That they kinda botched a few things this round?

Normally I love the comics, almost more than the show in some regards (they seem to have more freedom to do silly things with characters and have higher level themes)

But this one... It started off awesome, but then went to the alternate world and fell flat (no surprise really)

but what bugs the hell out of me is that Babs Seed is seen... in the same age group as Applejack?!

wth?!

Someone over on the writing staff needs a good whack in the head for that one!

On a side note.. sub forum for the EG, and main series.. but no comic? :P

I haven't read it yet, but in the movie they aged most of the fillies and colts up to like high-school freshman age so it would make sense having them hanging around.

Not really, since the other CMC, snips, snails, and Diamond Tiara were all still portrayed as younger than the mane six.

While older than expected, (and the M6 being younger by right) they were all still very much younger.

Babs in this comic is literally far older, the book even has Diamond Tiara in it, so its not a hard comparison...

Or she's just Younger Than She Looks, in the show she does seem to be a bit bigger than the rest of the foals her age so they may have taken it and ran with it.

Somehow I doubt that, And tbh don't care for all the thrown around "tropes" BS.

I'd rather go by what the show, its writers, and those behind it all say. Not what some trumped up half wit decided it means based on the fact its cliche, or similar to a cliche, in some way. If we start looking at everything with that trope site, than NOTHING that has EVER been made is original. And everyone should just stop making anything.

She wasn't taller than most either btw, Scootaloo aside (whom is often shown as the shortest anyways. In one scene even almost looks like an infant when she bumps into babs... heh.. animation oopsies are fun)

I'm watching her intro ep right now for comparison, and if anything she's shorter than diamond tiara (she stands right next to her when she first takes sides, and face to face at the end when she confronts DT)

Edit: FYI nothing against you, just sick and tired of "tvtropes this, tvtropes that" and how people have been tossing it about like it explains everything without question.

As well as use it to complain how "unoriginal" things are.... Like south park said, ITS ALL BEEN DONE ALREADY! The only thing left is to do it in new and different ways. Sure its the same old trick, but as long as its done different, its new!

and Like I said, I don't think it fully applies here :P

That's not the point of Tvtropes at all, as stated here, tropes are not bad, they are merely tools and patterns in media. They are tools, and like any tool the results of using them can be good or bad depending on if they're they're used properly. I use it because:

A)I'm a troper, big time,

and B)because it's such a massive database of not only media tropes but real-life social effects that's it a good go-to(and it's much more reader friendly than Wikipedia due to it's casual and informal tone).

But yeah, you'd be surprised how true that trope can be. I was being mistaken for a senior when I was a freshman because I matured so quick. I even had one guy that ran a store say "thank God I don't sell booze, because I wouldn't have even checked your ID if you tried it" and this is when I was like 16. I also recall a story a friend told where his cousin got lead on by a 13 year old because she looked like a college-age adult and hid her age so well(he got lucky and someone warned him before it went to far)
