Sorry if you were expecting a finished fanfiction; this Brony's fanfiction is still quite new and unfinished. Still, it's worth it to at least gauge your opinions on my summary.

 

Summary: Twilight Sparkle is wrapping up a night of reading when a dishevelled pony arrives at her door, named Jean Fal Lone. To her surprise, he admits that he lived as a thief for some time. Despite Spike's warnings, she decides to let him inside when he makes the case that he's been attempting to turn over a new leaf, and he regales her with his story, it leads to a new adventure for her, Jean and her friends where she will learn that even the worst ponies can change if they try hard enough, and that she shouldn't exclusively judge a pony by their past deeds.

Were you using Les Miserables as a base? Because that's what I was doing.

I was using more like... The Sting as interpreted by the people who made Paper Mario except the con artist isn't the protagonist and is also a gentleman thief.

 

That's sort of like Les Miserables if you rearrange the letters, add some more and remove others.
