Suit's heart sank with the outright attacks on his mental state. Being told he needed to be put into an asylum wasn't a first, but it still stung to hear it. His ears folded back. "Lucid's thoughts become clouded with our presence.. We aren't behind anything besides the eyes in our head and the words from our mouth.. Hmmhmm. What lies within is pure as the water we drink. We are not any more insane than the world we live within.. Mhmm heheHAHAHA!!!" He quickly cupped his hooves over his mouth, feeling conscious of his loud laughter suddenly. He knew it wasn't going to help his situation, but he couldn't control it. "Apologies.." He continued to hide behind Selune, worried of the unicorn's refusal to lower his defenses. Suit Twister had no intention of being on the receiving end of a magical burst if he could help it.

Of course he is not "suffering" to be exact. Somewhere in the begginings of his youth he discovered he could "read" other's minds... he figured out he could read his own as well... so what happenned in his growing mind is that he perceived his own thoughts as different from his actions. Thus he figured out they were his own... but not his own. I know this doesn't make much sense but the closest i can say is that he perceives himself as two ponies the one that acts, and the one that thinks. Growing with this "dual-minded" policy musn't have helped him in his social nature, not having been taught control over his talent didn't help either... and now we have the Suit Twister we see right here. I don't believe he is crazy enough to be capable of any serious harm... unless you get annoyed easily." Selune knew above all the control of one's abilities was imperative to be able to act as a proper member of society... she knew of her own experience. While doing that she realised that Suit Twister might have been listening to her thoughts... he didn't mind... it was easier that way either or else. Suit Twister was capable of understanding, or at least she hoped he would. "Alright... i know we all have one common goal... find out why all these dissapearances are happenning, and we need to set aside our differencies for now in order to achieve it. Clockwork Green landed here in this site. Suit Twister... do you know why? Did you catch wind of his thoughts? I believe he might have a clue about what happenned."

 "Hmm, You are quite smart..." Lucid replied, "I am quite sure that he will be no harm, as long as he doesn't blurt out...... unrelated thoughts" he continued. "better not think about anything embarrassing, ARRRGGG STUPID FOOL! I can't even think in private." he thought angrily.

Suit looked at Selune, thinking for a moment. "Clockwork.. Green? Hmm.. Yes.. he was invisible. I could hear his mind voice behind me before I ran into you.. I don't hear him now." He glanced around, as if the crowd around them would care he was speaking. "He said that you were tr-troublesome. He sounded annoyed.. We don't understand.. Selune doesn't seem troublesome." He smiled awkwardly. "Perhaps he has returned to his dwelling.. hmmhmm. He hides there most of the time.. Behind the walls he builds for himself. hmm" Suit had a sullen expression with the thought.

Muddle wasn't sure what to say. Her attempt to forget about the scene had failed, and in reality she didn't 'really' know what was going on. "From what I was told... it was a victim." As Muddle said this, she started to think about something. "You don't think that the murder is still..."

He hides... well i didn't see many suspicious items in his workshop but i don't think he's going back there. That means one thing... he has another hideout. Unfortunately Lucid Clockwork didn't crash... it seems his invention that allowed him to fly has been quite effective. I think it would be wise of going back to his workshop... this might allow us to actually find some clues... but there is another reason." She looked left and right and motioned them closer when she started to whisper. "Alright listen up... some ponies have some sort of metal contraptions... some chips in their heads that affect their actions... or at least i think they do. What i do know is that the ponies having them experience some memory gaps... a... friend of mine Midnight Scribbler has one and i was interested in finding out ways to remove it. In his workshop we may find clues to his whereabouts, his plans, and maybe these chips. We need to move fast... and gather the rest. There are some ponies i know that would also be interested."

"Hmmm Midnight Scribbler.... I think that was the one who ran into the street and panicked. Alright, I believe you. We've got to get moving and find out exactly whats going on. I just came back from that lab.... howver there was another pony with me, I dont know what happened to this pony, but after hearing all this I fear the worst for that pony.

These...... chips sound like a lot of trouble, are they visable? Is there some way to detect them?" Lucid said to Selune, now almost ignoring Suit Twister, his shield still did not go down.

