Night Blade emerges from the kitchen with a bottle of rum. After hearing the captain yell about the mast, he quickly jumped in the shadow to hid himself. He would have to talk to Razor about getting a new mast later, for now, a bottle of better drink has his name on it.

Ocean looked up at Gloomfury and smiled. "Just mapping out our route. I've narrowed it down to two islands, one being the more likely one." She said, slipping the coin into her bag and rolling up a map covered in writing and paths. "I gotta give this to the Captain. Care to join me?" She asked, smiling.

Gloomfury smiles back. "Why not?" He then starts climbing up the mass. It's been a while but he still had the strength to climb like he never lever a ship. When he reached the top he drops into the crows nest and looks around. "I missed this view. And the sea. So wher are we headed first miss Wind?"

Synopsis

Captain Razor Sharp enters the Cascade Sea through a fearsome storm. Inside the storm our characters put up a struggle to survive the elements (might be a good time to use the cracked mast for something). The heroes will also encounter a villainous rival pirate captain who will be the antagonist. More on him later. 

 

Captain Razor Sharp looked longingly in the direction they were heading, towards the Cascade Sea. The entrance this time of year was expected to be brutal. The Dark Fortune had to pass around Cape Shadows to get in, and in the middle of monsoon season there was no telling how unpredictable the weather would choose to be.

 

When Razor Sharp looked he saw clouds on the horizon and realized exactly how much he had gotten his crew into. "I shouldn't have come," he muttered to himself.

 

But that split second of regret was all Razor Sharp could afford. In a moment's notice he faced his crew with the harshest expression and gave them his emergency orders. "All hooves, brace yourself and get ready! The only sure way into the Cascade Sea is through that storm, and we are sailing straight into it!"

"Well, this is where claws come in handy" Black Heart chuckled before digging them into the ground and coiling his tail around one of the smaller, uncracked masts. It was a strategy that had worked well in the Everfree while dealing with storms, surely it would work out here

Night Blade emerges from his hiding spot from the shadow as he heard the Captains orders. Thinking quickly, he grabs a rope and ties himself to the non-broken mast. With himself tied down, he pulls out his last cigarette and lights it. Taking a long drag he speaks, "Well, this is going to be one hell of a day."

Shyla wasn't prepared for a storm already, but she swallowed her bad feelings as she turned to the captain. Fear aside, there was a great amount of work to be done.

"Sir!" she called. "The mast may not be in the best condition to enter a storm quite this fierce. I may be able to repair it if we can get a moment of peace in it, but I fear it may break."

She glanced at the reptilian creature and frowned. "Don't do that!" she called. "The winds are going to push you over and snap it as well with such great amounts of weight, and I can't fix everything." She decided not to comment on the fact that he was ruining the deck she had cleaned and repaired all morning. Already Shyla loved this ship with its creaky rooms and interesting hideouts, and she was loathe to watch it get wrecked. Again.

"Who are you?" the Jersey Devil said without a hint of subtlety. "Wait, if you're weak, I won't bother to learn your name. Look you can be....Pony 2" Black Heart laughed caustically before simply coiling his tail tighter and digging his claws in deeper. What a fool, thinking the mast would break. If it did, this ship was not sea-worthy

"Do NOT attempt to repair that mast. You have noticed that it got that way because there is something wrong with it and i have to wait till we land somewhere so i can do a full maintenance on it!" Night Blade warned Shyla. Whether she listens to him or not, that is not his problem, but he is not going to let somepony else take the burden of fixing the mast.

"Pony 2 is fine with me as long as you don't wreck the ship. Again," said Shyla. "Your ego blinds your judgement, demon. Don't think I don't know what you are or what you are able to do...neither of which as very impressive."

She glanced at Night Blade. "I can do some quick service on it so it would club anypony in the head, but I will indeed need to wait until the sea is calmer before I do any serious repairs....it wouldn't hold for long, though, but maybe just enough to last us."

"Demon?" Black Heart snarled before leaping over to Shyla while growling. "I am no demon, I am the Devil of criminals everywhere" Black Heart roared in her face. "Don't you ever call me a demon, again!" the Jersey Devil screamed before backhanding Shyla angrily

"How sad," laughed Shyla, getting back to her feet. Her face didn't hurt, but she knew she would have to fake it to avoid them catching on, so she staggered a little. "A devil is a demon, my little black friend. Perhaps, if you do not wish to be called such, you should learn to control that little temper of yours. If you want respect, learn to earn it and to give it. Now get off the mast, fat boy, can't have you wrecking it. Also, learn to hit harder, your head is probably harder than your hands due to all that skull and none of the brain..."

Though she normally didn't go against others, this one had to watch himself. Shyla did not take well to rudeness, and she felt the golem's temper boiling in her stomach.

"You impudent dog!" Black Heart screamed, tendrils of magic flowing from his body. "I will not tolerate these insults!" Black Heart roared before lashing her with his most powerful tail whip. Instead of the thud he expected, he heard a crack like he had hit a rock. "What?" Black Heart snarled before reaching out with his tendrils to check her life force. Something was wrong with her if her body felt like that

Before any more tension could arise, Moon stepped in between the two in a battle ready stance. "Both of you, stop! This isnt a time to be arguing like this, since the captain ordered us to brace ourselves." After that, she stood back up and sighed. The pony looked at Shyla and Black Heart with her blind and cold eyes. "Look, just.. Please, settle down you two. There's no need to be doing this as of now, so lets just be good ponies and get ready.."

