The thread is called "Is it over-moderated", but I would say it is under-moderated. There is a lot of fights around here that nobody notices that break out like an "RDM" on a RP-game.

There aren't exactly a whole many of them, and each and every one of them has their own life to attend to, which should be a first priority, over moderating a pony forum. If you saw some major fights breaking out that literally no one else notices (which would be hilariously surprising) then you can hit the magic button. Report.

Im not on the moderation staff, but even I report everything I see thats out of place. If all users do this as they see it, then moderators simply need to check out each report and sort it out. Which helps out more then you think. Even with more moderators, not everything is going to be caught in the net .

I agree with Clarity and Dawn Rider. No matter how many moderators there are, they will never be able to catch everything that is abusive or otherwise breaks the rules. Members should always report something bad when they come across it - doing so helps out tremendously in the endeavor to keep this site friendly, appropriate and safe.

 

That being said, I do not agree that this site is under-moderated. From my experience, anything I reported that was abusive or otherwise inappropriate for this site was promptly dealt with. While the moderation staff is not perfect by any means, from what I have seen they do an excellent job of striking a balance between under-moderation and over-moderation, resulting in an ideal level of moderation.