Suit Twister grinned "Suit will come with you on this journey.. If you should wish it. We can help find things that the eyes cannot see. Hmmhmm. We might as well.. as our risk is as great as yours." He looked to Lucid then to Selune. "There are others who follow you? One who is called..M..Muddle? And the other.. Sidesplitter? We have never met these ponies yet.. Where are they?" Suit inquired.

Suit Twister looked into Selune's eyes for a moment. He replied with sincerity, realizing she was right. "Suit Twister will t-try.. We aren't worried about danger.. If it means ending a greater evil.. hmmhmm. Difficult it is to deny one's own nature.. mm but.. We will try.. for Selune." He smiled. Suit had little to lose aside from his life, and an assortment of bizarre swirly drawings he'd made with ink and paper. And he wasn't carrying those with him at the moment.

Lucid replied to the two "Then we have no time to lose, I'll do what I can to help." he turned to Suit "I don't know of this 'Muddle' and 'Sidesplitter' what importance do they have?"

He turned to face Selune "I just came from the labs of Clockwork Green, we can go there right now if you wish, I'm starting to feel a little suspicious about him..."

Suit Twister looked to Lucid Dream with a confused expression, as though he should know the names weren't from his own mind. "We don't know them.. One who is called.. Selune, knows who these ponies are. HmmHmm. Clockwork is a mysterious one.. yes.. Like a whisper in the dark when he chooses to be. hehe.. but he doesn't know his thoughts speak out loud to this one.. He will know I can see him. Hmmhmmm." Suit was about to say something more, but was cut off, by something very loud. He flinched and shrieked.

Just then, there came an explosion from inside the city hall. Debris scattered down the steps, and police ponies darted left and right attempting to control the crowd, which was now massing in a stampede in the opposite direction to escape the danger. A pillar began to fall, and glass flew through the air, landing in the streets. Ponies who couldn't get out of the way in time were sprayed with glass, and stone. Some were laying dead from shrapnel, others badly wounded. Suit Twister looked to Selune and Lucid, and yelled over the din. "Sailing in a sea of chaos.. We find ourselves in the same boat now.. Heh HAHA!!" And with that, he grabbed them both, running. Trying to pull them out of the way of the falling column.

Muddle was caught off guard by the sudden explosion, everyone was. The shards had quickly started to cut, blind, and even kill the ponies that surrounded her and Sidesplitter. It didn't take her very long to realize that something had gone wrong, and her friends were in the center of whatever disaster this was. Actually, she could see her friends. They were in the hooves of some stallion and running away from the...  She looked towards her left and screamed. "Run!" 

 

She grabbed SideSplitters hoof, hopping she would follow.

"WHAT THE!!!!! AHHH" Lucid yelled as he was about to get hit with the glass. He dropped the double soul shield and tried to conjure a wall to protect himself.

 

 

Suit Twister looked to Selune and Lucid, and yelled over the din. "Sailing in a sea of chaos.. We find ourselves in the same boat now.. Heh HAHA!!" And with that, he grabbed them both, running. Trying to pull them out of the way of the falling column.

Lucid jumped out with Suit Twister and frantically looked around "What's going on, he frantically looked around for what was the source of the explosion.

Suddenly, what seemed like out of freaking nowhere, came a giant explosion that shook the entire ground, shards of glass falling, and pieces of the building crushing ponies around her & Muddle. Sidesplitter seemed to be motionless for a second, still shocked from the explosion, until Muddle grabbed her hoof, & pulled her out of the way of incoming glass. She gratefully caught up to her, and started to run away from & dodge the rain of the falling shards.

 

"What in Celestia's name was that?" She said at the top of her lungs, trying to be heard over the screaming of the other ponies.

The pillar crashed to the ground mere feet behind Selun, Lucid and Suit Twister. Chunks of stone flew off from the massive column, and it shook the street so much that Suit tripped over and rolled to the ground behind the others. Just as soon as he'd landed, a large stone gargoyle from the top of the pillar had launched into the air from the impact and was falling directly towards Suit Twister!

"HAAAH RUN!!" He yelled to Selune and Lucid, before the large stone statue landed on top of where he was. The rumbling faded, and the debris finally stopped falling from the sky. It seemed as though the moment had frozen time, and lasted for an eternity. Ponies who were left in the area were either standing, stunned. Or weeping over loved ones who lay bloody, battered or dead in the street. Some sat, and just looked on in disbelief. Others began trying to help the wounded, carrying them in the direction of the hospital. The city was now in a state of chaos.

