Bronyette 835 October 6, 2013 Share October 6, 2013 (edited) I tried out a new style on my character, Pixie. I think it is pretty darn cute, but I wanna know what you think. Critiques are welcome~! Made with a mouse and Artrage. Here's a second version without the lining on the mane and a minor face touch up. Edited October 6, 2013 by Bronyette 8 Click on the Banner for more info! SkyBound 829 October 7, 2013 Share October 7, 2013 I must say that this new style as quite adorable and the heart shapes in the eyes are a nice touch. But, is it just me, or is the top image a few shades darker than the bottom? It does not make a difference in quality, mind you, but I am just curious. I do not have any critiques, per say, though the ears are rather different than what I am accustom to. Keep up the lovely work and I hope to see more soon! 1 Deviantart Tumblr

The top one had an outline on the hair, but I got rid of it since it seemed weird with the lineless body. :3 And thank you very much for the kind words. Click on the Banner for more info! Unikitty 1,212 October 7, 2013 Share October 7, 2013 The first(top) version is most appealing. I like the way her mane and tail have a little depth with the lighting. The hard shading gives the character more life, whilst still keeping the overall design and cartoon-y feel.
Dsanders 5,750 October 7, 2013 Share October 7, 2013 Well first off, your OC definitely looks quite adorable for an OC. Also, I would have to say that the first version looks better than the one below. I just prefer it when there are lines to outline certain parts of a pony's body, and in this case, the mane. I personally think the mane looks much nicer here as both the contrast of the outline and the full color of the mane really coincides nicely; the lighting also appears to really make the OC stand out more. Also the ears make her look more like a mouse than a chibi pony. But overall, I'm impressed with what you pulled off here. Definitely beats anything I can come up with in digital art. Aisling Ink 195 October 7, 2013 Share October 7, 2013 She looks adorable! The color combination is really nice and soothing. The only thing that puts me off is the blue in the cutie mark, seems a bit too "strong" a colour compared to the rest of the palette. Anyway good job and keep up the good work! Yes, I can see what you mean. The blue in the cutie mark is the same as her eyes, so it might just be the style that makes it offputting. Yeah, I have a tendency to draw the ears huge on ponies. just an artists quirk I guess. The first(top) version is most appealing. Thanks for the input. 1 Click on the Banner for more info!
