Ah, shit. I hope I don't fuck up, Dusty thought to himself.

"So, uhh, anything else I have to do?" Dusty asked, clearing his throat, hoping his subject change didn't seem obvious.

Game was about to smile when her heard Splinter say something he had never heard before. He leaned his head back and rose an eye brow to Splinter. He leaned back in and moved his ears forward to try and hear his friend better to make sure h hadn't miss heard him.

"No i mean just me and you, i have no need for that lazy idiot Nova you call a friend. I could care less whos your friend, but i have no need for someone like that. I can already tell you the kind of person he is Dusty. No one knows exactly where he came from i mean just saying a direction from the everfree forest is nothing, hes a pegasus who can barely fly, he assumes hes smarter than everybody and seems more arrogant than me; i mean at least i can back up my gloating with what you just saw. If i didn't know any better i'd say your little friend is from Canterlot Private... Well lets go get that milkshake."

 

They walk in and have a seat

 

"I'll have the usual, vanilla please. What will you have Dusty?"

(btw everypony, second period is now starting, sorry for not posting in a while, hw has kept me very busy.)

 

Quartz waited patiently, glancing at the clock seeing it turn to second periods first minute.

 

Sugar started turning on the announcements mic. She read over the paper one last time.

 

Frozen waited tiredly for class to start, sitting in the back of the Chemistry room.

Dusty had never considered where Nova had come from or whether he had lied or not.

Could it be true? Could he be from that fancy private school? Dusty asked himself, I'll have to ask him, shouldn't make wild accusations.

"Alright let's go then, I supposed," said Dusty, lost in thought.

He then realize before long, they were in the shop, and he was asking which flavor he wanted.

"Uhh, I'll have a chocolate please," Dusty said.

Rainbow smirked as Dusty sat silently

 

"Don't think about it to much Dusty, even if you ask hes not going to tell you the truth. That is, if he is from Canterlot Private. So about your flying..."

 

Rainbow Boom hears the door open and looks over to another rainbow mane entering the shop

 

"Rainbow Dash" Rainbow Boom sneers 

 

"You've got some nerve showing your face around here Rainbow Boom, especially after what you did in cloudsdale."

 

"you know that wasn't my fault."

 

"Right, just like what happened in the everfree forest wasn't your fault either...right?"

 

"Like you wouldn't have done the same, you probably would have done it before me if you were there so to get everyone mad at me was so hypocritical of you. Do you know what happened after i left Cloudsdale high? I'm sure you'd be happy to know i joined Canterlot High and beat Cloudsdale with undefeated seasons since i have been there. Oh wait you would know that, because your still the stuck up captain that you always were. You know Dashie, at first i wondered why you screwed me, ME of all people. Your best friend at cloudsdale who was always loyal to you. But after thinking i realized i was always a much better flyer than you and you knew it. You were afraid i'd take your spot and so you screwed me didn't you? You know...I never took you for the backstabbing type Dashie. But now its obvious thats exactly what you are."

 

"Boomie... you don't understand..."

 

"Don't call me that ever again... you know what you did and theres no turning back from it now. Get out of my face, be ready to lose in 2 weeks...again."

 

Rainbow Dash walks out of the shop sobbing and Rainbow Boom sits there staring her with cold hard eyes as she walks out.

The class seemed to drag on forever as Nova aimlessly stared out the window. He had long since finished his work but he really didn't have anywhere else to go, so he remained in class. What have I gone and gotten myself into now? He wondered. I've made 'friends' with another stupid flying team captain and I haven't even been here a day. Brilliant. Isn't that what I was supposed to be avoiding by moving here? Should've know better, trouble always seems to find me wherever I go. Nova left the class for a moment, he needed to clear his head. As he slowly walked down the hall, a new thought entered his mind that made him blink a few times in shock. Why does he look familiar? Where would I have seen him from before? He stopped walking and quickly consulted his memory to see if he could remember why. Oh, is that it? No! It couldn't be...or...could it? That moronic flight team captain that collided with me at full speed while I was practicing my latest trick at my old school? They do look somewhat alike, now that I think about it. That idiot flew right into me instead watching where he was going because he was too busy looking back and yelling at the other twits that were watching him. Got a load of brain damage thanks to his carelessness, ruined my flying career forever, and he never even apologized. Now I'm just the messed up Pegasus that can't fly. Nova took a few deep breaths, tried to calm himself down, and headed back to class.

"Yeah I would've made some good progress alright." Orion said sadly. "He definitely did a better job of taking care of me than any my parents..." 

 

"Sorry, I digress. But anyways, thanks, I really appreciate it. He really did teach me a lot and who knows? Maybe I can make something out of it one day. Thank you for the support." Orion smiled before pulling her into a hug.

 

She's a really sweet and kind mare...I never thought I would ever receive such nice treatment.

 

"And yeah, the days should go by easier after today." Orion said, ending the hug and regaining his composure.

 

"Gladly!" Orion happily exclaimed before taking the open seat.

 

Oh really? Well at least you got to spend time with him while he was still around. Pink gasped and stood wide eyed as Orion gave her a hug.

 

He's really sweet, I'm lucky to have met such a great friend. She gladly returned the hug and smiled.

 

Well I sure hope they do, she said as they ended the hug.

 

Pink looked towards the front of the class eager for the teacher to start so the class could finally move on faster.