Muddle took a moment to catch her breath. She managed to stutter the words, "I...don't... know." to Sidesplitter before almost passing out.

 

"Crisis not over yet!" What could her shadow be talking about? 

 

She looked behind her and saw the gargoyle falling from the tower. She held Sidesplitter and started crying, because she knew with her luck it was headed for them. She stopped her sobbing, when she heard a crash. 

 

She was still breathing, as far as she could tell. "..."

There was so much madness going on, such chaos had wreeked havoc umong the streets of Dodge City, Sidesplitter could barely think beyond trying to survive. She felt Muddles embrace, looking up to see a gargoyle falling from the building. Sidesplitter cowered, still holding Muddle tight. After what seemed like centuries, the disaster had calmed down, but it was still a tragedy. She looked around, seeing the dead corpses & brutally wounded around her. She started to tear up herself, nopony should have to go through this kind of emotional & traumatizing stress.

 

"M-muddle...are you ok?" She stammered.

"..." Muddle slowly looked up at Side, not wanting to let go of her; and more importantly not wanting to look around her again. Every time she did, only more ponies would end up dead, and her friends were still back there. She slowly shook her head up and down in reply to side's question. Although, she didn't seem quite sure. Even her shadow was beginning to worry about her. 

 

"...Muddle?" No response, "Muddle, I know this may be hard; but your going to have to let Side go." 

 

She honestly didn't want to comply. She and shadow had never really seen eye to eye, but this was on a completely different level. It was only after a lot of persuasion, for once, by words and gentle brushes on her shoulder that Muddle listened to shadow. She let her go and said, "I-i'm fine... you?"

Sidesplitter allowed Muddle to let go, herself brushing off her shoulders. She couldn't blame Muddle for being afraid this time around, she was pretty scared too. The worst part about it was the fact Midnight could have lost control of himself and set off the explosion. Then again, it could have also been Jinx, but she was less afraid of the latter.

 

"I'm ok, I think." She replied. "We need to go find the others.....that's about all I can think of....."

Muddle knew Side was right, but she was afraid of what they would find when they went to go check the wreckage. She had finally started making friends what if. "I don't think I can..."

 

Her shadow stopped rubbing her shoulder and looked at her in disgust. "Then obviously you don't care about your friends." Out of all the hurtful things her shadow had said to her, these seemed to hurt the worst.

It took Muddle a moment to take in her shadows words but when she did; she slowly started turning around towards Side. Then she silently said, "You're right," to both Side and her shadow. Then she added, "Thanks." 

 

Her shadow turned away from her, "Don't get me wrong. I still hate the three eyed freak, and I care very little about the pony with the bad puns." With that her shadow returned to it's normal position.

 

She knew her shadow didn't really mean what it said, and decided to let its last words fall on deaf ears. Besides, it had laughed at Sides' jokes earlier.

She started walking and then turned towards Side, she had forgotten her again. She weakly smiled, hoping to reassure herself and Side, and said, "We had better start searching..."

She trotted slowly towards the fallen statue, beginning to think about how much she was in for. She honestly didn't sign up for this, but now she was in it for the long run. It wasn't about her job anymore, it was about survival.

Lucid Stared at the gargoyle in disbelieve, "Whats going on! Where did that explosion come from!?" He looked among the chaos trying to spot the cause of the horrific explosion. 

Then he realized

 

Sidesplitter smiled, despite the given situation. "Ok then..." She looked around again. "Let's look for where the gargoyle hit, maybe they were over there. Even if they're not, the least we can do right now is help other ponies while trying to find our friends."

 

He looked over to see another pony. None of these random ponies mattered to him, nothing made sense. Lucid then closed his eyes.

Selune closed her eyes as she was pulled away from the radius. She coughed a bit and opened her eyes as a large statue of a gargoyle fell near them. "Twister!!! Lucid!!!" fearing for the worst she attempted to lift the statue with her teleportation magic. She was strong but she wouldn't mind help "DON'T JUST STAND THERE!!! HELP ME LIFT THIS THING!!!"
