Fluttermena 1,223 October 16, 2013 #2 Share October 16, 2013 I read the books, and it's pretty good. I'm a Tolkien fan so reading C.S. Lewis is pretty much a given. I like how he put those christian themes in his book without making them too intrusive (well, except for that annoying chapter in The Silver Chair). The movies are good too, although The Voyage of the Dawn Treader had some annoying changes to the plot.

Scootalove 10,689 October 16, 2013 #4 Share October 16, 2013 I never read the books but, I did enjoy the movies. I think that the movies are pretty good and they remind me of the Lord of the Rings movies. Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
The Leafeon Pinkeh 3,603 October 16, 2013 #5 Share October 16, 2013 :DD I love that series! My elementary school read the first 4 books. And Ive seen all the movies they have. CS Lewis is a good author. I know everything is symbolic but I pretty much only remember the symbolism in the first movie. duidamasterXD 9,627 October 16, 2013 #6 Share October 16, 2013 (edited) They were actually some of the first novels I read with my parents as a kid, and I have a lot of fond memories of them because of that. Now that I'm older there are a few things I don't like about them quite as much, but overall I enjoy the themes and characters very much and I've been meaning to try to reread them. Even after all this time I find myself drawn to characters who remind me of Edmund. I don't like the movies as much as the books, but they're decent enough too. I think they did tend to get a little worse over time (Wardrobe>Caspian>Voyage), but I was able to enjoy each of them. I actually feel that some of the changes they made to the Prince Caspian movie made the story better than the book's. My favorite book in the series is A Horse and His Boy and my favorite characters are Edmund, Reepicheep and Puddleglum. ReverseFaller 2,484 October 16, 2013 #7 Share October 16, 2013 I read all of the books when I was a 5th grader and they were so damn boring. I also found the movies a bore fest as well. I guess they're just not my cup of tea. Then again, if I tried to read/watch them now that I'm older I'd probably enjoy them more. Pripyat Pony 2,608 October 16, 2013 #8 Share October 16, 2013 I read the books as a kid and I still read them now! The movies were alright, but there were far too many changes to the plot. (If you haven't watched the film, don't click the spoiler. Here be monsters.) Reveal hidden contents The green mist in Dawn Treader ticked me off. That doesn't happen in the book and neither does the whole seven swords thing. The film could have done without that crappy filler had it actually stuck to the book plot and kept in all the islands instead of missing some out. The best adaptation I think is the old BBC adaption. Read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chronicles_of_Narnia_%28TV_serial%29 Signature and avatar by Pucksterv.
