Chemm nodded in happy agreement, although still nervous about going up the elevator... It was a long way up... and they were still on the ground... Chemm still had to face her fears... She quickly clung tight to Erlen's body, clearly worried about the heights....

The train started slowing down so she picked up her bag and waited for the door to open. Azura got off the train and noticed that she was actually quite hungry. She looked around and saw a bakery so she went over and bought herself a blueberry pastry. She sat on one of the benches outside the station and started eating.

"Well Yoyo. I wouldn't mind giving any place a try at this point. I don't know much of Las Pegasus at all like I said before. Let's try that one if you want! It looks good!"

 

Yoyo flashed an eager smile. "Alright, it settled then!" She was about to trot to the restaurant, but her hooves stopped when she saw the mare quickly latched herself onto her boyfriend. Yoyo looked a bit sad for a moment. Was there something bad happened to the mare involving great height? Nevertheless, they couldn't go on with the mare being so shaky. She moved closer and gave the mare a slight pat to the shoulder. "Take it easy. I'm sure there are a lot of pegasi standing guard around the cloud pillar just in case the worst happened. Place like this wouldn't let anything bad happen to you. That would be a publicity disaster," she explained. "Besides, that cloud over us boasts exactly zero casualties! They must be doing something great to keep everypony on their hooves there."

 

After she was done talking, Yoyo moved away for a bit to give back the mare's personal space. She gave out a small laugh to show that everything was gonna be just fine. "Ah... I can you tell me your names again? I guess I forgot," she said with an uneasy smile. Sometimes she missed a lot of details from around her.

She sat on one of the benches outside the station and started eating.

 

Starshine snapped out of his reverie when somepony sat on the bench. The pony looked young enough, maybe about a couple of years older than him. Starshine looked at the you mare, who was eating a pastry in bliss. She didn't have any cutie mark. That was rather unusual, considering that she was larger than the colt who shared the bench with her. Maybe she's a late bloomer, Starshine mused inwardly.

 

Starshine waited until the young mare finished her meal before trying to start a conversation. "Hello there. Here on a vacation?" he called to her.

Azura swallowed the last bite and looked at him. "I guess you could say that.. What about you?" She said in a friendly way with a smile on her face. She didn't expect anypony to talk to her, especially right after she got off the train, but it's always nice to talk to strangers. Who knows, they might just become your friend.

Starshine smiled curtly in return. "Well, you can say I'm here to visit a friend of mine," he chuckled. "This city changed a damn lot. This area wasn't here the last time I visited. That's like... four months ago." Four years, he subconsciously corrected himself, but he kept it shut. It was nice to have somepony to talk to, but there was no need to tell the truth at all times. Absentmindedly he scratched his midsection, the saddlebag's belt was getting itchy. "Anyway, my name's Starshine, from Baltimare. How about you?" he asked.

Azura has never actually been to Las Pegasus, so she doesn't quite know how different it is. "I'm Azura from Ponyville. So are you waiting for your friend at the train station?" She had no idea where to stay, but maybe he could help me out. "Hey Starshine, do you know where I could stay in Las Pegasus? I've never been here before.."

"A place to stay? I suppose... I can help you wit that," Starshine replied, idly scratching his chin. Since he had nothing left to do until tomorrow, he thought might as well help somepony. There was nothing to lose, after all. He jumped off the bench and motioned Azura to follow him. "Come with me. There is a nice, big inn just around that corner. Not too far from the elevator, excellent rooms, but a lot cheaper than any other places. Just don't buy any souvenirs sold inside, though," he added the last part in a shushed whisper.

 

Starshine trotted to the aforementioned direction, believing that Azura would trot up with him. He paused for a bit when he went by a small shop. "If you want to, you can eat here. Clean food, not the cheapest but at least you won't get sick or starving," he commented. After a few more trotting, Starshine turned around a corner and stopped in front of a yellow building. A couple of receptionists could be seen waiting behind the doors. "Here we go. You can reach the elevator just by going around this building and follow the biggest road, can't miss it."

Azura walked beside Starshine as he showed her around the place. He stopped and gave her directions to the inn but she didn't want him to leave. "Urmm.. Do you mind if we hang around a bit longer? I don't want to be all alone.."

Chemm was still scared. She held on to Erlen for dear life as Erlen trudged with difficulty to the elevator. Erlen didn't like the extra weight on him, but it was for Chemm, and he did want to enjoy a wonderful holiday with her. Plus, he knew there would be much pleasure knowing that Chemm faced one of the fears that he had never heard of in her. It allowed him to be assertive for once, especially since Chemm was often assertive towards him in medical school. It wasn't meant to be a sign of cruelty from Erlen; just some payback was all. He spoke with a chuckle at Chemm as they arrived at the elevator,

 

"Now Chemm. We're at the elevator that takes us to Las Pegasus. Don't worry. You won't die. Think of the countless unicorns and Earth ponies who visit. Did they ever die? Nope. Now get your hooves up and get on the elevator." Chemm didn't like the chuckle Erlen was giving towards her. She was really scared! Didn't Erlen see that? Yoyo's pat on her was somewhat comforting, but she was still frightened. Yes it was true that Erlen was there, but she didn't like Erlen chuckling at her. She replied with frustration and a slight whine,

 

"Erlen! Stop laughing at me! I'm scared of heights and you know it! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be going up in the first place! Now quit laughing at me!" Erlen was still laughing inside as he began to walk into the elevator with Chemm still holding onto Erlen's back hoof. The other ponies began to look at Chemm with an awkward look once again, but she didn't care. She was afraid of heights. She didn't want to explain it to anypony... not even Erlen.