 

I can't wait to get to lunch and talk to Orion more, then just go home and relax. I sure hope I make new friends today too.

After they got their drinks, and Rainbow what about to tell him about his flying but then a mare, who had the exact same mane and tail scheme. He was about to say hello, when Rainbow started talking and the conversation ended with the mare running out of the shop crying.

Rainbow Boom stares at Dusty with his eyes watering.

 

"That was Rainbow Dash... i'm going to assume you want me to go into more detail so here it goes. When i was a little colt i loved to fly, but i never cared so much about impressing people. I was bullied for having a rainbow mane and i thought i was alone. Then when i hit middle school i met Rainbow Dash and we instantly became best friends, i mean 2 rainbow colored ponies who love to fly? ha, no way weren't becoming best friends."

 

Rainbows eyes water a little more but he keeps going

 

"Then one day during flying practice at Cloudsdale High, we went to Canterlot Public to compete. This was 3 years ago Dusty, and i was about to perform my sonic rainboom when i saw a chance to really impress the judges so i darted into the everfree forest ready to make everyone gasp in awe at the move i was about to do when i hit a pony who was walking through the forest! I mean who in the right mind walks through the Everfree Forest?? Anyways he seemed hurt so i went back and told everyone. Lets just say there was no winner, i saw Rainbow Dash talking to the team and coincidentally they kicked me off as she finished...and that pony trys to tell me to listen to the real story. HA, i already know the real story and its so obvious! So i decided to try and win my team back by trying a double sonic rainboom over cloudsdale. Well let me say...it didn't work as i intended. I hit the sonic boom to late and it nearly destroyed the school. I left Cloudsdale after that and went to Canterlot Public, every year i have to face her again and i always beat her. Can't say its not fulfilling though, but seeing that mane again..."

 

Rainbow Boom's voice cracks and he seems upset

 

"Come on Dusty... we need to go find her. Its time i hear her side of the story."

"Uhh, alright, but are you sure she'll wanna talk to you after she ran out like that?" Dusty asked, "She seemed pretty upset, though I may be understating that."

"Of course she will Dusty, shes been trying to tell me her side of the story for 3 years now and i think its time to hear it. Plus i have never made Dashie cry before and after doing so i feel like crying myself. Also the way she called me Boomie...she hasn't called me that in years and it really hit me in the feels. I can't explain it... I just have to see what actually happened that day. I can't help but feel its a lot different than i thought..."

"Rainbow Dash! You up there?"

 

"Rainbow Boom?"

 

"Dashie, i'm here to hear your side of the story"

 

Rainbow Dash runs down the stairs and invites the two colts in

 

"Boomie, you have no idea how long I've been waiting to tell you this. Well you know after you hit that colt? Turns out it was a flyer from a small school out in the Everfree Forest. You were flying so fast it gave him brain damage and ended his flying career."

 

"Oh god..."
 

"Anyways i was trying to tell the team it wasn't your fault but they wouldn't listen to me. I tried to tell you i fought for you but you were so angry you just left. Then you tried that double sonic rainboom..."

 

"So wait, you didn't to get me kicked off the team and you didn't get everyone riled up at me either?"

 

"What?! Of course not...your like family to me, i could never screw you like that. Is that what you though happened all these years?"

 

"Yeah it is, oh my god i'm relieved this can be put behind us."

 

Rainbow Boom and Rainbow Dash join in a hug

 

"So whos this friend of yours? Is he a new flying team member?"

 

"Yeah he just joined today, his friend seems a little weird though. Says hes from someplace near the Everfree forest even though and hes even more arrogant than me."

 

"A pegasus pony more arrogant than you? Never thought i'd hear that one. Whats his name?"

 

"Apparently Nova, he can't even fly correctly...whats up with that?"

 

"Wait Nova... Boomie, thats the name of the guy you hit. You singlehandedly ended his flying career. Do you think its the same guy?"

 

"Nah i don't think so, i can ask him though."

 

"Well thats as much as you can do right now so go for it. So are you going to come back to Cloudsdale now?"

 

"You know i can't do that Dashie..."

 

"So what, your just going to beat me again in 2 weeks like always?"

 

"No i'm not going to do that either. We graduate this year and I've had an awesome run of two years, Dusty seems good enough i might just quit..."

 

"Ok now you are not quitting Boomie! I'd rather lose to Canterlot Private."

 

"Then i guess you better train Dashie. Anyways i'll talk to you later, i have to deal with some things right now."

 

"Alright Boomie, i'll see you later..."

 

Rainbow Boom and Dusty walk outside and start flying back towards the school

 

"Like i said Dusty, your family is always your family."

As the Dash, adressed him, he told her his name, but they went into a deep coversation.

I suppose I should just let them sort this out and just kinda hang back, Dusty thought to himself as he took a step back.

As they were done with the conversation and they left, Rainbow said those words again, which made Dusty cringe.

"So, uhh what're we going to do now?" Dusty asked, trying to change the subject.

"Whats with you Dusty? You seem really out of it lately, and I've only known you a day. Do you know anything about Nova's past? I can't help but feel as if it was him who I hit but i'm not sure whether i should ask him or not. Do you know anything?"

"Well then...lets go find him and ask Dusty. Do you know what class he has right now? Also don't worry about the teachers getting all mad about us coming back in the middle of 2nd period, like i said... I know people and they respect me as long as i keep this school #1. "