"If the captain says so," remarked Shyla dubiously. "If you ever need help, I'm excellent with my hooves." She had just turned to walk away when the tendrils hit her.

(OoC: Looks like someone is already trying to kill someone else, great start. .__. Also, remember I said I want to keep her condition private for the time being...so I'd appreciate you not getting touchy feely without my permission. As a result I have ignored the last part of your post. c:)

 

"Tell him that," said Shyla quietly, her temper evaporating as she felt a little awkward for her outburst. "Rudeness was no excuse after I tried to be polite and pointed out a danger, and I see no reason to have him attack me for my calling what he was. If he is willing to listen to me, then I am willing to listen to him. Now, please don't lecture me on wrong and right...I can be good, happily so, as long as everyone here understands that it's counterproductive to kill each other."

She looked at the demon before her. "I do not apologize for my actions, for yours were unwarranted, but I am sorry for continuing to...'feed the parasprites' and do not wish to end this in you being violent." She extended her hoof. "Be civil, and perhaps we can rethink our ways."

Captain Razor Sharp finally couldn't take it any longer. The back and forth arguing was an insult to the efficiency of any worthy pirate crew. He cut in and stood his full height above everypony else. Then, with a deep breath he yelled at the top of his voice. "Everypony, stop this at once!" he ordered.

 

The volume of his voice immediately got him everypony's attention and he calmly stepped forwards to give his lecture. "Mates, you should take Shyla's advice. Arguing is pointless. The decision has already been made. We're already underneath the storm and when we're inside we need to work together to keep ourselves afloat."

 

Razor Sharp eyed each pony one at a time. As captain, he was careful to take note of everything his crew had on their minds, which was a daunting task but a necessary one. He first confronted Shyla and Night Blade. "I know it's maybe your place Shyla to do repairs, but things with the mast are a little more complicated than you might think. And also, trust me when I say, the mast WILL hold. She's been weak since the day I got this ship. The problem with not become anymore severe... if we keep our heads straight."

 

He turned to Night Blade next. "I know, by the way, that you tried before to repair the mast yourself," he spoke. "There is no time to get on your case about it, but maybe later you'll understand the connection our former boatswains have had with that mast. In the meantime, there's more important things at hoof."

 

After he made his case to the both of them, Razor Sharp turned and looked at the only other creature that probably matched his height. Black Heart. The beige colored pegasus approached the devil and gave him a piece of his mind. Razor Sharp's fear of the creature was forgotten as he marched straight up to him. "And you!" he began. "I allowed you to stay because I wasn't sure if even I was strong enough to fight you, but I now feel reasonably sure of my swordsmanship! If you want to stay a respectable crew member, there are going to be standards to meet, understand?"

 

Without even waiting for a response, Razor Sharp walked away and everypony stared. Before any protest could be spoken, the crew was suddenly greeted by the first few raindrops and everypony realized that they had entered the storm. They were already in its hold and Razor Sharp could see the worst was yet to come.

Night Blades ears dropped backwards after listening to his Captain. He was right, everyone needs to work together if they want to get through this storm. No more lolly gagging, he cut himself from the mast he tied himself to and waited for someone to give him an order for him to fill out. If anything, he will do what is right to help everyone out of here. They are his friends now, whether they know it or not.

Moon took a slight offense to what Razor Sharp had said, since she was the one to bring up the topic of being Civil, just Shyla explained it a little longer. But even so, she had felt the wind change and the rain drops come. It was a storm to behold indeed.

Black Heart growled but stood down from the Captain. The Captain had won his honor through blood, he had no right to take it away. As for Shyla, he didn't feel the life-force he usually felt around ponies. Black Heart smirked at the possibilties this could bring. She wasn't a pony, that was for sure. He wouldn't tell anyone but, it would be nice to have as black-mail evidence

Ocean smiled. "The island that I've marked on this map. Its called, Island of the Shade Mists. There's supposed to be an ancient tribe of zebra's who are totally cut off from our world...we should be car-" She was cut off when she heard the captain speak.
Her eyes widened and she looked out at the horizon at the oncoming storm. Instantly her heartbeat began to quicken. *Water...touch...NO!* Was all that ran through her mind. She shoved the map into Gloomfury's hooves before moving quickly towards the hatch leading below deck. "Give that to the captain, everything is written down I'll be...uh...down here...doing something." She called over to Gloomfury before opening the hatch and quickly running down to the crews quarters to find a nice safe...dry...place.

After pacing around a few bits at the back of the ship, Moon heard as Ocean rushed into the cabins down below and decided to follow behind. She flew quietly through the halls, listening to the hoofsteps of her where ever she went until eventually catching up, tapping a shoulder shortly after. "What was that about? Is there something wrong with you and water, or..?"

Gloomfury gives a confused look and looks up.  'It's just rain. It's not like it's gonna kill her.' He thought. But he just shrugs and holds onto the mag tight as he swings down to the deck on one of the ropes and heads for the captain. 

 

@@Stancet,When he reached him he tapes his shoulder. "Captain, Miss Ocean Wind as marked out our route on this map, sir. It seems we're heading to a place called the Island of the Shade Mists." He holds the map out to him.