Starshine was silent for a moment. He was rather confused, why would Azura want him to hang around for a bit longer? He looked around for a bit to ensure that, yes, the neighborhood didn't look scary. There shouldn't be any muggers or pickpockets around the inn. "Uh, sure. I guess I can hang around for a while. What do you have in mind?" he asked. He never really spend much time around ponies his age.

"It's gonna be okay!" Yoyo walked along with Chemm and Erlen into the elevator. She deliberately stood at Chemm's side to at least partially spare the mare from the leering eyes of other passengers. The unicorn attendees in the elevator started talking about some security measures and chanted the cloudwalking spells on the passengers, but all that was lost to Yoyo. She was going to walk on the clouds! She giggled excitedly.

 

As the elevator crept upward, Yoyo found herself more and more restless. By the time the elevator reached halfway to the cloud, she pressed herself close to the floor as humanly as possible. Her hooves tried to purchase a better grip, but found none. Another passenger tried to offer a reassuring smile, but it didn't really help at all. Yoyo whimpered. She slid closer to Chemm. "At least we are scared together..."

Chemm could see that Yoyo was trying to give her comfort. As they went up the silver elevator that propelled them into the booming city that was Las Pegasus, Chemm continually held on the Erlen's hoof all the tighter. By the time the elevator reached halfway across to the top, Chemm whispered to Erlen with a squeak,

 

"Erlen... I'm scared... Don't let me go ok?"

 

"Chemmy... I was only joking that moment ago. Of course I won't let you go. I love you." Erlen then gave Chemm a reassuring kiss on her forehead as the elevator continued to whirl upward. Erlen then pointed at Yoyo and gave Chemm a chuckle as well,

 

"Looks like our new friend is also scared. You're not the only scared one Chemmy." Chemm smiled warmly at Yoyo. She definitely looked scared. Her fear was still there, but knowing that she wasn't the only one scared comforted her.

Azura blushed a little and replied Starshine. "Maybe you could show me around, have some fun at a local amusement park and if you don't mind, we could have dinner together.." She looked at him with puppy eyes, hoping he would promise her to do everything she said.

Starshine was taken aback when Azura looked at him expectantly. No, it was more like the young mare was trying to browbeat him into... going around and enjoy the city with her? This wasn't something he was used to be seeing. Stared down by a stallion demanding his loots, that he could handle. But this? Slowly his stance leaned back, away from Azura's wide eyes. What was it that she wanted from him?

 

She's kinda cute, you know.

 

"No!" Starshine blurted out. He quickly shook his head and waved his forehooves around. "I mean, yes! Uh, no no, not like that. Yes, I can take you around the city and maybe to the local theme park or something like that, but dinner is something else entirely. I'm don't have any bits on me," he stammered out.

The rest of the ride was rather uneventful. As soon as they reached the cloud level, Yoyo was all too eager to leave the enclosed space of the elevator. She dashed from Cheem's side and cantered out, and bounced on the clouds. She laughed happily, the fear of falling from before was soon replaced with the joy of touching something new. "Come on, Chemm! The cloud is nice over here! It's solid enough to support our weight, and it's soft like a city-wide foam!"

The elevator ride was finished. The silver elevator doors began to open, welcoming its passengers into the glamorous Las Pegasus. Instead of focusing on the buildings however, Chemm looked onward at the white clouds that served as the foundation for the city. As soon as she saw how flimsy the clouds looked, she gasped and held even tighter to Erlen's back hoof. She was beginning to replenish her fear of heights as she squirmed in fear.

 

"Erlen, Erlen, Erlen, Erlen, Erlen! I can't! The clouds look so flimsy! They can't hold me! I'll fall and die! I can't do this!" Erlen rolled his eyes upon hearing this. He thought she was going to face her fears for once! Now she was becoming frightened again, reducing the likelihood that he would be able to enjoy the museums and the aquarium that awaited them! Erlen replied with a slight groan now.

 

"Chemm!! The buildings are fine! Can't you see?! Here! I'll show you how safe Las Pegasus' clouds are! Now come on!" At this point, Erlen began to push Chemm towards the clouds from behind, to which Chemm responded with wails of high-pitched fear...

 

"ERLEN!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!! NOO ERLEN NOO!!! I CAN'T DO THIS!! I'LL DIE!! ERLEN!!! AHH! ERLEN!"

