Twilight looked in horror as she saw Equinox crush Derangeds head. "E-equinox....Stay away" Twilight said shaking from fear. "Stay away from me...please" Twilight soon collapsed to the ground. "I never done anything to you...Please Equinox don't hurt me" Twilight begged

Equinox grabbed Twilight and looked at her. "Now why would I hurt you...You never done anything to me...but yet" Chains slowly wrapped around Twilights neck. "You never helped me at all either...I'm sure Celestia could loose a student" Equinox said as he dragged her by the neck with the chain before hanging her. Watching her struggle, kick and thrash around before her body went still Equinox just smiled.

 

Flame cursed to himself before approaching Equinox. "Damn it Equinox...why...this isn't you t-" Flame was interrupted by a swing from Equinoxes Katana in which he dodged and too to the sky. "I guess I have no choice"

Pinkamena heard Deranged skull get crushed, and at that moment, tears began to flow from her eyes. She wanted to move but she couldn't. Her state of mind only got worse when she heard Twilight begging Equinox for mercy. She heard chains rattling and the sound of struggling, but soon all went quiet and Flame went and sttod up against Equinox.

Flame fired tons of flaming metal feathers at Equinox who in turn threw his katana at Flame severing his wing. Flame fell to the ground hard but got up and looked at Equinox. "I wanted to rip you up so badly..." Equinox said as Flame tried to strike Equinox before it was blocked. "I know all about you...you ca't kill me" Equinox said before Flame disappeared in smoke. "New tricks...."

 

 

Flame appeared next to Pinkamena and looked at her. "Find that book...it's the only thing that can stop him...please Pinkamena I'll hold him off for as long as I can" Flame said

Pinkamena looked up at Flame when he appeared next to her. She nodded and slowly got up when Flame told her to go and find the other book. She ran into the castle, heading towards the castle library, the tears in her eyes making her vision slightly blurry.

Flame came to where Equinox was at and sighed. "Flame...why must you resist...tell you what join with me and you will live" Equinox said before a feather grazed him and cut him. "I guess not..."  Equinox sighed beofre drawing his katana. Flame just kept firing feather after feather and Equinox only let them cut him and he walked closer to Flame.

Pinkamena had reached the library and she had begun to frantically search the bookshelves. "Where is it, where is it, where is it?" She rambled on as she tore through shelf upon shelf in search of this book. "Come on, where is it?" She kept saying to herself.

One of the books got stuck being pulled out causing it to be a switch which opened up a secret door.

 

 

Meawhile Flame was dodging evry attack Equinox was doing only getting cut a few times. It was odd seeing Equinox being so slow with his attacks. Equinox wasn't even trying.

Pinkamena pulled one of the books, but it didn't fall off the shelf. instead it activated a mechanism that opened up a secret door. She went over to this door and peered inside, seeing a white book placed upon a crystal pedestal. She figured this was the book from the description she knew of it. She went into the room and grabbed the book and proceeded to head back out of the castle.

"I'm growing bored of this" Equinox said before the Dark Hand grabbed Flame and hung him updised down and slwoly started to pull him apart. Flame screamed in pain before it stopped and the blood poured from his body and his entrails spilled out onto the ground.

Pinkamena rushed outside and saw Equinox tearing Flame apart. "Nooo..." She said to herself as she gripped the book tighter. She took a step forward. "Equinox! Stop!" She pleade one more time. "I don't want to have to use this, but if it will save you, I will." She finished as she held up the book.

Equinox stepped back. "Shit that damn Grimoire" Equinox said before he stried to stike the book but was repelled back. "Damn it..." A black Lance appeared and shot forward but was stopped. "What the..." The lance was shot back at Equinox in which the black book took the damage

Pinkamena cringed when Equinox went to strike at her, but she looked up when nothing happened and saw that Equinox had been repelled. She looked at the book she held and wondered how it had protected her. She looked back at equinox, who had shot a black lance at her, and held up the book at it. When the lance was shot back, she knew that the book was going to work. She slowly stepped forward towards Equinox, gripping the book tighter and tighter.

"STAY BACK" Equinox hissed as he stepped back. He made the book shoot mutiple bullets which only either dissolved them or reflected them back. "How....no..." Equinox held his katana up and a red aura glowed. He fired the aura only for it to be stopped. The book started to glow and a large lance appeared pointing towards the sky.

Pinkamena just kept walking closer and closer to Equinox, holding the book tightly. He kept throwing attack after attack at her, but none of them landed and sometimes returned to their attacker. As she got up close, she saw a large lance appear pointed at the sky. At this moment, she put the book in front of her and opened it.

The lacne was about to be fire before it dispersed. Suddenly tendrils from the black book shot out and grabbed the black book before it was destroyed. Equinox simply fell to the ground as something shot out of his back and slowly took form. 

 

"I guess it finally worked" The mare from before said standing on top of a building.  "The shadowlord is finally back....all that was needed was Equinox and the black book...though I thought it would fail if the white book was found but everything is good" The mare said as the figure that took form looked at the white book before dispersing into smoke along with the mare.

Pinkamena watched the lance dissipate and tendrils shoot out and destroy the book. She thought it was all over, but she saw she was wrong as a dark figure was forming from Equinox. The figure looked at the white book she was and dispersed. She dropped the white book and ran over to Equinox and held him. "Equinox! Equinox!" She yelled over and over, trying to get him conscious.

Equinox slowly opened his eyes and looked around before sitting up and seeing all what happened. Twilight was hanged by chains, Deranged skull was smashed, Solstice was impaled on the Spire, Flame...Equinox friend, was ripped in half.  "What....what have I done" Equinox asked before clutching his head. "I killed them...I killed them all...." Equinox eyes started swelling up with tears before remembering something and looking at the book.

Pinkamena saw Equinox slowly open his eyes and she embraced hard and tears began to flow from her eyes. "Equinox! You're back!" Pinkamena cried as she held Equinox. "It wasn't you who killed them. It was that book that possessed you and made you do these things." She said to Equinox.

"I couldn't stop it at all" Equinox said as he went over to the white book. "This book saved me I guess" Equinox said opening it and reading a passage that made him smile. He went over to Twilights body and got her down and laid her on the ground. He done the same with Deranged, Flame and Solstice. "There is a passage...I can revive them all...after then...the Shadow Lord is going to die" Equinox said

Pinkamena watched Equinox go over to the white book and start to read it. She was surprised when Equinox smiled and went and moved all the bodies of their murdered friends. "What are you doing?" She asked, but was answered when Equinox said that he could revive them all. "You can?" She asked in disbelief.

"Yes I can..." Equinox drew a circle around their friends before he took his katana and cut himself. His blood fell on on the circle and he started to chant. The circle started to glow as Equinox chanted. Once he finished chanting a bringht flash happened and Twilight, Dernaged, Flame, and Solstice opened their eyes.

"That's great!" She cried as she had a small smile on her face. She sat back and watched Equinox as he began the ritual and speak the incantation. Once finished with his chant, Pinkamena saw everyone's eyes open. She began to cry again and she went over and embraced everyone. "You guys are okay!" She cried.

Solstice, Twilight, Flame, and Deranged looked around. "W-what happened...All I remember is feeling pain and then..." Deranged stopped before looking to see Equinox.  "I revived you all...granted there something still wrong" Equinox said.

 

"What is it this time Equinox" Solstice asked.

"I'm glad you are back to normal Equinox" Twilight said feeling where the chain was wrapped around her neck. "Wait...What happened to the Grimoire Noir and how did one of you find Weiss" Twilight asked looking at Flame and Pinkamena. "Before I...died I saw you and Flame and then thats it" Twilight said
