planning Martial Arts RP

I have this idea for an open RP thread based on Kung-Fu movies.

 

It would take place in an alternate Equestria, modeled after a Jianghu setting rather than a European fantasy one.

 

The rules would be similar in the sense that the ponies are the wards of their world, but the method and roles are different, being more passive first while. The state of Equestria being a reflection of Harmony rather than the direct result of manual upkeep.

 

For instance, if everypony in Ponyville is happy and productive, than the world around them just takes care of itself. When trouble arises, it doesn't immediately start to storm, but if the problem becomes endemic to the population of the town; the world reflects their souls.

 

The only one who has a direct control of the world is Empress Xia. She assumes the guise of a pony in regal garb but is truly a dragon. She brings the rain and breathes life into Equestria and it's citizens.

 

Now enough world building for now, let's get to the good stuff!

 

MORTAL KOMBAT!

 

 

So fights would be divided into two general rule sets.

 

Crouching Tiger- Styled after early Kung Fu films, such as those done by Bruce Lee. Punches, kicks, and takedowns.

 

Flying Dragon- More in the style of later films such as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, House of Flying Daggers, or even The Matrix. Punches that break through concrete, fighting along rooftops, and jumping across water.

 

Both of course can be mixed and matched with a ponies' magical abilities.

 

Any thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions? Joiners?

I would go with Flying Dragon style. 

 

I'm very interested in this RP, for I'm a martial artist myself. I'll join with my primary OC Thunder Dash. He's got an extraordinary ability. And that ability is wielding electricity. He's a pegasus.

What would be awesome, is making it like a quest/adventure RP, with fights along the way until you reach the big boss.

Are human OC's allowed or would that bring the ponies to a disadvantage?  Or is you allow humans; what ever humans join can be paired against each other.  Just a thought, might still join.

Ooooh, that WOULD be pretty cool, and I agree because if you don't have a set goal in something like this; it's going to turn out to be one giant death match (which would be kinda boring to be honest).

There are already plenty of fight-to-the-death RPs on these forums.

 

I'd say for a good RP like this one to start:

 

The world is plunging into darkness, an evil foe has alternated the fabric of space and let the energy from the negative dimension leak out. In order to defeat this foe, the negative dimension must be sealed and a special light technique must be used. Along the way, each player will gain some sort of special object related to their abilities that would make them stronger...at a certain cost.