 

Erlen continued to push her closer and closer to the fluffy clouds. The more he pulled Chemm, the cuter he found her. Her screams were surprisingly pleasing to hear... It brightened Erlen's mood, especially since Chemm was usually the assertive one. Her cries, her whines, and how soft she sounded... it made Erlen's heart melt. He continued to pull her until Chemm was finally on the clouds... 

 

After about three minutes, Chemm was finally on the clouds, screaming and stretching out her hooves in an attempt to hold onto a solid object. When she stopped screaming though, she noticed... she was still on the clouds. Chemm then blushed a bright red as Erlen looked onward at her with a giggle and a cute smile. Chemm then smiled sheepishly and asked Erlen with a whisper,

 

"E-E-Erlen? Can... we have lunch now?"

 

Erlen then laughed happily, to which he happily responded with a nod...

"Azura was filled with happiness and joy and she couldn't help it but giving him a nice soft hug. She whispered in his ear "Thanks.." She trotted a few steps ahead of him and shouted "Hey Starshine, let's go!" she said cheerfully, smiling as she waited for him.

Starshine tensed when Azura hugged him. He tried to at least return the hug, but his hooves locked themselves when she whispered a thank you to his ear. He let out an uneasy laugh. That was unexpected. "Okay... Hey, wait for me!" He quickly caught up with Azura and trotted alongside her. There were questions in his mind on why would he follow the young mare, but he shrugged it off. Why wouldn't he?

 

"Since this is the first time you're in this city, maybe we should..." Starshine trailed. He didn't really have any idea on where to go. He knew some interesting places, but going there would require him to go past some places he couldn't visit yet, at least not when he was with somepony else. His eyes wandered around the street. "Actually, I heard there is a new museum on the west side of the city. It's not the usual worthless museum about painting or whatever, mind you, this one is more about the history of the city, like how they built the cloud district and why would they want to do that. Want to go there?" he asked, a hint of excitement in his voice. "But if that's too boring, I guess we can just go around until you find something that interests you."

Yoyo grimaced seeing Chemm screaming her head out of as Erlen pushed her off the elevator. Ponies around them started throwing an ugly look to the pair. Erlen himself even looked that he enjoyed it! Yoyo rolled her eyes, seemed like there was a long history between the two lovers.

 

When the two trotted to a restaurant, Yoyo followed along. She giggled. The two looked so intimate together. "Now that we are on the cloud, do you guys have any plan after lunch? I myself would go to search for a hotel somewhere around here, then nothing much for the rest of the day."

Erlen and Chemm heard the question ringing from Yoyo. She giggled as they nuzzled each other and trotted side by side to the restaurant. They heard Yoyo asking them about their plans after they were done eating lunch as they placed themselves at a table. Erlen responded with a smile,

 

"Well Chemm and I were planning to check in at our hotel of stay, the Neighton Hotel. We heard about its great reception to its guests and their very comfy rooms. After we settle ourselves in, we were hoping to enjoy a day at the museum right in the heart of Las Pegasus." Chemm nodded in agreement, but deep down, she wanted to enjoy a day at the casinos... Maybe she'd get her chance once they enjoyed a few days in Las Pegasus. She knew how reluctant Erlen was about going to the casinos, but he promised to go there, so that brightened her mood. 

 

After answering Yoyo's question, Chemm and Erlen began to sift through the menu for any delicious food they could enjoy for their lunch...

"Going to the museum sounds nice, but I'm kinda hungry. You think we could get something to eat before heading over there?" Azura looked back at the restaurant around the corner, the one Starshine told her about just a few minutes ago. Her stomach growled at her for not eating a thing since she left home.

Starshine chuckled, he felt bad for not thinking about food first. Hunger was something he was familiar too, eating normally wasn't a regular part of his daily activities, he almost forgot that other ponies would prefer a steady schedule of food. He turned to lead them into the restaurant. "Alright, lunch it is! I hope you wouldn't mind something simple like vegetable stew or sandwich."

 

In the restaurant, he nodded to a waiter and took the table at the corner. He wasn't sure how much bits he actually got inside his saddlebag, but it should be at least enough for this one lunch. "I'll take two egg sandwiches and a glass of water." After Azura made her order, Starshine continued, "If you don't mind me asking, are you scared of heights?"

"Neighton hotel? That sounds... expensive." Yoyo laughed uneasily. Looked like she was wrong to expect a better lodging option up here on the cloud. She made her order to a nearby waitress, picking one of the cheapest meal available. The price list didn't look all that scary, at least that gave her a slight hope. She blissfully ate her lunch in silence.

 

When they were done with their lunch, Yoyo looked out through the window. The city was crazy enough, so many weird decorations dotted the buildings. There were some hotels wedged between the fancy-looking buildings, but they were relatively few in numbers. Erlen said that he and Chemm would check in at their hotel, maybe she could give that place a try before asking around. She scrunched her face, deep in thoughts. "Hm... How long you guys have been dating?" she randomly asked to Erlen and Chemm.

 

 

 

For this post, I assume Azura is still on the ground and hasn't took a ride in the elevator yet. The two groups are in different restaurant
